Information provided by various external sources

In The Swim was founded in 1982 by a husband and wife team. Shipping chlorine from the back of their garage and taking orders on their front porch, they began to have a vision that this could be something big. As the quantities of their orders increased, so did the loyalty of their customers. Before long, In The Swim relocated to a larger facility and hired their first employees to answer the phone. As In The Swim’s customers grew in number, so did the product selection. The one constant factor of In The Swim’s growth has been maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction through its dedication to quality products at the best possible prices and its commitment to the highest level of customer service.

Ordered a booster pump and in getting…

Ordered a booster pump and in getting it ready to install it I noticed the top portion of the volute(part that bolts into the front of the pump) had cracked off in shipping. I looked inside the box and there it was the piece that that cracked off. They initially told me that since I opened the box and tried to install it - the first lie, they would not warranty it. So began a two week odyssey trying to get them to resolve it. I told the guy I don't need a whole new pump just send me the volute($60 part) and I'll be good to go. I had to send pictures and they had to file a case# to it. Finally after 2 weeks going around and around the volute showed up. So... what should have been handled in 1 day took over 2 weeks and a few hours of my time dealing with this petty stuff. I'm surprised this company is actually still in business.

Garbage product not honored by their warranty

This cover lasted just one season of 3 months. The seams have separated, the bubbles are falling apart into many tiny pieces floating throughout the pool making it such fun to vacuum each day. I contacted this horrible company called (In The Swim) who does not honor their warranty. Their only option is for me to purchase another cover for them at a discount. Really, they expect scammed clients to buy a useless cover again that lasts only one season? I could go on writing a novel with the experience of working with this company, but I’ll spare you the time. Just do yourself a favor and do not purchase anything from In The Swim!

I bought 55lbs of Aqua shock from them

I bought 55lbs of Aqua shock from them. My pool was new water been in pool for a few weeks and was very pretty. I used this shock for maintenance purposes only. My pool now looks like milk . I am emptying pool going to have to refill which wil make twice in one month. The powdered looking stuff has settled to bottom water clear no way to get it out but to completely empty pool. Very disgusted I have owned pools for many years and never experienced anything like this. I have still not got a response from them. I paid for 55lbs and used a few cups of this crap which ruined my water. If anyone would like pictures of this product or what it dose to your water let me know. I would be happy to share. I will not trust this company or anything they sell again.

Just a bad company to deal with.

They work through Walmart which I will never use again either due to this experience. I ordered a Pentair TA60D sand filter system I needed ASAP. They said they would get it to me in 2 days. Great, right, no they sent the wrong package it was a large box of some play set. So my pool is sitting without a filter in 108 degrees and I make a call first to Walmart, they won't do nothing they say it's In The Swims fault and to contact them. So, I do on the next day Monday and what I got was one of the most rudest customer service people ever, and after all the rudeness her final comment was this is walmart’s problem go to them. Not, what can we do to make it right or will send fedex back to pick it up and send the right item back out. No, she just rudely blew me off, one of their now former customers. Just a word of caution do not buy anything from this company they have no integrity, and you'll probably get the wrong thing, or worse yet get ripped off.

Anywhere but here

I wish I would have read the reviews of the company sending me the items. Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. A $2000 heater came damaged beyond repair. Called more than once to get it sent back. No one will send me a email with confirmation of the freight company. And they even asked me to shrink wrap the open package. Are you kidding me. There is no way I can trust or believe this company. Even if it cost more go somewhere worse

BUYER BEWARE

I have bought items from in the swim and Leslie's pool supplies. My last purchase will definitely be my LAST. The items were sent to the WRONG address to start with. Thank God the woman tracked me down to see that I received my items because she didn't have to. My solar cover was damaged. The one seam was missed completely. When I called, they wanted pictures so I sent them. AJAY said I didn't live near a store and had no way of returning it they would refund my money. I waited and never received a refund, so I called. Well, they want to do a pick-up which would be fine, but I must provide a box for it which I don't have and it would cost me more money to buy a box that I am not willing to do. Try putting a solar cover in a box after it is taken out. This company is a MAJOR joke.

Horrible Customer Service!

