I would like to commend Bongani for his professional conduct and excellent customer etiquette. My concern relates to staffing levels and systems. There were insufficient staff members available at the front to assist customers, which meant Bongani had to cover multiple roles. Furthermore, due to system limitations, I was required to process two separate transactions because one item was held at the warehouse. This is an area where Hifi Corp could improve.

Bought a TCL 32" TV
Bought a TCL 32" TV. I was helped by Mcebisi Ngobo at Midlands Mall, Pietermaritzburg. He was the very best I have ever had service from a floor assistant. Hence 5 stars for HiFi corp. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Knew his product and kept a conversation going on many topics. I hope he is appreciated by HiFi corp as a asset to their company. The TV is as expected and a good product.
Paid R12,018 for TV – Told 5 Days Later There Is No Stock
I placed an online order with HiFi Corp on 20/02/2026 for a Hisense 85” 85A6N television and paid R12,018.00 in full.
The product is reflected as available at the time of purchase.
Five days later, I was contacted and informed that there is no stock available “near me.” I was then told to contact the online division myself to resolve the issue. No ownership was taken.
After escalation, I was advised that the product was a “clearance line” with limited stock and that HiFi Corp is not obliged to source stock or offer an equivalent.
While a refund was offered, the delay in communication, the dismissive handling of the matter, and the internal stock mismanagement were extremely disappointing.
Customers should not pay in full for products that are not actually available.
I hope HiFi Corp improves internal stock controls and customer service accountability

They were claiming that they’ve been trying to call but my phone doesn’t go through even my alternative number but surprisingly when they were trying to prove a point it went through. They take advantage of the clients age. I highly do not recommend buying in store rather a person buys online. Thank you
Scammed of my money
I ordered a tablet on 10/12/25. No communication was then made to track my order or anything until the 19th of December, when I was told my order was already in the refund process. For the past two months, I have not received my refund despite sending my proof of banking details on the 19th of December. Today is already the 5th of February 2026. I am genuinely starting to think it was all a scam. Don't recommend buying from them online.

I bought a ps5 2024 December and now in January 2026. 1 month after my warranty expires. I asked hi fi corp if they can help me with my ps5 it keeps throwing me out of all my games after 5min of playing, i ask if they can repair the ps5 and Pearlene the manager told me that they can not help me with the repair of my ps5 do to the warranty expired and was not very helpful gave me the nummer of Gamefintiy that does not work and i must Google for help because they will not help me.I will never buy anything at Hi Fi Corp because all the goods only last a 1year what i waste of R13 000.
Unethical practices at HiFi. Corporation
I recently ordered online for an item from hifi corporation, stock was confirmed, order placed and paid, funds taken off my credit card. A day later I receive a call from Cresta branch indicating that the item had been sold to someone else after I placed my order and they no longer have stock. This in itself is unethical. In addition to this, I was informed that they will refund my payment in 7-14 days. Again, highly unethical. The two issues here are the facts that they saw fit to sell the items I had already purchased from under me, and then hold in to my funds for an extended period. Why should I bear the cost of their error. In discussing with their staff, they were completely unhelpful with this matter, and simply passed it on to another department who did not come back to me. I followed up with a their online complaints department and only received a response indicating it had been passed on to the relant person. No call to date, nearly a week later. Absolutely pathetic, considering their statement that they provide excellent customer satisfaction and have empowered staff. Clearly the company condone unethical practices as I have detailed, are not committed to customer service, and definitely do not have empowered staff as this was simply passed on to another person with no follow up.

I received outstanding service from one of the employees at HiFiCorp(PEPKOR) at Canal Walk. The employee (Mbuso Mkumbuzi) was extremely helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure doing business with him and I will definitely return for future business when being served by someone like him. THANK YOU Mbuso!!
Poor communication
I ordered a bed on the 10th of October and was given a delivery date of 16th of October, I used they WhatsApp Portal to reschedule the delivery for the 18th , come the 17th I'm given another date of the 20th and mind you the 18th has not been cancelled, I called the center to ask To finout why the double dates they assured me the delivery will be done on the 18th no later then 5pm. It's the 18th I've been waiting all day no cancelation sms or reschedule nothing from them , I call the center on the 19th so ask what happen they tell me it's been rescheduled for 19th and at this point I got no sms no communication regarding this , they expect me to wait around all weekend for them when they don't even communite as to what's going on.
