Unknowledgeable Staff

I receive their catalog in the mail. They had a cute Funko pop I wanted in it. I called the location near me and asked if they had any in the store. The woman on the phone said “We don’t have that Funko pop in the store. We’ve never had it in the store. And we never will.” I went into that location a few days later. They had several of the Funko pop I called about. Their store is also way too crammed. You don’t really have room to walk around, especially if there’s other customers.

I love that they endorse my favorite…

I love that they endorse my favorite singer Yungblud but I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks on my items to come that I’ve spent a lot of money on. I would appreciate it if I could receive my 3 items I placed awhile ago. I have anxiety and that really stresses me out. Not fast service at all next time I’ll drive 3 hours away if I have to to get what I’ve been patiently waiting for. The items I ordered mean SO much to me and they are playing with my emotions taking their precious time.

If I could give 0 stars I would!

If I could give 0 stars I would!! It took me 2 hours to place an order, thank goodness I used the PayPal option. I placed an order for my granddaughters birthday. A week later, my son called to find out where it is …. CANCELLED!!!! ….. not even an email to inform me. Apparently because the delivery address (present) and billing address were different they couldn’t accept it even though I’d used PayPal. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!

DISCRIMINATION, WORST EXPERIENCE.

My experience is regarding the Hot Topic store at Mapleview Mall, Burlington ON. This store in particular trains staff to discriminate against people. I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and I have been harassed by their staff because of it. This is a direct violation of The Ontarian's Disability Act, The Halton By-Law and my Canadian Charter of Rights. I have never been met with such ridiculous acts of discrimination. I have called Hot Topic HEAD OFFICE *twice* to get in contact with the Mapleview Hot Topic district manager and have heard NOTHING back for weeks. My complaint is also regarding Hot Topic's head office who couldn't care less about their discriminatory polices going on. They also transferred me to U.S numbers (without my knowledge) so as so not deal with this situation in Canada, they have since bared ZERO responsibility for this crime. In addition to baring ZERO responsibility, Mapleview's Hot Topic manager continues to hide behind closed doors while they push their staff to do their dirty work for them. It's disgusting behaviour and you should be ashamed of yourself for even pushing your staff to be in such a horrible position to do something like that to another. You've lost a loyal customer for life, and I hope you (the district manager, and Hot Topic in general) understand, that I am enlightening everyone about this experience.

Bad quality, and they sent it anyway, they got their $ so they didn't care

We ordered several items for Christmas gifts and had issues with our order getting lost and when it finally arrived one of our hoodies were the most terrible quality I have ever seen. The printed picture on the front is all blurry and ran together and they thought it was fine to send to their customers, it's garbage, absolutely terrible!! Wort experience ever with a Christmas gift

More like Cold Topic

I'd been searching for a leg lamp shirt from A Christmas Story. I was glad to find one on their site. I'd never ordered from their online store, but as a customer in their mall locations I figured it was a safe bet since it's a very well known company.

Ordered the shirt on December 13th, 2021. I gave them a day or two to ship it. Nothing. On the third day I inquired about it and was met with excuses as to why it hadn't shipped yet. Not rude, mind you, but excuses nonetheless. I ordered it on a Monday. It did not ship until Friday. Now, they have to know that not only it being the holidays and the carriers being backed up, but why wait four days later?

Of course this was supposed to be delivered on Christmas Eve because they waited until the absolute last minute to ship it. However, it didn't. It is now Christmas Day and no mail will be delivered. I even chatted on their site with a rep and I got more excuses and also was met with why I couldn't return it in-store.

Why did they wait until the last minute to ship something that was an online exclusive? They should have been ready to go in colors and sizes for when people wanted them. It's the holidays! And then you want to give excuses?

The only reason they're getting two-stars is because of the items they have on the site and in their physical locations. Stop dragging your butts and send out people's items! Other stores do-Lids, Best Buy, Target, even Wal-Mart.

Shipping ridiculous and impossible to buy

40$ for shipping. Was fine with it, but its impossible to make a command, they keep saying something is wrong with the payment, when there absolutly isnt any. Im not the first one who had this happen, and i wont be the last.. also, you cant delete you account. Will not try again, I already lost several hours yesterday and today for Cyber Monday

Two terrible experiences in 3 months- what happened to this store!?

Ordered from them a few months ago, and complained about the ridiculous shipping ($120 for 2 small summer dresses and 2 light tops to EU). They sorted me out and all that, but I still paid $72 for shipping.

Went back and thought, right, maybe I can make it worth it. Ordered 4 items, canceled things from my cart to get it down to $72 from the ridiculous $120 and lo and behold, two of the items are canceled.

Funnily, the shipping cost based on weight didn't drop. Wonder what that's all about. I think this is the last time I order from them. I won't make the mistake again.

