Purchased Hybrid Inverter and 6 x 5kw…

Purchased Hybrid Inverter and 6 x 5kw home storage batteries in October last year to compliment the set up I already have.

Excellent service and help through out. Sent me extra equipment free of charge to update battery firmware.

All working as it should do.

Worst Technical and Customer Service Possible

ICS charger performed well for the best part of 4 years. But has totally given up now and defaults immediately when my car is connected. The technical team at ICS is uninterested and incompetent. They suggested I perform my own electrical work and remove the box to check for myself? Finally directed me to a approved installers page, where i had to ring 5 different people as the first 3 said they don't work on ICS chargers, so no idea why they were listed as "approved". Customer services could care less about fixing the charger, and its now 5 weeks with no response. Last email 2 weeks ago, basically said we did what we could, cant guarantee it works, but if it doesn't you will need to buy a new one. The level of apathy in obvious from the first time i contacted them.

Very temperamental

Very temperamental. Sometimes it’s charges perfectly well, other times I can go for days where it won’t connect or start charging. Fortunately I have a hybrid, so the charge is not essential. But if I was fully electric, I’d be in trouble.

Buy Cheap, Buy twice!

Absolutely shocking company. Avoid at all costs. Having been in the renewable energy industry for over 20 years and this is the worst product on the market. I install on average three Solar PV inverters and storage battery’s and a sales rep guaranteed me that this new product was going to take off. I purchased one kit that included the inverter and two 5kW storage batteries for just over £2k. The battery cables and WiFi dongle are all extra but you won’t find that out until you fit it. I’m ok with that as I had battery cables on the van. Got it all set up and it only worked for one day. Calling them is pointless as they never answer. It took over a month for a email respond with a simple “check power supply”. I gave up after two months and pulled all of the equipment out and returned it for my money back. Buy cheap, buy twice comes to mind.

The phone is clearly off the hook……

The phone is off the hook. The only communication I can get is by email where they want date of purchase, place of purchase, date of installation, installation company, installer contact, site location, number of chargers, charger model and charger serial number by email response. This is clearly just a delaying tactic. I have simply previously read out the number shown on my Greenflux portal over the phone. I’ve given them all the information I’m in possession of and still no one has contacted me. Utterly hopeless. Since we installed these 2/3 years ago, they’ve been more off-line than online. The technology seems to be totally outdated. Don’t use.

AWFUL

AWFUL. Home charging Box doesn't work with Bluetooth or WiFi. Had independent electrical engineer come, says power is OK, but box is faulty. Sent numerous emails to ICS...nothing and even you ring helpline...always engaged, no matter time or day.AVOID

Do not buy one of their home EV chargers.

Do not buy one of their home EV chargers if you want compatibility with Octopus Intelligent Go tariff. They do not work with it and they have no plans or intention to work on the compatibility. Strange when Octopus are a leading UK energy supplier. My home charger is useless to me and will have to be thrown away and a working charger bought and installed.

Marcus - fantastic customer service at ICS

We had a problem with our EV charger (which did subsequently need changing as it was faulty), Marcus at tech support was absolutely brilliant , so patient,talked us through every step of the problem we were having , credit where credit is due - that's what you call customer service. Thanks again Marcus 👌

Poor Level 1 Support

I was unable to use my EV charger that came preinstalled in my house. I contacted support who advised to take the facia off and put an ethernet cable lead into the PCB. I did all that only to hear they can't see it online. All I want is a factory reset so I can actually use it. In the end I ended up with an EV charger that has an absolutely awful app that I can't use to change any settings with, tried on both iOS and Android, did everything the Freshdesk articles suggested as well.

The support is just poor, it's level 1 support agents who just have a don't care type tone. More interested in freeing up the phone line.
