Great Company to Work For
I work for Home Instead Bedford and what a refreshing company to work for! I came from a care home background where I had spent 3 years and the transition to domiciliary care was different but I was supported by this in every way. I now love being a part of keeping clients in their own homes and working for a company where the clients needs are at the heart of all we do. We have a fantastic care team that go above and beyond for their clients, they're not afraid to learn new skills and adapt alongside their clients journeys. The care team and the office team are very well supported and are often recognised for the work they do in lots of different ways. Overall a great place to work.
Fantastic Support for My Mother-in-Law
Fantastic Support for My Mother-in-Law
We arranged home care for my mother-in-law after she was discharged from the hospital with pneumonia. The Home Instead Altrincham & Sale team provided 2-hour visits, four times a week, which made a huge difference in her recovery. The Care Professionals helped her with her prescribed exercises, assisted with food shopping (which she loved going on, as she doesn’t drive), and supported her with household tasks like changing bedding, keeping up with laundry, and cooking fresh meals—something that was really important to her.
Now that she’s fully recovered, she still has one visit a week, which allows her to enjoy trips out and a big shop. This has been a huge help for Alan and me, as we both work full-time. Knowing she has support during the week means that when we visit at the weekend, we can truly relax and spend quality time together.
The care and dedication from Home Instead Altrincham & Sale is invaluable, and we’re so grateful for their ongoing support. Highly recommend!
I work for home instead Leigh and I can…
I work for home instead Leigh and I can honestly say it’s the best company I have ever worked for. The owners care passionately for our clients and staff. Our staff always go the extra mile for our clients and are amazing.
Home instead is an incredible company…
Home instead is an incredible company to be apart of.
They really care about the client and staff and it’s one big family.
Great company who truly care
Great company who truly care about their employees and their clients.
Personalised care is promoted and the training is top class.
Home Instead Rugby
I have worked for Home Instead Rugby since November, never doing care before, I have had all of the in house training required to set me up for providing the best care I possibly can for my clients. If ever I am not happy with anything I know that the door is always open and there will always be someone there to support or help when needed. Even better is that I know first hand the care the clients get is great. I feel privileged to work for such a great team. I made a great decision joining the Home Instead Rugby team!
Exemplary Service
I write to express my sincere thanks and for the support and service you have given June and Myself over the last 18 months, the care, support, compassion and courtesy has been exemplary. Every carer has displayed professionalism and understanding, I will be eternally grateful for the love and care that was afforded. Sent with much love and respect.
Exceptional care and compassion
Home Instead took the time to match the perfect carer to my aunt. She now has companionship and the support she needs. A first class service
Professional and compassionate service
Every carer we have had has been professional, kind and reliable. The whole team is wonderful.
I am a caregiver for home instead
I am a caregiver for home instead, for over 4 years now. Brilliant company to work for. All staff members are professional and we are provided with fantastic training throughout, plenty of opportunities to improve our service to our clients. I enjoy how our visits are not rushed, building great relationships with each client, working within our area of residence. There is always a warm welcome to any communication required, always there to offer advice when needed. Highly recommend for clients and caregivers.
Outstanding Care and Support
Home Instead has been amazing. Their carers are kind, professional, and truly care about the people they support. The personalised approach makes such a difference—matching clients with the right care professional creates real, lasting connections. The team is always responsive and reliable, giving families peace of mind. If you're looking for compassionate, high-quality home care, I can't recommend them enough!
Don't use this company
Don't use this company. I remember Megan Thomson the Client lead of South Glasgow visiting our home making big promises and selling a dream of her staff who'd apparently free me up from my caring duties and they'd do things like "make a pot of soup" and "let me go for hobbies or a coffee and get me back to being me" Reality? Staff who turn up and do nothing for the hour or shout on me to assist them or leave me to do all the work - none of them brought the required PPE like aprons or gloves so I had to provide them. Final insult was the Pamela Cowan the Service manager saying after an hour long meeting she agreed we'd had bad service and would sort it we're still weeks later receiving invoices for payments - Avoid avoid avoid. Zero stars for everything which the website doesn't allow!