I wish I never ordered from this place online.

This has been the worst experience I've ever had returning an item. I returned the item and they got it back in mid October. I never heard anything about my refund or what was going on so I finally had to contact them after waiting an entire month. They still won't process my refund. They're trying to tell me that now I have to take the refund in the amount of a check but that it will take a month to get to me after I've already waited over a month for a refund I was supposed to get processed back to my card. This is highly unprofessional and I've never heard of any company trying to steal a refund from somebody and then forcing them to take it by check when they're caught! Seriously illegal and I would be ashamed of myself if I was a business practicing like this. I will never be purchasing from this company again which is such a shame because I've been purchasing from them ever since this company came out. Smh.

I have purchased in the past. This time I purchase and return for the first time on the mail . Usually I rerun at the store should have listen to my gut . They lost the package very irresponsible of them . I wouldn’t be able to get my money back 50 bucks down the drain . I hope they get KARMA .

Horrible experience making a return!
I wish I had never purchased. Tried to return in store an the clerk couldn't figure it out! So I had to talk to online reps to get a label. I shipped it back an never got the money! I emailed an they said they'd process it but where taking some! I was promised no fees an a full refund for all the issues and they disregarded that completely. Had to reach out yet again an was told I'd get the rest. Still didn't get a refund weeks later! I reach back an they inform me I have to take it in a gift card that I'd have a few weeks to spend(no thank you!) Or a check. They failed to tell me that I have to take the check into separate amounts. I've never had a company make me feel so undervalued and uncared for. I will try everything possible not to order from here again. I'd rather pay a higher price from a reseller!

I went to the Hot Topic in American…

I went to the Hot Topic in American Dream Mall in NJ. They do not have any bags to put your stuff in, since I had so many things, I decided to put some stuff in my pocket. As I am in line, a employee went next to me and looked in my pocket and asked if I was going to pay for that. I told him I was and explained the situation and pulled out all merchandise out of pocket. Once I got to the register, he asked me to pull everything out of pocket. Which was just a pack of cigarettes and my phone. He was following me all throughout the store from the beginning and I felt like I was being racially profiled. I don't think he was even allowed to tell me to empty my pockets. I understand a lot of people steal from there and that it mightve looked like that but they should have bags/ baskets for people to put in .the cashier apologized to me but he followed me up until I left the store. It was a terrible experience.

Not inclusive. Misleading sizes & poor communication

First, they have no customer service listed including emails to contact.

Second, I still have not received a refund for my return. It has been almost a month.

Third. Hot Topic as a company caters mostly to young adults. The fact that they can’t list the appropriate sizing from the other companies they wholesale from is so sad and misleading.

Let me explain.

For example: There is Dangerfield. This Australian brand uses UK sizing. For example a size 18 in the UK is a USA size 14.

Hot Topic’s final size is a XXL. There is no mention anywhere it is actually a UK size 16 (US size 12). The measurements are also then incorrect on Hot Topic’s size charts.

ALSO if you go on Dangerfield (also called Black Friday) website they have additional sizes up to a size UK 20 (US size 16). And yet Hot Topic does not sell those sizes!

I can’t imagine a teenager with body issues and a US dress size of 12 putting on these XXL pants to be absolutely confused and disappointed with the label.

Customers should just go on Dangerfield as they have the correct size charts and additional sizes for those who are plus sized.

Hot Topic. You can do better for our youth. YOU do not have inclusive sizing for any body. Small or large.

72$ Shipping to EU

I wouldve given you a 0 if i could. Seriously, I looked for stuff on your page for like 2 hours trying to get enough value for free shipping.

I wouldnt mind paying like 5-10$ for shipping to EU.

But this stupid company wanted to charge me 72$ shipping to Sweden.

Must be rock heavy tshirts as I wanted to order 2 tees and a hoodie. Maybe they ride first class... who knows.

This company and online store stinks

This company and online store stinks! I placed one order in the past just to have them cancel it. Therefore, I was hesitant to buy from them online again. But after awhile, I decided to try again, however, right after I placed an order, they immediately cancelled me again! I just hope I get my credit back or I have to call my credit card company! They are frauds! Your best bet is to shop in store if you can but don’t even consider doing it online because they are frauds!

Biggest concern about Hot Topic is - u cannot shop for HT merch here in Canada. The website is for the USA. U have to convert from USD to CAN, which is a pain - also shipping cost more. I do not buy from HT online.
I am lucky whereas my local HT is the "flagship store" for Toronto and yet even They dont get much new merch in. HT USA ship more to Canada.

I am a Youtuber and would love to give HT a big shout=out on my vids, when they deserve it.
HT online sucks - HT in person - better.
