This isn't a bad story - It's about a love Affair

This isn't a bad story, but sad for me personally. I owned a pair of Hi-Tech GT Strap 59005 sandals. LOVED them!!!!! ... Love may be a bit of an understatement, because i wore them religiously. They were stylish, functional, and very comfortable. I started wearing sandals observing my (military doctor's) order, and struggled with varying degrees of comfort and styling, until i found the found the GT strap.

We had a 7-year relationship, wearing them daily, and having them carry me across the globe: Philippines, Viet Nam, Bolivia, Peru, Italy, Germany, UK, Amsterdam, Nairobi, Ghana, Senegal; and on the running track, basketball court, as well as, to the beach, and many many walking tours.

And, now, after longer than 7 years, i've walked and run them into oblivion. I'm impressed with the quaility, the durability, the comfort ... and i now have to find another pair of sandals to love. :-)

Big Love to Hi-Tech .... thank you !

Not good

We purchased the shoes, men's trail shoes, for school use. Within one month they've fallen apart. The sole has separated from the top and sole has holes in it.

they are a good mid price option…

they were the only mid price option that were comfortable in the shop and have remained so for
9 years now.
the tops started leaking after 5 years partially due to wearing though the waterproof layer and the outer faux?? leather layer cracking off fixed with exterior wood flexi-paint in similar colour.
the soles started pulling away and leaked at 7 years but fixed with now nails type wood colour squeeze tube .
tops started leaking again recently (9 years) but fixed with more wood stain paint.

Terrible quality

Terrible quality. I bought a waterproof shoe and the glue between the sole and the upper came unstuck on the second wear. Crazy! A complete waste of money. You get what you pay for - cheap price and not fit for function.

hi tec storm

Not a great boot. The sole is much too stiff for the boot construction and doesn't bend easily when walking. You feel like you are flat footed! Tiring to wear them because of this and painful 'shin splints' . Not recommended. Maybe the leather option would be better.

The shoes for every day life.

The shoes i have had, have been comfortable (broad feet) and lasted 8 years exceptionally well.
Canvas, with single moulded sole
soles are still good, could do with vent holes due to the materials don't breathe however i enjoy comfort.
Purchased 2008 and still wear them once a week every week.

Had my men's boots size 10 a couple of years, bought them because I have wide feet and these were comfortable and supportive. Sadly, yesterday during a fortunately short walk, I noticed both my feet were wet. On taking the boots off I noticed they had split where the welt joins the upper. Same place on both boots, on the inside, 2" splits. Out of warranty but I'd expect a better lifespan than this. Not buying this brand again

Dreadful quality and endurance

I wouldn't buy another pair of their boots or trainers after my latest experience. I was using the footwear for daily dog walking duties, so hardlly hill walking on more demanding terrain.
In both cases within a matter of weeks, the soles were delaminating from the upper material, making walking a rather uncomfortable sodden experience.
In an effort to at least get some usage of the shoes and boots, I repaired both with a rubber soul adhesive. Both are "dry" walking shoes only now, as they unfortunately still let in wetter conditions, however at least they don't flap open like the gaping mouth of an alligator.
Better to spend more by purchasing a quality set of boots that will last - more economical in the long run.

Brought a pair of haraka shoes.

Brought a pair of haraka shoes.
Wish I had of read the reviews before I did.
They must surely be the very worst shoes hitec have ever produced.
The sole is pathetic.
The sole wore completely out after a very short time.

I bought Hi Tec Womens Adventure shoes

I bought Womens Adventure 'waterproof' shoes in January 22 but only started using them over the (very dry) summer. Although very comfy, like other reviewers, once the rain came I found them anything but waterproof. Oddly, the right shoe is reasonably OK but the left soaks-in even the lightest shower. Once I had to dry it near a radiator to use the next day and the outside material burned off. I would not buy them again.

Dishonest company

Got some "waterproof" shoes they lasted about 200 metres to the shop in a light rain before they soaked through, literally lieing to people, don't know how they get away with it, immoral company

I walk a couple miles everyday and these boots were great for 2 months and 3 days. On that day the seam on the front separated about 2 inches from bad manufacturing making them useless. After being blown off at the stores I decided I would never buy another pair of that brand.

Avoid Hi-Tec

I bought a pair of allegedly waterproof boots. They even had 'waterproof' written on them. They were not remotely waterproof and were soaked through on their first outing after a few minutes walking on damp grass.
I complained to Hi-Tec and in effect they told me to get lost.

The worst hiking shoe ever!!

The worst hiking shoe ever!!! Took these on the Napali Coast and they fell apart. First the outer sole, then the next sole. Left me feeling like I was walking barefoot on rocks! Only reputable shoe reviews from now on.

Bought a pair of Caha walking boots in…

Bought a pair of Caha walking boots in December for daily dog walking in the hills. They are supposed to be waterproof but after only a few wears this failed badly. After 3 months wear the uppers have started to develop splits where the foot creases. These are mid price boots (£75-£100) and I think we should be able to expect better than this.