I bought a house with a neglected pool and have numerous things to order... I purchased a couple from "In The Swim". Well, they do not stand behind their items, so I will certainly not order from them again.

It's not rocket science

Received a mailer from In the Swim offering 25% off and free shipping, valid from 4/19/24- 4/31/24. Tried ordering product online several times and would not accept promo code so I phoned customer service. I spoke with a representative who asked me for the product number and discount amount. Once she took my order information, she told me the discount amount would display in "about 20 minutes," which I thought was odd, but so be it. When I asked her for a total she quoted me the discounted price plus shipping. When I informed her (again) that shipping was included, she told me that free shipping had expired. When I informed her (again) that this was not the case and she could direct me to her supervisor, she said she would manually apply the shipping discount. Today, when I saw the product shipped, not only was $9.99 shipping charge, but the 25% ($17.49) discount was never applied. Filling orders correctly is certainly not rocket science, but for a company like In the Swim, it seems to be.

Warranty worthless…Company has changed

Something has happened to this Company. Not the same. They false advertise and do not stand behind their products or their manufacturer warranties. I purchased a pool winter cover Sept 2022 that came with a 15 YEAR WARRANTY. This is only 2nd summer of use. Upon receiving we noticed the cover was much thinner than previous covers. During 1st year of use got small tears and this year worse .2 holes so bad had to be taped until we uncover for summer however this pool cover is rotten all over. Last straw is when my lil pup 8 lbs stepped off edge and The cover tore in another huge place. Customer service Eric has different reason each email or call on why they will not honor.

Has used every excuse to not cover this cover. 1st excuse that warranty does not cover because it was animal damage. *Not I'm sorry your dog almost drowned because of your poor cover quality), then next excuse when showing other holes was something dropped on it. 3rd excuse was act if nature? Then when calling in to talk to someone else this same guy then told other rep it was because water was on cover? No water on cover? the best the said they could do was offer me 15% off a new one. Your company treats repeat customers like this? I totally feel like your quality is poor on this cover and customer service is all about wasting customers time when warranty was never going to be honored. This cover lasted less than one season.

2nd time I ordered clorine tabs a week went by did not receive it called and the told me there was "no movement " on shipping. Thier warehouse is in Orlando I live in Tampa customer service said they could reship it 7 to 10 days. I said if you cannot provide a service state that upon ordering. No refund me oh 7 days to get my money back. This company has major issues and the big one is customer service its horrible. Never going to order anything again

Made an order was sent wrong item

Made an order was sent wrong item, called customer service and the only thing they were worried about was shipping the wrong item back not getting me the correct item. Didn't send my correct item until the wrong one was shipped back. Their mistake and I paid the price. Too many options out there DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

In the swim did a bait and switch

In the swim did a bait and switch, sending chlorine granular shock (50 lbs) instead of 3 inch tablets as
requested. Customer Service does nothing to remedy their convenient mistake. I have their product sent to see if they could fool another customer, and they want me to dispose of it free of charge. The worst, sleezy company in the pool supply business !!

Do Not Trust "In the Swim" Stay Away

Bought a winter cover 8 years ago, in the 7th year it started seeping water through the cover both ways...because of default in workmanship. After dealing with their crooked warranty dept, they agreed it was covered under warranty and was going giving me 50 percent off on my next cover. I waited till this fall to order a new cover and the price was $133.00, I figure with 50 percent off it would be 70 some dollars and change, but no, In the Swim has their own type of math and was going to charge me full price and the customer service rep stated within 5 minutes the system would apply the 50 percent and credit my credit card...Never heard nothing like this in my lifetime, told them to cancel the order, and I bought a better cover for $70.00 (Original Price) from a competitor with a 15 year warranty guarantee not to leak...I told them to delete me from their list that I would never do business with them again... my new warranty gives me 50% off the price I paid... Stay away from In the Swim, not a company to be trusted.

Worst company ever

Worst company ever! Purchased a salt cell from them, worked for 2 months. They said it was under warranty and to send it back, which we did. Then they said we can’t send you a new one because they are out of stock. They said they might have them back in stock in 4 weeks or so??? So I Called and asked for another brand that was in stock and they said they couldn’t? So my pool sits with our running the pump!
