Shocking!!

I'm an employer

Shocking, only had a job posted for 12hrs and its cost me £90 in "clicks" do not waste your money.

I set it to £13 a day and there was no mention of paying for clicks! I thought I was paying for a service monthly. They have wiped the account so I owe nothing however the clicks system is severely outdated practise and needs scrapping, its a con.

I recieved 110 clicks apparently in 16hrs, yet only 10 applicants and 99% of them are people fudging the benefits system!

Hi, Jon! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. On Indeed, Sponsored Jobs run on a cost-per-click (CPC) basis rather than a flat monthly fee. This means the selected budget is the average amount intended to be spent per day over time. You only pay when someone clicks your job ad to view the full job description, not for impressions. The actual spend can fluctuate day to day depending on traffic and competition, but our system aims to keep your average daily spend close to the amount you set for the job while it's active on Indeed. The job can be paused, or the budget adjusted at any time to control future spend. We are happy to hear that you received assistance. Please know your feedback is valuable, and it will certainly be passed along!

Indeed is a big scam for the employers…

Indeed is a big scam for the employers to post the jobs. They will let you chose your daily budget and then overcharge you with pay-per-click charges! Be aware of this scam. Customer service is terrible. When you will try to resolve the problem they will make up some false pretext not to resolve your problem. I requested delete the job posting from their website and they said that this option does not exist. After all they will spam your email address with their useless emails.
Besides, the candidates are 90% rate of no show. and the last 10% unqualified.

Do not trust this website Indeed!

Do not trust this website Indeed.
I applied to 6+ job adverts, filled in application forms, attached CV etc.

Never achieve any interviews.I had one acknowledgement from one employer. However just left hanging over six weeks.

What I had noticed, although I hadn't been successful. Many identical or almost identical jobs I had applied for were being re-advertise? Weeks or months later?

I noticed, that people on social media, had similar experiences.

To my mind, these adverts for employment,do not nesssary mean that companies are currently hiring! But possibly banking CVs in advance.

I assume that companies pay Indeed,to advertise recruitment.
Companies then bank CVs?

Not exactly transparent,to a Job seeker who could be spending precious hours seeking employment, that is currently unavailable!

Hi Mandy,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re very sorry to hear how frustrating your job search has been.

Indeed is not involved in the hiring decisions for the jobs listed on our site. Employers manage their own recruitment processes, including who they contact and when. That said, job seekers should still expect clear communication, and we understand how disheartening it is not to receive updates after putting in so much effort with applications and forms.

Regarding roles being re‑advertised or looking very similar: in some cases, employers repost a genuine opening if they did not find the right match the first time, or if they are hiring for the same role on a rolling basis. However, all job postings on Indeed must represent real opportunities and follow our posting guidelines. If a job appears misleading, or if it seems an employer may not actually be hiring, it can be reported directly on the job page for our team to review.

We also offer resources to help improve the chances of hearing back, such as tips on tailoring a CV and using filters to target roles that closely match a job seeker’s skills and experience.

To support you during this time, we recommend exploring our Career Guide, which offers valuable advice and resources: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice.

Additionally, this article specifically addresses what to do if you aren't hearing back from employers: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/what-to-do-if-you-arent-hearing-back-from-employers.

Please know we're rooting for you and wish you the best of luck in your job search!

Indeed won't accept honest reviews about a company from an employee. They reject them.
I'm assuming they do this to keep the companies happy, who advertise with them and are paying them.
Dishonest.

Hi JM, all company page reviews on Indeed are subject to a moderation process. Hello, Donna! Job postings on Indeed are uploaded directly by employers, and we always encourage them to close their listings once they've made a hire. If a job is still visible on Indeed, it means the employer has actively posted it and should be hiring for that position. If you ever come across jobs on Indeed that you have concerns about, you can click "report." Please know that your feedback is important to us, and we will certainly pass it along!

just a word of caution for employers…

just a word of caution for employers using Indeed.

Setting up a job advert can be more confusing than it should be, and it’s very easy to end up with multiple ads for the same role running at the same time without realising it. This can quickly push your spend higher than expected.

