Great in every way

This was actually for a trip a while ago, forgot to write the review, then found his business card in a forgotten suit. Booked him to take me from a wedding in the middle of nowhere to the train station. He arrived 15 minutes early but didn't rush me, just sat there happily until I'd done the goodbyes. Great vehicle, professional driving, friendly but didn't try to push conversation. A memorably good cab ride. Cheers!

I would like to highlight a deeply unpleasant and unprofessional experience I had with a private hire operator trading under several names:

Booking Date: 19th July 2025

Job Date: 20th July 2025

Pickup: Flex by Sheraton, Euston

Drop-off: London Gatwick Airport

Agreed Fare: £70.00

Agreed Payment Date: 25th July 2025

💸 Payment Issues
On the agreed date (25th July), I received only £40.00 of the fare. I contacted the operator regarding the £30.00 shortfall. Their response was:

“I need to wait one hour to make payment to new account.”

This raised red flags immediately. After over 20 years in the industry, from managing offices to driving, I found it troubling that a business couldn’t manage a full £70.00 payment.

On 28th July, I followed up again—no reply.

On 29th July, they responded:

“Thanks for reminding me. Doing it now.”

I acknowledged with:

“OK thanks.”

Still, the balance was not paid. Later that day I asked:

“All okay?”

They replied:

“I owe you £30.00, this week along with the payment.”

This message made no sense, so I asked for clarification. Again—no reply.

Today, 1st August 2025, I have still not received the remaining £30.00. I attempted to call multiple times—calls were declined. I sent one final message:

“Hi, need to speak to accounts please.”
No response.

⚠️ A Warning to Drivers and Customers
This kind of dishonesty and poor communication is unacceptable, especially over such a small amount. It’s not about the money—it’s about integrity. We drivers face daily challenges and work hard to deliver reliable, on-time service. In return, we expect to be paid in full and on time—a basic professional courtesy.

I will be formally reporting this operator to:

Transport for London (TfL)

The appropriate ombudsman and industry bodies

If you are a driver or customer considering engaging with any of these brands, please proceed with extreme caution.

Let’s hold such operators accountable and protect the integrity of our profession.

Terrible customer service AVOID

Terrible customer service, incompetent and poorly trained.

Our flight was cancelled and we were lucky enough get rebooked on an earlier British Airways flight, I called Home James to update the booking in the light of this and they could not have cared less.
The measure of a company is how they respond in emergency situations - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Luckily our driver was in the area we was available but Home James hadn't updated his schedule.
Just terrible.

Dangerous driving and rude abusive response

We witnessed dangerous driving of one of their vehicles in a reduced speed zone on the motorway. They undertook cars and were speeding excessively. We messaged them to inform them of their drivers reckless driving and received verbal abuse back. They called us “muppets” and told us to “go do one”. They said they weren’t speeding, which is worrying, potentially they can’t read road signs, or worse, do not know the Highway Code. To portray yourself as a respectable business and then write abuse in response to a concern is outrageous. Would not recommend.

Car not big enough for my family

I booked an airport transfer from Heathrow to London through booking.com on Home James. I booked for 3 people, which was the size of my group, but the day before I left, the reminder said that there would be room for 2 people and 2 suitcases. I contacted booking.com to try to change to 3 people and 3 suitcases, but they were unable to get in touch with Home James (so they said). I canceled but because it was 23 hours before the booking, I was not refunded any money. Booking.com was also extremely unhelpful.

Car not big enough for suitcases

Booked via holiday extras for airport transfer for 3 people. Arrived on time but car not suitable as could not fit our cases. We had 1 suitcase each. Driver said we should have booked a 7 seater. Annoyingly our bags would probably have fitted if the driver wasn’t carrying a crate of water bottles and the parcel shelf in the car. Expected more common sense for an airport transfer. We sent him away and coughed up for airport parking instead

Didn’t turn up at 2.30am!!

I booked a taxi to Gatwick airport from my home in Farnham, a 2.30am pick up. They didn’t turn up, no one on the phone lines including the emergency line. We ended up driving ourselves and parking in the long term car park at a cost! It’s taken them over 3 months to refund the parking cost with no recognition of the stress involved being left with no taxi in the middle of the night! No, I wouldn’t use again.

Flexible and direct travel, AMAZING!
