Absolutely the worst customer service…
Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The 3rd party delivery company refused to take the chair further than the front door (despite the website saying that free delivery included placing the chair in a room of your choice) - they took they chair back undelivered. I was then contacted by HM’s customer care department. The lady was rude and even asked me why I couldn’t carry (the heavy chair) up the stairs myself. I had to explain I’m disabled. This was all so shocking, from a company that produces sone of the most expensive furniture in the world!! Don’t touch Herman Miller with a barge pole. Go to a re-seller or another supplier of their products but definitely don’t use them direct.
Don't waste your time! Website & service is horrible
Placing an order with HM has been a nightmare! I was supposed to get a discount through my company. I placed an order online and the website was having issues. As a result of the issues, and dealing with customer service to resolve them, I have multiple orders on my account that need to be cancelled. One of the orders shipped before it could be cancelled and I was told I "cannot be refunded until the items have been returned to the warehouse" – that's ridiculous service for an issue that was not my fault. After a full month I still have a charge on my credit card for almost $4,000 and still no refund. Furthermore, the customer service rep (Melina) has stopped replying to my emails for over a week, so I still don't have an order and I'm holding a charge of $4,000. I will most likely get charged interest now, too, which is another problem I will have to chase HM for. A month later and I am still unable to place an order using our discount, which is actually a good thing because I will be taking my business elsewhere. Don't waste your time! Buy from someone else.
Stay away not worth it .
terrible chair, the adjustment are limited and mostly useless, the recommended size chart failed me terribly I can only guess i didn't try to next size to compare, this chair does not seem to fit me.
wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over price for both the service and the chair.
extremely slow delievery;
extremely slow delievery;
horrible customer service;
Inaccurate product spec on the website.
Absolutely shocking customer service.
Absolutely shocking customer service.
I purchased in good faith a stand up desk from their website in Nov for $829.23.
I was expecting delivery in Dec.
I heard nothing for over 2 months, then today January 26th I receive an email stating that there was a glitch in their ordering system and the desk I ordered is no longer available and guess what, I now need to pay an additional $558.05 for a replacement?!!!
Secondly - the email with the new order for me to approve had my old home address on it, and address that I didn't even enter into the original order.
Are you kidding me?
This is absolutely ridiculous and terrible customer service.
You would think when you are spending…
You would think when you are spending $7,000 on a single chair, they would do everything to make it a smooth process. Well, you are wrong.
I ordered, over the phone, an Eames chair for $7,000. The rep happily took my order and everything seemed great. Well fast forward a few weeks later when the chair is ready to ship. I check my email and the address it wrong. EZ fix right? WRONG.
They can't change the shipping address after the order is placed. Are we living in the 1920's before the invention of computers? You can't change the shipping address on a $7,000 chair? How insane is that?
Okay no problem, I will just cancel the order and re-order it. WRONG AGAIN! Well, the retail price of the chair went up $500. Now that same chair I ordered is $7,500! They will not match the price and on top of it, I was CHARGED $7,000 for the original chair I NEVER RECEIVED.
Now I'll have to do a chargeback on my credit card because Herman Miller says they didn't charge me. It's insane how hard this is becoming.
So unless you like to waste thousands of dollars, months of time and hours of headaches, I would stay far away from Herman Miller.
12 Year Warranty is a LIE!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
What happened to this company?!
I've been buying Aeron chairs for over 20 years now, 3 personally, and many at work. My original Aeron had issues, but warranty was handled quickly, without any issues. It was one of the reasons I continued to buy from them, no longer.
The last chair I bought for a gift literally fell apart (base w/piston fell out of seat) as I was taking it out of my car, and fell to the ground. Structurally, it is fine, but was scratched and gouged on one of the support frames. I thought, no problem, they always handle warranty issues really well.
They refuse to do anything about it, they have referred me to local dealers, who refuse to fix under warranty. They say they don't have parts (uh, you are the manufacturer). I have explained the issue over and over again, and they tell me the same thing over and over again, without trying to help me solve the issue.
Oh you are having problem with the dealer, just try another dealer. So the HM 12 year warranty is useless if the dealer decides they don't want to deal with it. There are only 2 dealers in the Seattle area, I am talking with both, and they take forever to respond. One has already said it isn't a warranty issue. My previous issue was handled directly through HM, they have apparently gone the route of trying to make it too much trouble to get warranty issues handled.
Herman Miller has sold me the chair directly, now refuses to honor the warranty, and is washing their hands of my issue. This could be the case of one bad customer service rep, but how would I know, all the e-mail comes from one e-mail address. I did get a response from someone who SEEMED more reasonable, but then the very next response was the same stonewall response from a previous reply. No idea who I am talking to, so I have to assume this is now company policy.
