Great company for hardware DJ products

A great company for hardware DJ produccts, and im sure the same for vinyl.

I bought from HTFR many times for building up hardware for my private function DJ business over many years. ( Large PA systems, pro mics etc. )

Their customer service was very good when a slight issue arose with one speaker I bought, and they addressed the issue appropriately.

Would recommend.

Great service and communication

Great service and communication. Not sure if it's the same company but I used to use to hard to find records back in the day. It has always been the best record shop.

Excellent service.

I placed 2 orders from HTFR just recently, directly by telephone. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and had everything I wanted in stock. The first order came 2 days later from the Royal Mail. The second order came from DPD which came the next day from ordering. Everything was packaged in strong packaging just as it was stated on their web site. The records were second hand but otherwise in good condition.

I never had a problem with them, and would purchase from them again.

Been a happy customer for years ..
Had hundreds of vinyls from them .. on two
Occasions I mis-bought items that were unwanted
Or forgot I'd already owned .? Phoned explained
And exchanged for others no quibble. Job done

Messed around

Same experience as a lot of the one-star reviews. My order was 'lost in the post' and I was told to wait three weeks to confirm it. Finally confirmed, and those were supposedly the last copies, so no replacement. The one star is because they've promised to refund the value of the records, but I would go to the many other, better online retailers unless you feel like rolling the dice on whether your purchase will arrive or not.

Reply from Hard To Find Records

The customers order was posted on the via second class Royal Mail as he requested. Sadly, we are reliant on third party couriers to deliver our items for us. He complained it had not arrived a week later. He was asked to wait another week. He rang to complain two days later, at which point we refunded him in full on the spot. This was despite him not waiting the requested period of time and he still left this review.

He seems to imply we have something to gain by lying about dispatching orders but what could we possibly gain apart from angry customers. He would also know that the records he purchased were the last copies because it states that when ordering. We did not refund that value of the records, the refund was for the full value of the order.

Apparently their MO with customers who care about vinyl condition is to block them.

----- EDIT IN RESPONSE TO HTFR'S REPLY (11:29 PM, 3/10/16) -----

An "extreme case" of bad customer service.

I'm glad this business sees chasing them up on an order that is overwhelmingly not as described as an "extreme case". The only extreme thing about this case is that I placed an order of about 50 records that mostly purported to be in Mint condition, and found that half of them were not even close, and that some of them were even unplayable.

It's rather telling that rather than honestly attempt to resolve this issue, they merely issue an impersonal response that (poorly) attempts to absolve them of guilt in the eyes of anyone else reading. Such shoddy and unprofessional customer service! The only reason they don't want to go into any detail publicly is because it is they, and only they, who are in the wrong!

---- ORIGINAL REVIEW BEGINS BELOW -----

I dealt with them once through Discogs, placed a large order, but most of it was either not as good condition as described, or was the wrong record entirely. This wasn't a problem at the time, as they gave me a partial refund on the items I was willing to keep, and paid for return postage on the items that were absolutely unacceptable.

However, I saw that they had a record I wanted that is indeed "Hard To Find" from a UK seller, so decided to give them a second chance. However, I went to add it to my shopping cart only to find that they'd blocked me from buying from them. Apparently that's what they do when you have a history of actually requiring them to provide you with what you ordered!

Of course, I could try placing an order directly through their website, but the prices on there are higher, for the most part. Would not recommend.

Customer was blocked from purchasing.

We don't want to go into detail about this case publicly, but it is only done in extreme cases.

Not the same HTFR as before

Next day delivery, good prices. These were actually orders via ebay and 2nd hand items but the condition was great despite not being listed and the prices were cheap.
Famously (or infamously) they were the only place that stocked the notorious 4 track "dj only" issues of ultra rare dance tunes for the same price back in the 90s although I believe the company are now under different management. I did get stung thinking i'd ordered an original which turned up as a bootleg.
I must stress though it seems they are now doing things legit and from personal experience the service was very good.
