Humana is not worth the problems

The absolute worst,cust service puts you on hold,for NO REASON,long hold times. When you tell them why you are calling they simply try to make it something else you know I called to help they have help with my sign in so I wouldn't have to call them they say there's another number I've told them that they Loop me around a few times their answer to it as well I didn't put it in timely which isn't correct I did it within the time specified and then they say there's another member in my home and then if I try it again that they're going to lock me out of it well they've already done that a few times they are the absolute worst bottom of the heap can't wait to change insurance!!!

Humana Is A Joke

Humana is a joke! I was supposed to receive my Healthy Benefits Plus card last August, and it still has not come. I was lured into using this plan because of the extra benefits but = guess what? - there ARE NO
BENEFITS. I signed up for this through askChapter.org, and they have tried to help me, but Humana is the real culprit here!

Do not be misled by Humana commercials…

Do not be misled by Humana commercials claiming they are here to assist seniors; this is not true. It is important to be aware that Humana has devised methods to discriminate against individuals with pre-existing conditions. For instance, I was denied coverage due to a medication I take for asthma, which is an indirect method of denying coverage for pre-existing conditions without stating it outright. Numerous companies are equitable and transparent. Do not trust Humana.

I have a record # of grievances filed; # keeps growing.

Humana had my current dr listed as in-network on my website plan portal. They don’t update their website in real time, at all; it’s horribly inaccurate. I saw Dr, who told me they don’t accept any H. I self paid, fought with Humana for all my trouble because of their incompetence and failure to update their website for providers.
I paid $100 for two visits, self pay. I jumped through all the stupid forms with proof attached. A long way to go nowhere. I called claims reimbursement about my first claim form. They told me, after putting me on a long hold—-the provider is in network. Holy cow! These people are ridiculous!! They reimbursed my provider, instead of me! Even though I submitted my receipts! Now it’ll take them another month or two to figure out their own mistake.

This is by far, the worst Medicare Advantage plan yet. These new issues happen every day on my plan. Can’t be the only one! I do not recommend Humana at all. The wheels come off my plan every single day, except for Sat-Sun, only because these yahoos are closed on weekends.

Terrable liar company

I recently tried to apply for Humana health care. My previous provider a Aetna Medicare only plan wasn't paying my medical bills. I got my Medicaid back so I figured I could now qualify for a dual coverage plan. My insurance agent checked and said it should be no problem. We filled out all the forms and waited just some background, I live in a group home that is closing and need a medical exam and filled prescriptions to move to the new place. After a week Humana sent a letter saying my application was being processed. Turns out that was a complete lie. A full 3 weeks later they sent me a letter saying I was dented coverage and that under no circumstances whatsoever would they consider thinking about accepting applications outside the holy Enrollment period in October, and that for coverage the following year! Thankfully I also applied to upgrade my coverage to a dual complete plan with my current provider Aetna. They had no problem approving me. Thank God because if Humana had their way I would be on my way to guaranteed homelessness because they could have just told me up front they weren't accepting applications until October. Instead they took a month to reply with that basic information. Way to late to apply with someone else. Humana would have me on the streets, unable to get the medicine I need to live, I would be sick without my blood pressure medication and crippled without my gout medication. These unprofessional goons are monsters. And judging from the other reviews looks like I dodged a bullet indeed.

Humana is not worth considering

I have been going around in circles with this company for 8 months now. I can't get any bills paid. I have to drive 40 miles to see any specialist (mind you my pcp and local hospital are in network; but none of the doctor specialists are)?

I recently changed my plan from Aetna to Humana

I recently changed my plan from Aetna to Humana Gold Plus HMO. I was thoroughly impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the License Agent, Anthony St. Pierre, who was assigned to assist me in recognizing the benefits of switching health carriers. Anthony's ability to educate me on various ways to save money for out-of-pocket cost via Humana, was most helpful in making my decision. My Primary Care Doctor and Specialists are in Humana's Network, which was also important in my decision as well. I'm looking forward to partnering with Humana to ensure I receive the best affordable health treatment.

Thank You Anthony, for your patience by taking time to make sure I understood each aspect of what Humana offers! Thank You Humana for hiring such Professional and Supportive Agents.

slow claim processing

I like that I get personal calls discussing my health. I dislike that the customer service rep. told me that the procedure I wanted was preapproved and the provider was in network and there was no way the claim would be denied. but it was and I had to get involved with a supervisor and put them directly in touch with the provider over procedure notes from the doctor. after 90 days the claim finally got paid.

I was a loyal customer until I wanted…

I was a loyal customer until I wanted to order refills and no one could understand why I was locked out of my account. They said someone was trying to get into my account and changing my password
I gave:
My name
My member ID number
My email address
Home address
Phone number
SS number
Medicare ID
Mothers maiden name
Last 4 of the card on file
And road I grew up on. (The secret question that gets you into everything) answered all and didn’t prove anything to Humans nor CenterWell.
If I wanted they were willing to deliver narcotics to my house without proving it’s me but to get into my account was something totally different.
I had my drs (who know it’s me) send my prescriptions to another pharmacy (where no one know’s me) before the end of the month and placed the refilled narcotics on Humana prescription card then yanked my account proving its me.

