Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 128 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently mention that the staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and always take the necessary time to explain the entire process clearly without making anyone feel pressured. Many consumers appreciate the remarkably fast response times and find the support team to be exceptionally professional, polite, and reassuring throughout. However, some people also noted frustrating issues with communication delays and felt dissatisfied when dealing with the assigned external solicitors. A small group of reviewers felt that the broker setup ultimately led to a stressful experience due to inadequate handling and poor responsiveness.

Mark offered fantastic customer service…

Mark offered fantastic customer service and clarity on things. Really appreciated the step by step guidance as a first time buyer. It was also incredibly useful to be able to talk to someone on a weekend, I don't think I would have been able to get everything sorted on time otherwise.

Do not trust this organisation

Do not trust this organisation.
As a previous review has stated they are Brokers.
I was given a quote for a straightforward forward transfer of deeds, from joint names into a sole owner. No monies to be exchanged and no morgage. The entire quote was £560, with £150 deposit, now that everything has been completed, i now owe £485, of which they say its third party fees included, so what your actually quoted, you will not pay.
The whole process took, Four Months, for a straightforward transfer. The firm of solicitors that they used were slow, inadequate, I was constantly chasing them, had to do some of the work myself, ie contact my former mortgage lender to remove a charge as the paralegal clearly didn't understand what a charge was, stating that I had to pay my former mortgage lender to remove their name, which was not correct.
I raised concerns on many occasions, about the misinformation, timing and rudeness that I was experiencing from the solicitors that they instructed, if i dared to state i was unhappy.
It was a horrible, upsetting, stressful experience, and ill be happy never having to deal with any of them again.
Although Joshua Harper, would respond, when I contacted him out of desperation, just to get this simple Deed transfer concluded, I still feel pricing is misleading, and the law firms they use are substandard.
Many times I contacted the law firm,to ask why things were taking so long for a simple straightforward trsnsfer of Deeds, and was chastised like a child, telling me I was unprofessional, because I asked a question, that they didn't like.
Absolutely awful experience, please do not trust the reviews.

Dear Ka,

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and I am sorry that the experience fell so far short, this is not the sort of experience we would expect any client to receive.

Homeward Legal offer Guaranteed Fixed Legal Fees which ensures the legal fees do not change. What it cannot cover is disbursements, which are third-party costs such as Land Registry fees, though we will always factor in every standard 3rd party fee that arises so you have the clearest picture known at the time of instruction. These are set and charged by the third party rather than by us or by the solicitor, no firm is able to fix them, and they are itemised separately on every quotation we issue alongside the legal fee. I accept that the distinction between the two is not always as clear to clients as it is to us, and that is feedback we will act on in how we present our quotes.

On the conduct of the firm, that concerns me a great deal more. Being spoken to dismissively is not acceptable, and I will be raising it with the firm directly.

If you would like me to continue to look into the fees and the service you received, please do contact me directly at joshua.harper@homewardlegal.co.uk and I will deal with it personally and work to find a solution to rectify this if I can.

Homeward legal has been absolutely…

Homeward legal has been absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. As first time buyers they have answered all our questions and put our minds at ease. Unfortunately our first property fell through but with their no completion no fee guarantee the money we put in didn’t go to waste! Joshua has been absolutely brilliant!

Impressed

I am very impressed with the service provided by Homeward Legal. I wouldn’t rate Mark, as he didn’t respond to my emails, spoke too fast and was hard to get in contact with. But the other workers were helpful.

It’s also good to bear in mind that it isn’t necessarily a fixed rate, as Solicitors can add on extra money if they need to complete extra work.

Other than the above, I am happy and satisfied with the service provided by Homeward Legal. Thank you for helping me get my dream house!

Definitely recommend Homeward Legal

James has been incredibly helpful through this stage of our house purchase and has made a stressful process much easier. He got in touch very quickly but was not at all pushy - I had time to get several quotes and speak with different companies. I came back to Homeward Legal as James talked me through the process and gave me more confidence than any others. I would definitely recommend Homeward Legal.

this was my first-time to use solicitor…

this was my first-time to use solicitor for my property sold in auction and since the auction price my property at only £3,000 a big loss nevertheless had to complete the sale and found Homeward Legal and the first call I made it was Mark Mclauchlan who answered my call.
Not knowing him and the company the way he responded to my concern made me feel very comfortable and felt all my stress had gone .
Thank you Mark
There after my case was referred to two law firms
however for the follow up I always rang Homeward Legal as I was of the opinion that they are the company handling my case.
I must say that all the personals who responded were all polite and accommodative for a lay person.
In particular I must acknowledge my appreciation to Mr Joshua who was always there to assist me
thank you Homeward Legal will always use your services in future

Complete waste of time and money

Complete waste of time and money. I would advise anyone looking for a solicitor to bypass this company and go direct. They charge to make your life easier, promise a 'fixed fee' and then disappear. My fee was double in the end. You can't get through on the phone most of the time and getting a reply to an email is even worse. I feel like the good reviewers here have been paid to be written.

Hi Cerys,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and I am sorry to read about your experience.

I have tried to locate your file using the details shown on your review, but I have not been able to match it to a case on our system. I would genuinely like to look into what has happened here, and to understand where the additional costs came from, as our Fixed Legal Fee policy means the legal fee agreed at the outset should not change. In the rare instance a total does increase, it is usually because a third-party disbursement has arisen that was not known at the time of the quote (by you or us), and I would want to explain that properly rather than leave you with the impression that the fee was simply changed.

If you are able to email me directly at joshua.harper@homewardlegal.co.uk with your name, the property address and your quote reference, I will pick this up personally and come back to you.

Kind Regards,

Would reccomend

Very easy to call and get in contact, was represented and helped by Joshua Thomas who made the process as easy and informative as possible. I was looking for advice and help with a transfer of equity and was pleasantly surprised with the cost provided by this legal firm. Great service and transparency.
