A great selection of model aircraft, it was difficult to choose what to get a young boy for his 10th Birthday; however, in the end I got an Airfix Starter Kit which included not only the model Haw... See more

Absolutely love their range of paint and craft items.
Only place I buy my canvases from.
I love browsing the store or just a lazy scroll on their website.
They have decent deals on sometimes too.

I bought £22.50 worth of Just Roll with it icing.
For my Granddaughters birthday cake.
I didnt need it in the end. I took it back with in the same bag as I bought it in, with receipts a few days later. Absolutely untouched.
At the point of sale I wasn't told I couldn't return it. It wasnt opened not touched at all.
I was told when I asked, its company policy not to refund on edible purchases.
I thought this was unreasonable. In supermarkets only frozen or refrigerated or perishables come under this umbrella.
The expiary date on it is Jan 2027.
An actual superhero
Riverside Norwich store. I work in customer service training. I've purchased from this store a good few times and the staff are always at 100% peak performance. Natural, super helpful and organically communicative. But Numea (apologies if this is spelled wrong) is possibly the most skilled customer service provider I've ever seen. She is always naturally joyful, complimentive and consummately professional. I sincerely hope she is recognised for this gift and is sufficiently rewarded by her employers and by life in general. She has the kind of reputation that transcends the store and I know there is only success in her future. Absolutely well done.
I would never purchase online again.

I purchased yarn from them the 9th of April, order paid and confirmed by my Paypal. I didn't receive any emails from hobbycarft confirming order number, or tracking information.
Today (16 of April) I contacted them over the phone, phone doesn't work. Went to the chat and they advised and gave me tracking number that I did not have, that the item was delivered. I said I don't have it but I have a rindoor camera, so while on the chat with the agent from hobbycraft I checked and I can see the royal mail person that attempted delivery, I wasn't home so the person thought it good to leave the parcel inside the blue recycling bin... this was Monday the 13th, and the 14th is blue bin collection for my area, so the parcel went to the bin with the collection truck. I said to the lady I have the video with the timestamp, parcel, and the person putting the item on the bin and she still tells me I have to wait for investigation. I now contacted them again as I needed the order number (as I never got the email as I explained before) and asked if she received the email from me with the video (I replied to an email she send me to fill out a form) and she refuses to confirm if they have received it over email.
My latest chat:

Increasingly disappointing
Having been a quite frequent customer of Hobbycraft for many years I feel that it has been going downhill for the past couple of years now with regards to what is stocked in my usual store in Warrington. Today's visit left me feeling very disappointed, firstly I felt that it is starting to resemble a toy store with much of the stock aimed at kids rather than adult crafters and that the crafts that are catered for have been much reduced in stock availability so that there are just a few items to support the craft. I realise that things go in and out of fashion but I like many different crafts and didn't find anything that I'd hoped to find and spend my gift voucher on, in the end I just chose a set of 8 Winsor & Newton calligraphy inks which cost £29 but on checking against The Range's prices when I got home I realised I could have bought all of those colours, exact same brand and volume for £17.20 showing just how overpriced Hobbycraft has become! (Individual bottle price Hobbycraft £4.30, The Range £2.15!) I very much doubt I will visit the store in future, I'd rather buy online where I can price check against other retailers to avoid being ripped off. The staff in store though have always been friendly and helpful, it would be a shame to have any more stores closing because of a decline in in-person shoppers, etc but it just isn't worth the journey anymore. And whether it's through company survival or pure greed I'm sure that double the price of other retailers for the exact same product would be a big discouragement to anybody though I do hold myself accountable for not checking comparisons before purchasing.
Appalled
I’ve been a loyal customer of Hobbycraft since they opened the Thurmaston store in Leicestershire. Recently this store has become disorganised and worst of all its dirty! The staff are unhelpful and very difficult to even find, I was looking for some Easter Fabric and orange yarn. First member of staff I approached (having spent 10 mins trying to find someone) shrugged me off with “if it’s not over there we’ve not got any”
Onto the yarn shelves, where a young lady was stocking the shelves. Found the colour I needed but on inspection could see that the ball bands had come off and the yarn was unraveling. There were dust and dirt all through the balls and clumps of dust in all the cubbyholes. I showed this to the member if staff and she said oh yes it is a bit dusty and proceeded to brush the dust off expecting me to buy it.
I left quickly and won’t be back
Absolutely love hobbycraft

unpleasant experience of purhcase
I went to Charlton's shop and bought GBP5.5 products. System was wrong and charged me GBP6 (which overcharged GBP0.5). I went back and staff was helpful to check. However, the manager said system can handle refund of GBP0.11 only. Attitude made me feel like I am begging for money. I was confused and explained the calculation to her. I got money back at the end. Felt upset, not because of little money but just felt "as is what as is, you have to accept it".
I’m feeling let down
I’m feeling let down. Company is good but using the Royal Mail is a disaster. My parcel has not been delivered and now it’s nowhere to be found. This is the 2nd parcel in a week do vanish.

