Jacqueline & Edward is a family owned artisan jewellery business run by husband and wife Mark and Jacqueline. We have been creating ethical engagement and wedding rings as well as other jewellery pieces since 2014. Mark previously worked in the environmental sector as a contaminated land consultant (like a land doctor) and some of the projects he managed involved the restoration of mining areas and the cleaning up of petroleum spills - he has seen first hand the damage done to our landscapes. It is this combination of passion and education that Jacqueline & Edward is built on and means there is an uncompromising view when it comes to sustainable and ethical practices. All our jewellery is sustainably handmade-to-order onsite at our workshop in Wetherby using traditional methods and is handcrafted by a small team of artisan jewellers. This means jewellery is not created unnecessarily, without a purpose - there’s no waste and products are created only when they have a home to go to. We only use ethical recycled precious metals (14ct and 18ct gold and 950 platinum) and recycled or lab-grown gemstones and diamonds. Our jewellery is never plated or cast. And because all our rings and jewellery are handmade-to-order, you can modify any piece you see in our online collection, just for you. Every engagement ring and wedding ring we make also includes a small piece of hand panned river gold. We have a selection of panned river gold from around the world and you get to choose where you would like your gold to come from, adding a sentimental value to your rings. Jacqueline & Edward pride ourselves on creating sustainable jewellery that doesn’t compromise the environment. This also includes the packaging of products too, which uses minimalist natural materials – wood and wool. Our ring boxes are hand carved locally using fallen tree branches found on the forest floor meaning every box is unique. We also plant a tree with every order we receive with Trees for Life with the goal of helping to rewild the Scottish Highlands using native species which aims to bring back the original ecological system.
