POOR QUALITY AND THEY DON'T CARE.ordered three Charnwood prefinished…
We ordered three Charnwood prefinished doors late April. All three poorly made with mismatched coloured oak, beading around panels badly cut and fitted, and veneer badly applied with obvious joins. To cut a long story short we've had a further four deliveries and returns due to poor quality, and them sending the wrong sized door. We now have accepted three reasonable doors but due to delays caused by JBK incompetence our carpenter isn't available until the end of July. They do not quality check the doors prior to delivery but expect you to do it yourself and return it fully wrapped which is impossible. We had five doors from them in 2019 and they were really good quality but their standards have fallen and I would not recommend this company.

As advised during the process of exchanging some of the doors for you on four occasions, doors should be viewed from 1.5m away and colour variation in natural timber is to be expected. We have gone to considerable time and expense to fulfil your requirements and unfortunately this did result in a delay in completing your order.

Fantastic Service, highly recommend
From placing the order to receiving the doors, we found the service just perfect. Tina handled our order and kept us informed at all times regarding the delivery. I really liked the live tracking of the delivery too, it helped to make sure we were at home to take the delivery. Really impressed and would obviously recommend.

Find alternatives if you can
Delivery slot meant I had to be up at 5.30 to be sure I was on site for 6.30am. Driver then said they’d never deliver before 7.30 to residential. Doors were flawed and poor quality compared to similar.
Response from JB Kind was ‘it’s a cheap door and you should paint it’ my experience is that JB Kind have a reputation that is not matched by their customer service
Thankfully I bought through a company who understand customer service and have sourced replacements for me from an alternative supplier, whilst attempting to get refund from JB Kind.
Ref response below,
What point advising a 6.30am delivery slot which they have no intention of meeting.
Most retailers sell these doors as suitable for all finishes, and I specifically purchased to varnish. So JB Kind may wish to better inform their retailers.
The doors were not just not to my taste, but had crease lines, so a manufacturing flaw.
Thankfully the retailer is dealing with all this and has supplied superb quality doors from LPD Doors which will look fabulous once installed in our 70's home.

With regards to delivery, our communication advises a 3-hour time slot. On the occasion of your delivery, we advised a time slot of 6:30am and 9:30am. This is an automated message, calculated on the time we are due to reach the area. Where possible we will always delay early morning residential deliveries.
Regarding the comments made around the door, we unfortunately cannot gain the specific details in which they were discussed. However, we confirm that this will be investigated, as we do not wish to express such comments.
Due to the nature of the product that you ordered (a Paint Grade Plus Plywood Interior Door), we understand that it did not reach your expectations for the type of finish you were trying to achieve. We do advise that our paint grade products are primed and painted, to achieve the best finish.
We are sorry that our service and product did not meet your expectations.
