Love Hargreaves & been with them over 15 years. Really thoughtful & professional product & app but it is all premium priced so you do pay for the good service, so it should be expected. I think they... See more

I had an issue setting up a monthly investment online, so I called HL! Unlike most other companies who use AI bots I spoke to a proper customer service agent, a human who quickly sorted my issue out in minutes! A great service so don’t lose that HL, dealing directly with a human is far more efficient!! This wasn’t written using AI!!

I wanted to move some money from one type of investment to another, something I had not done before. Fortunately the orocess itself was quite straightforward and I was quickly and easily able to speak to real people who were very patient in taking me through the process and showing me how to do each step along the way as I got there. Really good service leaving me reassured that I had not made any errors.

The new app layout is awful. Its meant to be easier to navigate but is anything but. Lots of gripes but the main one is that the title bar at the top of the page does not lock in place so you keep having to return to the top of your investment list to change what you want to look at.
A stupid oversight by designers that have never used it on a daily basis.

The website is fairly easy to navigate, with lots of useful information and help if needed.

I recently transferred my pension to HL. So far I have experienced timely actions and regular updates on progress. It's easy to get through to customer support on the phone and everyone has been very helpful.

My experience with the ISA service was disappointing and very different from the standard of service I have received elsewhere.
What concerned me most was the lack of meaningful service recovery when problems arose. Rather than taking ownership of the issues and working to restore my confidence, concerns had not been properly addressed. Ultimately, this led me to transfer my ISA to another provider.
In contrast, my experience with the SIPP service has been considerably better. The difference in customer service between the two has been so significant that it almost feels as though they are operated by different companies. The SIPP element of HL is 5*
I can only comment on my own experience, but I hope the consistency of customer service across both products is reviewed and improved.

I won’t be providing information through trustpilot to pass on to yourselves. If you were truly looking to provide support you should do this through your own service via contact made directly. This has been raised directly with yourselves and ongoing for a year therefore there is no value in me providing duplicate info via this forum but I have reviewed your service on this site to allow others to research and make their own decision on the services you provide.

Disappointed, I'm locked out of my app, the reset link doesn't work, I contacted support, was told I'd get a callback, it never happened. I was going to transfer a large amount to them, having second thoughts now.

Urgent message sent on 31st July still no answer on 5th august. Using their secure messages.
Appalling service.
How can anyone rely on them for financial matters.
After 5 days I sent another message asking if they could please reply to the urgent message. Today I finally got an answer saying that they had passed my message on to another team.
Basically no answer yet a week later.
They also sent an email asking me to confirm my details which I replied to immediately and of course have not received any reply to that.

I've been with Hargreaves Lansdown for a good many years. I am also with one of their main competitors and a few old school providers.
Hargreaves Lansdown have accessible and helpful customer service. Over the last few years I've had to deal with unexpected complexity over my dual citizenship and they've been fast and adaptable to do so. They just delivered a last minute request in record time, for my convenience.

HL used to be really good, but it's getting worse and worse. 1. Telephone assistance is appalling; long waits and when you finally get through, the HL person hardly speaks English. It wasn't like that in the old days ( I've been with HL for nearly 20 years), when you got instant phone help from intelligent English people. 2. It's also got worse when you message them; they give you only half an answer, so you have recontact them to get the info you need - another indication of the declining quality of the staff. HL's fees are the highest in the business, so why can't they afford decent people? Answer: they can afford decent staff, but someone high up is milking the profits - to the detriment of their clients. I've got four accounts for members of my family, so I'm going to close them all.

I use HL for my SIPP and also put some money into their Active Savings service. Now I need to withdraw a few thousand pounds. HL says I must add a nominated bank account, so I follow their online instructions. The website then tells me that this cannot be done online and that I must call them. I call, only to be told that the phone service is unavailable too. Apparently, at 5:45 pm on a weekday, nobody can help and there is no way to do it online. Some digital service this is. Taking the money was easy; getting it back is another story. Welcome to banking, 1998 edition.
::::Additional comment following HL’s reply::::
HL’s reply adds nothing useful. It simply confirms my original point: if their online system fails, your only option is to call during their Helpdesk opening hours. I called the following day, waited about ten minutes while listening to jazz, and then spent another 15–20 minutes on the phone. After completing the security checks, I repeated the same online steps while the adviser stayed on the line. Apparently, something was unlocked at their end, and the operation finally worked. So, if you work normal hours, you can spend a good part of your lunch break sorting this out — if you are lucky. Alternatively, try to catch their three-hour Saturday window. A digital service, provided you have time to phone them.

HL have spent a lot of time and money changing the phone App only to make it far less user friendly and more time consuming to use, please give me my old app back. You now have to make several key presses to achieve what could previously have been done with one, the Overview page is a waste of time and they have created two pages to do what was previously done with one. If the total value of the fund, total gain and daly gain where at the to of the investment page and did not disappear when you scroll down, there would be no need for the Overview page. They have also taken away the total holding and initial cost tab. For this information you now have to dig into each share. The Option tabs now also disappear when you scroll down so you have to keep scrolling back to the top of the page to change from value to market price. PLEASE GIVE ME MY OLD APP BACK
It was pointless sending you a review of your APP since nothing anyone says is going to get you say you have made a mistake in the changes you have made. If you think that leaving your customers to get on with it will mean that they will just get used to it you are wrong. I use this APP many times every day and the more that I use it the more frustrating it is and the moor flaws I find in it. I suppose this just one more reason why I should move my account.
