Absolute robbing swines, I have had learner insurance for less than 4 weeks with this absolute disgrace of a company. They were reluctant to answer my questions on the first call. However with it being cheap we decided to take the plan. I passed my test and then now they are demanding £241 cancellation fee. Absolute robbing. Would not recommend this company to anyone. They have a bad attitude and are not professional.

This company seem to be trading under at least two names and using different names for each popular quote comparison broker web site.
Initially, they provided a quotation which I accepted and they took the money. They then came back to me telling me I had undeclared accidents.
I had declared two accidents initially, the first of which having been cleared after I had the decision changed to bothe party responsibility.
As such, I told them that given the circumstances, their quote was invalid and I wanted to go back to the marketplace.
They refunded the installment but kept £28 as insurance for the one day it took to discover the first penalty.
In a further search, I was careful to note my previous two claims and in this process, the answer sheet only required listings under three years old. As such, my first claim was not required and a quote came up under their other name which seemed reasonable and I accepted it only to be told I had a undisclosed accident following collection of their first installment.
At this point, I realised that both companies were the same company and this was their little trick to extort money from would be customers. For me, a broker should be honest and helpful. This company have proven to be less than honest and helpful only to their own benefit. They may have honest intentions but tricks like this and using accusation rather than sorting out issues does not demonstrate good customer relations. I will however keep the insurance as I am far too busy to fuss over this kind of trollism but I will not use these comparrison sites again as the business is loose to say the least. Update - They cancelled my policy after I posted this - the Good news is that I got my insurance cheaper after these rogues charged me over £200 for interim cover.

I have been fraudulently charged for some insurance I never had. This has happened for the fourth time. The police got involved the first time and whoever had taken out the insurance was taken to court. Since then it has happened again a last year, the police got involved again, and today they have taken £731 off my credit card. I dont know how they got my credit card details. This company is perhaps accidentally taking money which they then give back but meanwhile you are paying for premium rates on their phone. I am reporting them. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK

Money taken out of my account with no warning, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable wait time to talk to someone, will not be using this company again.

Actually just randomly stole £230.13 from my bank account with no warning or explanation

Don’t be tempted by low price insurance.
Daughter decided to sell her car after just 3 months, pursues to cancel her insurance to be told that we have to pay an admin fee, early repayment figure and dd costs amongst lots of other fees totalling to £197! I’m sorry but WHAT?!
We have never missed a dd payment, never been in arrears yet being penalised for cancelling SOMETHING THAT WE NO LONGER NEED! I’ve never experienced such day light robbery!
Actual robbers from the community and lure you in with cheap prices.
Please don’t use this company!!! Go with a reputable insurer that are well known otherwise you too will be conned in to paying for something you don’t actually need or have.
What an easy way to make money!

Another appalling treatment from Herts/Sterling Insurance.
They cancelled my policy after renewing it, taking my money and giving me the excuse ‘underwriters instructions’. I used them because they claim to specialise in UK insurance for EU residents which is exactly the real reason for the cancellation.

Took out car insurance but ended up having a further £40 taken out my account. Apparently I didn't declare a speeding ticket which was totally wrong! I screen printed the original quote but they wouldn't accept this. A horrible company with 0% ethics and best avoided.

Just renewed cover after daughter passed her test. Passed from one person to the other and put on hold for ages. Everyone repeating the same mantra. Eventually got it sorted. Then a little later got a warning about my phone package price cap. Just investigated and have been charged nearly £17 for the privilege of renewing the policy. Robbing gits. No mention of the stealth charge.

Sorted car insurance with this hopeless company, paid a year upfront, after a few months added my wife as an additional driver. Once insurance was paid in full (which was immediate) got no end of requests from them for one document or another, they really didn't seem to know what they were doing. Have just now received a weeks notification from them that they are cancelling policy and I have no means for a refund??.. I paid nearly £1000 upfront then additional payments to add my wife and they have just cancelled policy and kept all our money. Absolutely pointless trying to get through either via email/phone. Just complete scam artists. Pathetic joke. Glad to say that my wife and I have gone with a much more professional company who know what they are doing.

Whilst on hold trying to cancel my insurance on the day of renewal, I know my fault.
But whilst I was on hold the automated message was telling me that the friendly folk at Just Kampers would find me the best deal

£ 500 renewal but last week when I did my own quote it was £ 300

Anyway long story short £80 to cancel after questioning why my renewal was 500 when their friendly team are suppose to find me the best deal 500, 500

Anywho Post Office insurance done better than half, cheers dudes

I called up their help line and told them the car is sold, a permanent license obtained and hence nothing should be renewed. They said OK OK. They said that they will refund the direct debit in 3/4 working days.

Really strange- how can a company issue an insurance policy when the holder has clearly intimated that the CAR HAS BEEN SOLD.

Very disappointing.

Sunday May 22, 2022 - Just noticed that instead of refunding / reversing the earlier charge of £ 307.76 they have again debited the £307.76 to my credit card !!! So for a policy that was cancelled in Feb this company has renewed it TWICE in May 2022 when the car is not even with me !!!

HERTS INSURANCE is now STERLING CAR insurance.

I fund this outfit on go compare. I thought I was looking at the policy details but by mistake I went to the DD page not knowing I had filled in my credit card details. They swooped in took£55.00 out of my account. I called them within 10 minutes explained the mistake. They charged by £26.20 to cancel the policy and for one days insurance. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS LOT. David Flux and his wife make £12 million a year according to companies house. I am on Disability payments, the £26m they kept means I cannot pay my gas bill this week. Really caring outfit - not

Absolutely terrible! I cancelled my insurance within the 2 week cooling off period by email. I cancelled the direct debit with my bank. This company too £147 out of my bank with no authorisation!!

ALSO GO UNDER ONE CALL INSURANCE, THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBERS AND PERMANENT SEND TEXTS SAYING THE POLICY WILL BE CANCELLED AS YOU HAVENT PAID DESPITE PROOF FROM BANKS. CALL CENTRE BASED IN INDIA SO GET NO SENSE FROM LIVE CHAT AFTER WAITING HOURS AND HOURS BECAUSE I WAS NO 345 in the QUEUE!!

Was about to leave the house to collect my new car when I suddenly realised I hadn't informed the insurance company of my change of vehicle. Called at 15.15. My insurance details were changed , new car insured and ready to drive away by the time I reached the dealership at 17.00. Excellent service. That's why I have been with HIC for 9 years.

HIC were very helpful in all ways in sorting out my change of vehicle insurance policy A+++

Molly at HIC customer services was amazing start to finish she went above and beyond. Not only professional and knowledgeable but warm and friendly! Definitely made a change to usual call centre experiences. Thank you Molly! X