I visit Hobbycraft Kingsway Derby quite frequently. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. I visited the store recently and Sophie went above and beyond to help me. She offered some good advice and explained my best options through demonstration. She made my shopping experience very pleasant by her grace, patience and overall lovely demeanor. Thank you.
Good value for money 👍
Great service!
Visited the Selly Oak branch, in Birmingham.
Bought four A3 frames, for prints I have. Couldn’t decide on whether to have black of silver frames. Not a life changing decision but I’m hopeless deciding anything! A store assistant came to my rescue, when I asked her advice, after showing one of the prints on my phone. She gave her honest opinion and that swung me towards the black frames.
I didn’t see her name unfortunately, but if you’re listening Hobbycraft, Selly Oak, she deserves a bonus! I’ve framed the prints I have and she was proved correct in her recommendation, they look fabulous! Thank you. Great service and with a smile. Ever more rare these days I feel.
Amazing Customer Service by Amanda
I ordered several items for Christmas 2025 . . however, I was not able to get along to the store to collect them in time - and duly expected to receive an automatic refund - after the 'collection period' had elapsed.
This did not happen presently, so I contacted the Hobbycraft Customer Services Department and spoke to Amanda - explaining the situation . . .
Amanda was exemplary throughout - even though obviously extremely busy.
She handled the situation with professionalism, good humour & efficiency.
It has been a pleasure dealing with Hobbycraft because of Amanda . . a real asset to the business.
Thank you.
Bad returns experience
I BOUGHT WOOL ON 22 JANUARY TO MAKE A CARDIGAN FOR AN ADULT AND HAD 1 BALL LEFT OVER WHEN ITEM WAS FINISHED I TRIED TO RETURN ON 21ST MARCH FOR A REFUND WITH THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT WAS TOLD THERE IS A 30 DAY REFUND POLICY I MENTIONED TO THE GENTLEMAN IT CAN TAKE A WHILE LONGER TO FINISH AN ADULT KNITTED GARMENT THAN 30 DAYS TO KNOW YOUVE GOT WOOL OVER BUT HE QUITE RUDELY REPEATED THE POLICY , I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH HIS ADDITUDE AND THINK HE COULD HAVE OFFERED AN EXCHANGE AS I HAD THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT
Manager was a super star
My original online order was picked incorrectly but the staff, particularly the store Manager were very helpful in rectifying the situation. Excellent service
Asbestos in children’s craft kit
I purchased a children’s craft kit from Hobbycraft which was later recalled after asbestos contamination was identified in the sand.
What makes this worse is that this issue was not identified by Hobbycraft themselves — it was first discovered by a parent who paid for independent lab testing after recognising similarities with recalled products overseas (Guardian article available online).
By the time the recall was issued, the sand had already been used in our home and garden. As a result, we had to dispose of a sandpit and toys and carry out extensive cleaning as a precaution.
Hobbycraft refunded the £6 product cost — but refused to cover any of the resulting losses (over £150), despite these being a direct consequence of supplying a contaminated product.
The handling has been extremely poor:
• repeated template responses
• refusal to address financial losses
• refusal to provide insurer details
• complaints process closed without resolution
Instead of taking responsibility, the company has relied on generic statements about regulators while ignoring the real impact on customers.
This was a serious product safety issue that appears to have been raised externally before action was taken, and the follow-up customer service has been equally disappointing.
I would not expect this level of response from a national retailer
I bought a model kit and a roll of tape…
I bought a model kit and a roll of tape from Hobbycraft online. I received an email saying I could pick it up. When I went to the Hobbycraft Bolton store, I was surprised to find that the item I ordered was out of stock. The store wanted to substitute another model kit. Why weren't they notified me beforehand that the model I ordered was out of stock? It was a waste of my time and a wasted trip!
