Whilst going through my divorce I was let down badly by my original solicitor. In desperation, at extremely short notice (only a week before my hearing and just before a Bank Holiday weekend), I turned to HRJ Foreman Laws and asked them if they could help. To my astonishment, Roger Weller agreed to meet me on the same day. He accepted the challenge and worked through the weekend to prepare my documents, even though he'd had no previous involvement. Throughout the rest of my divorce proceedings Roger was not only thorough and professional, but also empathetic and kind. I really believe he wanted (and achieved) the best possible outcome for me. The contrast with my previous solicitor's negligence and cold indifference could not have been more stark. I'd like to thank him and the whole team at HRJ Foreman Laws for their invaluable support during what was inevitably a difficult time.

The solicitor handling my case kept me well informed throughout the matter in hand. Communication was always on a personal basis, I never felt that I was just another client. Attention to detail was very good when challenging the opposite party's solicitor where they appeared to not be so diligent in matters. The office is locally based should a personal meeting be required. Overall I would definitely recommend this firm.

Prompt and competent advice paired with attentive service when we needed assistance with the purchase of a commercial property. Fees in line with estimates.

I do not recommend this law firm, they were NOT open and transparent from the off about their fees and when attending to read my late fathers will, the meeting was turned into guidance on probate by the solicitor and I was advised only after receiving the advice that it was chargeable. I found the solicitor to be dismissive of the concerns I raised around fee transparency and had to request the matter was escalated to a partner.

When dropping signed contracts off at the office was asked to put it through the letterbox rather than someone from HRJ take the time to come downstairs and collect the document. HRJ share the building with another business and personally accepting an important document containing confidential information should be a priority, in my view

HRJ were unable to accommodate my disabled brother at their offices and my overall customer experience with this firm has been highly disappointing and poor customer experience.

Well, how disappointing. I have used this firm for a few years now and had excellent service. They just did my will, and they made it a simple process that wasn’t too expensive. So, it seemed logical that I asked them for some advice regarding a variable rent charge on a property I own.
The initial response I got was very disappointing. It basically rewrote the transfer agreement terms, which, of course, I already knew. I politely suggested the initial response didn’t cover any changes to relevant legislation or any relevant case law that may enable me to challenge the charges. The response I got was frankly condescending and hostile. The solicitor said that they had exhausted the retainer and that any further work was chargeable. They did not consider the fact that they had wasted what I had already paid them to regurgitate the transfer agreement.
I considered writing to one of the partners but thought it would be a further waste of my time. So, it looks like I’m on the hunt for a new family solicitor!

We sold our property in Letchworth, UK . Laura at Foreman Laws in Hitchin assisted us step by step in the completion of the sale. She was thorough, available, competent and very friendly. Highily recommend the studio.

Our buyer engaged HRJ Foreman for what should have been a simple, chain free vacant possession sale in Aug 2020. Despite pressure from both our side and the buyers side their solicitor constantly held things up and asked ridiculous questions, making what should have been a 3-4 month sale into over 7 months of stress. We had relocated overseas and couldn't buy locally until the transaction completed. In late March, at the 11th hour the buyers solicitor pressured us into accepting our solicitors withholding £250 in case of any additional leasehold estate fees needed to be paid (despite the fact that we had paid up to date, the sale date corresponded with the 6 month leasehold fees being due and they had been provided with several years of managing agents reports of financial transactions). We pushed back but reluctantly agreed as we didn't want to jeopardise the sale at the last minute. That was March 2021. It is now mid January 2022 and we are yet to have OUR money released as HRJ FOREMAN refuses to engage and have told our solicitors they haven't heard from the buyer which is totally untrue as we have been in direct contact with the buyer. Totally unprofessional and unethical from HRJ FOREMAN, all they need to do is email our solicitors and say we can have our money. The amount of time wasted sending emails with false information from this company is ridiculous. It's shocking they can hold us to ransom like this and there's nothing we can do!!!

I have used Foreman Laws for several matters and always found their service to be professional and efficient.

Most recently, they did the conveyancing for a property I wished to purchase. The service was professional, thorough and efficient.

Only minor issue was that sometimes it was difficult to reach staff by telephone but some of this was due to the combination of the Christmas holiday period and Covid. They are a busy office!

Their staff are a pleasure to deal with.

Value for money is fair IMO.
