Recently had an opportunity to have my kitchen re-desinged and the work of the Kitchen Designer (Joanne) from Prestwich Howdens, made the experience really great. She was fantastic. Visited my home, took measurements, offered real visionary design. This was due to the detail in the design and their knowledge to enhance the overall design, plus making the space work for me - creative solutions! Worked to make things work quickly and turn it around. The wider team really helpful to support the delivery of items and answer the constant queries from myself and my builder. Big thanks to Steve the manager whose years of experience and ability to trouble-shoot was noted.

We have just ordered some doors, casings and essentials from Howdens in Prestwich. We were served by Neil Farrell. I just wanted to say how pleasant and excellent the service was from stepping through the door to going out.
I never appreciated how complex it was to buy doors and Neil was just fantastic, he was thorough, pleasant and so helpful. Much appreciated.

My experience with Howden's was a mixed bag really. Overall, I am happy with the end result which is the most important thing. Howden's is still probably the best place to get a kitchen from - cheaper than the other big names like Wren, Wickes, Magnet etc.
I had my kitchen measured up by Howden's and came in a couple of weeks later for design planning. The original design that Howden's presented was not what I had envisioned, but really this was my fault as I hadn't made my preferences clear. We had a second design session to tidy everything up, agreed the price, and arranged a fitting date. The kitchen and worktop were fitted in reasonably good time. The end result was a high-quality kitchen.
Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars for a couple of reasons. The main issue came when Howden's worktop company, Sheridan's, came to measure up for the worktop. They immediately realised that the kitchen was entirely flawed; the design Howden's had created did not provide enough support for the kitchen to hold up a worktop. Initially, I was worried my kitchen fitters had made a mistake, but the Sheridan's employee confirmed that he had checked the drawings and this was a design error. He rang Howden's and explained the situation. At first Howden's inferred it could be a kitchen fitter issue, but quickly conceded that it was their fault. The result was that approximately a third of my kitchen had to be moved about an inch. This pushed back everything on my schedule. Howden's had to arrange someone to come and price up the repairs, then find a suitable time to come and complete the work. Of course, Howden's paid for this as it was their error. We could finally have the worktop measured up and ordered. The worktop was of good quality, although I am not sure the price was quite as competitive as the kitchen itself.
When all was done and dusted, I mentioned to Howden's that there was one item missing from the order, which was an internal drawer pack (RRP ~ £150). It was on the original order and thrown in as a 'freebie', but not received. The employee from Howden's actually came to my house to verify if this was true (not sure why I would lie about such a small fee considering the total cost of the kitchen was over £10k). He confirmed the drawer had not been received, and would arrange for another to be sent over. I only heard from him again when the worktop had been fitted, chasing payment. I did not receive the missing item and ended up buying another from a different Howden's store.
If I was to get another kitchen in the future I would probably still go to Howden's, as the prices and quality are very good, although I would not use the Prestwich branch. I would purchase the worktop from elsewhere too.