The weekly budget you believe you’ve set doesn’t always seem to act as a true limit either. In our experience it’s regularly exceeded, often without any clear notification, which makes it difficult to properly control recruitment costs.

Unfortunately, we’ve also found it to be pretty ineffective for recruiting qualified electricians, with many applications coming from candidates who simply aren’t suitable for the role.

Just something for other employers to be aware of when setting up adverts.

Hi Ian, thank you for sharing your experience, we are very sorry it has not been to your satisfcation.

To clarify, when you post a job on Indeed, as long as you only post one version of a job posting you should not end up with multiple postings for one position, you would need to actively create a new posting for the same position to end up with more than one posting like this.

Regarding the budgeting on a job posting, when you choose a daily budget for example, this is the average amount your job posting may accrue per day, some days it may be less and other days it may be more. But over the period the job posting is open, it should average out to the chose daily budget amount.

If we can assist in any way, please send us more details to trustpilot@indeed.com.

Poor Website Performance

Indeed's website performance has been wildly inconsistent.

I've been looking for a job for a while, and I've regularly had issues with the number of jobs returned. Normally, my search phrase returns at least 100 jobs during the week, and many more when I search on Mondays (jobs posted for the past three days).

Today, the website returned 25 jobs posted over the past three days.

I even tried deleting the cache and cookies, but got the same results.

Never Trust a programmer that dosen't review their product.

Over the course of many years, I have always trusted Indeed for an accurate database and proper representative of my years of experience. BOY< was I surprised when the last few months I have not received one notice. Then after reviewing my profile I realized why. The file was building from old resumes and outdated files, making a miss match of scrambled nonsense. No wonder anyone with a half a brain could see this was garbage. The real surprise came when I went to correct the mess and GOOD luck with that. You will have to build a new profile if you have the heart for a long battle against the mess that is there. I did manage to update the profile...I hope. after several attempts.

Frustrating experience and poor support

Very disappointed with Indeed. Many job listings are outdated or misleading, and the platform often feels cluttered with irrelevant postings. Title: WARNING to Employers: Extreme Overcharging and Low Quality (SCAM)

Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆
I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with Indeed’s employer services. They are clearly overcharging, and the system feels like a total scam to bleed money from businesses.
• Massive Overcharging: I set a budget of $68 per day, yet in less than 24 hours, my charges skyrocketed to over $200. Their "automatic" bidding system ignores the daily limit you set to "keep your post competitive."
• Pay-per-Click Scam: They claim to be "pay-per-application," but you are mostly paying for clicks on the job post. The cost-per-click is astronomical and doesn't guarantee a single qualified candidate.
• Unqualified Applicants/Bots: 90% of the applicants are not qualified. It feels like I am paying to attract AI bots or auto-apply junk.
• "Ghost" Applications: I have had multiple people tell me they never applied to my post, yet I received an application from them. How is this possible?
I wasted hundreds of dollars and hours of my time vetting candidates that didn't exist or were not interested. Save your money and use a different platform. Be very careful with sponsoring a job on Indeed.

Reply from Indeed

Hi, Maria! We are sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced, and we want to clarify how billing and applications work on Indeed, as well as offer steps to improve candidate quality. Indeed’s current Sponsored Jobs model is pay-per-click (PPC), not pay-per-application. Charges accrue when job seekers click a sponsored listing to view or begin applying. You can read more about this here: https://indeedinc.my.site.com/employerSupport1/s/article/360026629712?language=en_US. The daily average budget is a target used for pacing and delivery; spend may fluctuate day to day based on available traffic and competition. Over a longer period, the system aims to average to your set budget. Indeed does not have daily limit budgets. Please note that once a job is posted on Indeed, it’s publicly available. We can’t control who chooses to click or apply, and clicks don’t guarantee qualified applicants. Only signed‑in Indeed account holders can submit applications to jobs they find on Indeed. To assist with candidate quality, we recommend adding screener questions: https://www.indeed.com/hire/resources/howtohub/how-to-use-screener-questions-on-indeed?co=US. This helps deter unqualified applicants and allows an employer to filter quickly. We thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback!
