As usual!!!
The car I reserved was available; it was clean; staff was nice and friendly.
Hertz made it work for me.
I reserved a car at a small airport but when I got there the car wasn’t available. I had a family member who was in his final days and I needed to get to Yakima. The young man working there, Nathan, arranged for me to use a car that was needing maintenance soon with the instructions to check in with Hertz along the way in case I needed to swap out the car. I had to extend the rental and checked in twice along the way. Everyone I spoke with at Hertz was friendly, kind and helpful. When I returned the car Nathan was working and he was so polite and helpful. My brother in law had passed during this time and one thing I didn’t have to worry about was my rental. Thank you Hertz.
The car was not ready for us
The car was not ready for us. They just started cleaning it after our arrival. The car was not completly clean. There were two old rental contracts inside along with other debris. The seats' upholstery was stained. The interior of the windshield was not cleaned.
All as expected, but
All as expected, however, my loyalty membership could not be linked to my rental and no one was able to help, the Hertz office nor the customer service. I first called the customer service and was told to ask the rental office, and at the office no one was able to assist. By my name and other personal info my membership number should automatically be linked, but apparently that is not the case.
Bad replacement vehicle
We went to pick up our car in Seattle, Washington, only to be told the Nissan Rogue, or similar, was not available, in fact, the only car we have is a Jeep Wrangler. So we had no choice but to take it. It was a 4-wheel drive, so higher off the ground; even though I am in good shape; at 76 and with some knee problems, it was a stretch to get into the Jeep. I found the best way to get out was to turn sideways and slid out. The cabin was no where near a quiet as we expected from the Nissan; I can't tell you how many6 times I had to ask my wife to speak up as I could not hear her very well. The ride was not as nice. The mileage was not as good. The back door was a royal pain-you had to push in the button and then jerk the handle 4 or 5 times to finally get the door open to get to the suitcases. After we got back, I talked to customer service about the car, and they gave us a great big $25 discount. What a joke. On paper they tried to show they had given us a 225.40 refund but that was because they were refunding $220 from our deposit, It was not an adjustment for the vehicle, just money owed back to us because the deposit was larger than we paid.
I would not recommend.
