Awful service.

Ordered three made to measure dresses. Two were ok, although unflattering. One was competely awful. I complained, and was told to return for a refund. Dress was sent via recorded deliver and no refund received, all communication from HPB ceased. Money was recovered via paypal claim.

Poor communications, unable to meet required specifications

I ordered a custom wedding dress from Honeypie Boutique (honeypieboutique.co.uk) at the end of January, with a 10-12 week production time advised by the company. Amy was initially helpful in getting me to the point where I was ready to place my order, answering my questions quickly and making reassuring 'noises' in her replies. After I placed my order I heard no more from Amy until I sent queries about the status of my order, which she responded to after a couple of days. Three and a half months later I still hadn't received my dress, and was told that they had forgotten to add the time to create the pattern on to the lead time (even though this must have to be done for every custom-made dress). I received the petticoat, followed two or three weeks later by the dress. When I received it I thought I had received someone else's, it was so different to what I had specified: the wrong colour, fabric not as requested, and the wrong sleeves. I raised this immediately with Amy who only responded after I started the PayPal dispute process. She said she could only think they had been too busy to properly read my requirements and check what they had made against them.

I would not recommend this company: the pre-sales attention was great, but after placing the order communications were non-existent without me chasing them. They weren't able to make what I requested in spite of detailed specifications and measurements being sent. I have learnt my lesson and have managed to find a local dressmaker - I would recommend that you do the same if you want a 50s style dress.
