Like pulling teeth...
I was recently involved with Hunters as they were the estate agents selling a house I was interested in and I have to say the experience was poor from start to finish.
Right from the beginning, customer service was disappointing at best with no consistency in how professional and courteous the staff member was, with some clearly far more knowledgeable and experienced than others. Sadly, I seemed to deal with a different staff member almost every time I called, many of which claimed to be new and within a training period. Some of these members of staff I never spoke to again, leading me to summarize that there seemed an unusually high turnover rate.
Further to this point, staff members were very lax in returning calls and answering queries, sometimes even claiming they didn't recall previous conversations. On multiple occasions I was given incorrect, incomplete and inadequate information regarding the property in question, yet at no point did Hunters seem apologetic or eager to rectify the situation, often denying all knowledge or refusing accountability by blaming another staff member, the solicitors or the vendors.
As a result of the constant difficulties and delayed communication, a process which should have taken roughly 6 weeks limped on for 4 months. The service was abysmal.
I have to note, one particular management level staff member did seem very knowledgeable and experienced yet sadly we only had the pleasure of dealing with her once and that was after complaining forcefully on multiple occasions.
My overall conclusion is that Hunters will rent a house for or to you and they will sell a house for or to you but don't expect an easy pleasant transaction. You'll get there in the end, but you'll have to prompt and complain, every single painful step of the way.