I had scheduled surgery and 3 days…

I had scheduled surgery and 3 days before found I would have to cancel. I immediately reached out to the surgeon's office leaving a message. No one returned my call. I spent 2 days trying to reach someone in the office but was unable. So I reached out to Humana just to let them know the circumstances so they could notate my account. To my surprise, the lady I spoke with offered to try and contact them for me. I was on hold for about 5 minutes. She then returned to the phone call with the surgeon's office on the phone line with her. With the 3 of us on the line I was able to cancel the surgery. I am very thankful that Humana would actually help in this situation. I believe the person that helped me at Humana went above and beyond what would be reasonably expected.
I have had other telephone experiences with Humana and found their staff to be informative and caring. But this last experience was unbelievable not just in my opinion but with others I related the story to as well.

I wouldn't go with Humana

I wouldn't go with Humana. No easy way to contact them on their website. They also don't verify addresses. I've been receiving mail addressed to someone else and told them about it twice and they have yet to stop sending me their mail. So I a stranger am receiving important confidential information and Humana is doing nothing to stop it even though I have told them. Think twice before using this company!

Hummana is saving money at the patients expense.

I have back issues and have had back issues for years. I was trying to get some pain relief on my low back before it gets inflamed. I did everything my doctor asked and this is not the first time for this procedure. Humana finds every excuse not to do the procedure. From dragging their feet in approving it; to now down right denying it. I have had many insurances over the years. This is the worst. I even called Humana before they denied it. They are blaming it on a third party called Cohere. Did you know Humana farms out their authorizations? That makes their decisions. This procedure is basically minor; I can imagine if it was costly. I have spent a lot of time, travel and my own money on an MRI. Geez.

Dissolution of customer service within Humana

Have Humana for over eight years however it has gotten so big that it's offshore untrained and on a different system than the domestic United States where they do not have my dermatologist who I've seen at least 20 times with Humana is getting outrageous and when you call the automated system says you'll be attended to less than one minute and it usually goes well over 15 and when you do Get offshore that tells you that your doctors are not in their system so if it wasn't for the dental which I have a pending grievance since I lost $4500 in benefits from 23 to 24 due to and in network dentist who lied about his credentials . I am definitely going to evaluate your United and have Med this enrollment. And had it not been for the dental benefits that completely disappeared due to this incompetent dentist and Humana I would've already changed insurance companies

Just ridiculous people, customer experience makes me want to change providers. Nothing but lies, nothing ever gets done as promised, customer service reps no very little about anything, wrong people to provide support.

The most awful experience

The most awful experience. Lied to get me on a plan and then changed the plan without my knowledge and now I have to pay all of my meds out of pocket. My Medicare pay was being paid for until Humana changed it and now I pay that also. I only get 13k a year but I make to much for help. I am so full of hate for humana.

Husband is in extreme pain

Husband is in extreme pain. Was set to hv a trail pain pump procedure. The request was sent 6/4 but 3 days b4 procedure, on 6/4, they said they needed a mental evaluation. He had an evaluation less than 2 months ago but they won’t use that one. We couldn’t get an appointment for a new evaluation until 7/1. After that the request has to be resubmitted and could well in to July b4 anything happens. Meanwhile husband is horribly depressed and not eating much. There is NO freedom anymore in healthcare. Sone nameless bureaucrats make decisions about YOUR life n your treatment. Humana has been a nightmare.

We've been w Humana a few years they do fine with coverage, not a problem.
However, last December we changed our policys, the guy who sold us the policy said he would take care of canceling the old policies, he didn't so we called humana shortly after that and requested that all old policies be canceled, they did except one, they have continued to bill us for that policy for 5 mo., I've talked to them for hours all about this one policy, my wife was double covered for dental all this time, I finally realized that they are all clueless inept people that have a curious relationship with honesty. When you call them half the time the call mysteriously disconnects, or the person is so hard to understand that the conversation goes the direction that you would have with a 2 year old. Today a manager was supposed to call me, no call, I've had case #'s, reference #'s assigned to this. I've been told that the one gal kelly who was really so helpful, ya she was from the wrong dept?
I was to get all my money back in 2 weeks
they all say they will help me, today after hours on the phone I call and the robot says I owe the last month on the policy that they all claim to have cancelled. I wouldn't let any of them walk my dog and my dog is dumber then a box of rocks but I love her cause she's my dog. It's frightening that a company so huge is so lost, sometimes it's kinda funny as you're talking to the rep.s you can hear chickens in the background LOL They do have a fraud line and you can file grievances and you get all this mail like they are really gonna fix something, but no, today I've got 3 hr.s on the phone 2 dropped calls, they act insulted when I ask if they will call me back if the call drops, then it drops and they don't call back. Today at midday I was told a manager would call me so I'm supposed wait by the phone, you guessed it ghosted.

These people are awful

These people are awful. Every prescription fill is a hassle. Count on it. Then they continually bombard you with text messages for this and that nonsense, and meangingless "health tips,"requests for information. To get someone on the phone is 20 minutes of mechanical voice every time, only for the reps to tell you almost everything is "non-formulary." NEVER AGAIN. Humana, you are fired!
