Michael Makison and Howdens Barking - can’t recommend highly enough! Michael came to the flat the very next day and measured everything. Sent pics and listened to what I wanted. Was friendly and easy to work with and had some great suggestions. Highly experienced. We had chosen, ordered, paid and had the entire kitchen delivered in less than a week. Who knew the personal touch was still a thing?! Keep up the great work Howdens and Michael.

Good employee and very good service

I had a very bad experience at the Barking branch with one of the female employees named Rei, she wasn’t as helpful as my builder recommended as me and my partner pay a visit to discover and finalise our kitchen. She spoke to us like me and my wife should have known what we wanted and should have a lot more experience. I understand this is a trade only business however we’re paying the trader, I’m the end customer paying the builder and the service was awful. She repeated they were trade only three times and only offer service to the trade. She seemed unbothered about showing us kitchen door samples and worktops and when we finally gave up and walked towards our car, I heard her talking to another colleague about is, calling us names such as ‘dumb and stupid’ and ‘how it’s not her job to sell kitchens to the end customer’ and ‘how it was a waste of her time’ from their warehouse shutters. We’ve told our builder, who assured us Simon and his staff are very kind and helpful but didn’t know who Rei was, maybe a new starter however it’s no excuse for such behaviour.

I recently purchased a kitchen and appliances for a customer. From start to finish the service at Howdens (BARKING) was superb.

As with all kitchens, there was a few unavoidable issues but the way the team deal with it is second to none. In particular, I’d like to say a big thank you to James and Leroy, when it comes to customer service, those two fellas set the bar high!

I have about five Howdens branches closer to where I live than Barking, but the service I receive there is worth travelling the extra miles.