I have submitted a complaint to the BBB, for all the good it will do, but I'm also letting people know. If you have any problems, expect no help from Herman Miller. Your $1.5k+ chair has no better warranty than the discount unofficial resellers of HM chairs, which is absolutely no warranty.
Herman Miller is the worst customer…
Herman Miller is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They're dismissive, and rude. When trying to get a repair from a purchase on the online store they told me to find a dealer and dismissed warranty claims within warranty.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I bought a standing desk. I have had three engineers out to try and fix things as the electronic function does not work.. its £3k+ desk. I am still waiting for the fourth engineer as we work through a process of elimination.. over months...I am doing all the chasing. Total apathy at their end, really surprising to be honest I was expecting decent service with their luxury price tags.
Excellent chair and service
Excellent chair and service. Very confused by the other terrible reviews here!
The chair is super comfortable, I can already feel my back thanking me. Plus it is the only nice-looking office chair I was able to find that fits with a Scandinavian office vibe. The delivery man was really lovely and helpful, even taking away all the packaging which saves an annoying job! The best delivery service of any product I've ordered.
Customer service is a joke
Customer service is a joke. I have spent thousands on a standing desk that does not function due to a missing power cable. There is no white glove assembly and I have sent 4 emails that remain unanswered over the course of several weeks.
Worst support ever!
I already put a lot of time in trying to contact HermanMiller so this one will be short. Worst customer support ever!
HERMAN MILLER. Be careful dealing with them
Oh my goodness, I must remember to look at trust pilot before dealing with any company.
HERMAN MILLER you are a disgrace. Really keen to sell expensive chairs with guarantees but when it comes to sending one back which is the most uncomfortable I have sat in, you don't answer phones, emails or contact forms!! BEWARE to BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. BTW. Still no response two days of trying! Herman Miller, contact me!!
Update after publishing this. Two very capable people at HM, one chased customer services and then customer services were very apologetic and have promised courier collection to arrange within 48 hours. It took a lot of effort but the company seems to have stepped up.
Most bad service
The order must be shipped on August 17th...
August 18th, they changed the date to September 30th...
I canceled the order, but they cannot close it as the manager is on vacation!
Do you want to deal with them?! I personally cannot recommend!
No problems for me
No problems for me. Kept informed about the delivery (which was about 2 weeks after purchase). My new Aeron chair is superbly comfortable, and all controls feel robust.
Good experience for me
As soon as I'd ordered I came to this site and saw the poor reviews - my heart sank. Fortunately, having been told delivery would be at least two weeks, with possible delays, it arrived in three weeks and two days - certainly acceptable given the estimate. Delivered promptly by a chap named Kevin who even offered to unpack the chair and take away the packaging - declined, but nice touch. The chair - so far, so good. No complaints from me.
Lindsy IS GREAT
Lindsy IS GREAT. VERY HELPFUL, PROMPT, AND ATTENTIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
i RECOMMEND HERMAN MILLER TO ALL MY COLLEAGUES.
note: DUE TO COVID THEY ARE MOST LIKELY OVERWHELMED WITH ORDERS, SO BE PATIENT!
If product is damaged, customer service is terrible, why so expensive
You pay extra for products with high quality. Or you pay the extra for customer service. There aren't much other factors that's on the side of buy the more expensive instead of cheaper.
I bought an aeron chair that has arrived damaged. Wrote to customer service to ask for a replacement. They replied 3 days later asking for evidence. I immediately replied with it. Another 4 days later they were saying: "we can't give you replacement, as all the aeron chairs are like that". So all the aeron chairs have half of the screws damaged, and because the finish is black, the metal underneath the black paint shines. So disappointing. Products can damage during transit, it's understandable. But if customers can understand this while paying ridiculous amount of money for a single chair, the company MUST apologise, and resolve the problem as soon as possible.
1300€ borrowed to HM...
Nearly a month after purchasing the HM Embody X Logitech and I still have not gotten any delivery date.
After writing an e-mail to HM I get back a reply that they had technical difficulties with the order detail delivery to the courier. That was over 1 week ago, since then I got no call/e-mail from the courier and also no update from HM.
1.309€ gone and the chair is no where to be found.
I really expected more from such a "big" brand.
Noisy chairs. No after sales.
I thought that spending the money I did on a Herman Miller Embody chair would prove dividends in the long run with their global warranty and boasted build quality. It hasn't. Since purchasing it's progressively got worse in terms of creaking. So much so that I can't use the chair when my children are sleeping next door. I contacted Herman Miller and they said they would send someone around to deal with it and the gas strut. It's been months and I still haven't had my visit or a call back. They ignore my emails and telephone messages and don't seem interested in their brand promise. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR. Spend your money on something cheap and cheerful and replace it when it wears. You'll save yourself a fortune.