Lincoln branch
Lincoln branch. Very poor training. Mostly done at home. They say they'll pay you for the time, but I never got it. You pay your own DBS (I should've realised then) They give you a few shadow shifts, not nearly enough. Then, expect you to know what you're doing. They give very little time to get to the next person, and if your late, you use your own time. Fuel is 35p a mile. Not nearly enough. All the care plans are out of date, so I felt unprofessional for not knowing the facts. I never felt supported once. Noone asked me if I was OK. Some of the clients just need a cleaner & they're paying £30 and hour for carers?!
When i had an interview, I told the manager of my upcoming doctors appointments I'd be having & when I asked for an hour off I got a very rude email back stating they wouldn't let me. The care director & her minions are the most rude & unhelpful 'people' i have ever worked for in my 25 year career in care. I left the place after a very unhappy 2.5 months, & will never ever use this company! Please, do yourself a favour & get a care career with the council. They're the only place that will treat you right!
There is a lack of communication and…
There is a lack of communication and Fred Mairet the manager is heartless, as well as his side kick Emma Blout. Since April 2020 I am still waiting for hours to be available for me to work. This is now coming up to 5 years of not hearing from them. Why haven't you sent back my p60 since e you cannot fulfill the contract. Why are you still holding on to my documents. Should I have to seek advice from a professional in how to obtain my documentation. I hope I get a response as I have already emailed and WhatsApp a message, yet I have had no response as of today 7 February 2025. This company is a shambles.
Lack of customer service
This a really strange review, not least of all because no one from Home Instead responded to a query I made last week re 'home assistance' for my elderly mother - which is really the nature of my complaint to be fair.
I went onto the Home Instead UK website last week and filled out a form to enquire about costings. Only no one got back to me. I phoned the national helpline this morning to make further enquires only to be told they don't support our postcode area. Would it not have been more professional and courteous of someone to call and advise me of this fact?
It does make me wonder what level of services they do actually provide!
Caring and Professional Company
We have been very pleased with the care for our Dad in Surrey. Lovely people caring for him and has helped him feel much happier.
Carers…really
I'm not too sure why, but people that call themselves carers are often not very nice people
Back during lockdown I was interviewed by this company. At first I thought it was a nice place but then they started being horrible and condescending towards me.
I realised later the one of their colleagues was someone strange who had been hate campaigning me for quite a while; 15 years actually.
Since then I've made it quite difficult for hate campaigners and on the date below Lucia from home instead tried to add me on Facebook.
I did ring her and asked her why she had put a request in for somebody that she had helped to hate campaign.
Her boyfriend made a offensive joke's and slurs on my mental health, when all I was doing was asking a question.
I resent your company trying to hate campaign me.
I realised it was your colleague that started the hate campaign as all the hate campaigners seem to be carers and not just from home instead.
You would think if you was going to hate campaign somebody that you would not use just carers because what you've done is alert me to the fact of who started it.
I'm not going to mention her name here but she knows who she is.
Hate campaigning is when people spread hate speech to harm or upset and make others have poor opinion of them and promote prejudice.
Please don't think you're clever and please don't do it again.
Mid Cornwall Team
I can’t speak highly enough of the Mid-cornwall team Who step up to look after my dad at a minutes notice
Thank you so much to Patrick, Libby and their dedicated team of girls
Rip Off Small Print in Contract
Terrible company, the business model is to rip off customers using unfair terms in the small print. They insisted on levying a £20 per month "subscription" charge after my father in law went into care while his arm was broken but failed to point that out when we spoke, had they done so I would have that point cancelled the care package permanently. Very poor practice, relying on contract small print to try and catch customers out. Even worse, now that I have told them that the care package is permanently cancelled they are still trying to levy a £20 charge each future month until the disputed bill is settled. These are grossly unfair contract terms and I don't think would stand up to any legal challenge.
