An all round great experience from Jelson
The sales process was very straightforward and simple, with our house being reserved and bought within 6-8 weeks. Being the first ones to move in on the estate meant the customer service team had to go away and ask questions to find answers to my queries, but they always came back to me within the week. Carley, the sales rep for Normandy Fields, has also been very helpful with any queries I have had. An all round great experience from Jelson.

Only been 2 weeks since moving into our new Jelson home, but so far cannot fault the general quality of everything with the property. The service from Carley in the sales team was fantastic, and can only hope the rest of the service from this point is as good.
Our first home…
We moved into our first home in December and couldn’t be happier with our experience with Jelson from start to finish. Carly has been super supportive and a friendly face. She has taken her time to make sure we are settled in ☺️
We moved into our redpoll house…
We moved into our redpoll house December 2025 and Jelson as a whole have been amazing and easy to work with, the site manager Calvin and Carley from the sales team have been nothing but professional and welcoming, Any issues and snags we’ve had have been rectified straight away or within a few weeks, we would definitely buy a Jelsons house again,
Poor aftercare…
Just contacted jelson about my bargeboards as they are flapping about in the wind and a peace missing at the top under the bargeboards. Jelson said they have fitted them correctly and the hot weather may of shrank them. will not be repairing them as the house is 5 years old.
Also the front door they fitted is hard of shuting in hot weather. Same again jelson will not come back as out of warranty. I had a window company round and they said the frame is slightly to big for the door opening. Which means when weather gets warm the frame will expand and the door will be hard to shut. As all the tolerances have gone.
Also some of the workmanship in the house is substandard. Like the internal doors where they have planed down is wavey and looks awful. Plus some of the crome on my kitchen tap and bathroom taps is coming off.
Not very inpressed at all and would be reluctant to buy another jelson house. As once warranty comes to an end jelson walk away.
Poor aftercare.
We have now been in our property over a year, once Jelson got our money and we started speaking with their "robust" aftercare team they became mostly non existent. The aftercare team have a lack of respect to even come back to your queries raised on occasion after months of waiting. On our estate we are a year on from it being handed over and items raised within the first couple of weeks are still outstanding with no communication when they are being resolved. I can't recommend this builder.
Limit to how far back I can go on date but still at the time were a disgrace to deal with
Sad experience
I am sad to say that although we initially were happy with Jelson over a short period of time we asked for snagging to be completed and this was never fully completed. We had issues with our living room ceiling and it took a lot of discussion just to get this fixed. We then had a gas leak under a brand new gas hob fitted in put new build which was only discovered when a gas smart meter was being fitted. We had to have our gas off in winter while the issue was solved. We then had a malfunctioning ensuite shower door which had to be fixed twice was then replaced and the exact same fault developed but jelson refused to put it right saying that we had to go to the manufacturers of the shower door now to complain. We had a leak in our shower which was going Into the wall and creating a hole where water was building up over time. It was reported during the 2 year warranty period but never fixed asked and chased many times got no response eventually gave up. Then upon complaining as the hole kept returning despite filling it we are told that we left it too long to chase it up and that the period for remedying it has now passed IT WAS REPORTED DURING THE TWO YEAR PERIOD AND CHASED UP!! we are now told sorry not our problem go to the nhbc if your not happy. ON top of all this a window in one bedroom failed after only 3 years and despite rasing it with Jelson that double glazing panels should last way beyond that kind of time frame they fall back on the sorry we only cover for two years! HOW CONVENIENT THAT YOU PRODUCE YOUR OWN WINDOWS. Most window manufacturers cover the glazing panels and seals for a minimum of 5 to 10 years.
Don't bother buying a house from them once they have your money even if you report things they should legally be fixing they wont do them and as soon as two years are up they ignore your emails lile you dont exist.
I moved into a Jelson home in Lockley gardens NuneatonNuneaton…
I moved into a Jelson home in Nuneaton on 24/10/25 and I have nothing but praise for the quality of the house and the first class aftercare
There have been one or two snags but these have been put right by tradesmen of a very high standard
I moved into my new build property…
I moved into my new build property (Standard Hill Leicestershire)end of May this year. Sam from the sales office has gone above and beyond on so many occasions ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved. Her communication is 10/10 The first 6 months have been nothing but enjoyable and this reflects on Sam’s reassuring professionalism.
Nice house and site staff, horrendous after reservation experience.
Lovely homes and great site staff, but awful experience after reservation
The houses are lovely, and the lady in the site office was absolutely adorable — nothing was too much trouble for her. She’s exactly the kind of person you want front of house!
If you’re a first-time buyer and able to move quickly, you might be fine. Unfortunately, we were in a chain, and when the inevitable delays happened, things quickly turned sour.
After just 11 weeks, we found out through our buyer that Jelson had issued a deadline and withdrawn the house we were buying. No one from Jelson contacted us directly — we only knew because our buyer’s solicitor had received the notice. When we checked with our own solicitor, he confirmed he’d been notified too.
When I called Jelson in tears to ask what was going on, I was told (rather coldly) to “call back when I was less upset.” The Sales Manager later denied all knowledge of any deadlines even though I had the emails in front of me. She even said that if we’d gone with another builder, they’d be “on the phone all the time” — which honestly, I would have preferred! At least then we wouldn’t have found out through the grapevine.
I would have been shocked to be spoken to like that if I were buying sweets in a pound shop, let alone a house.
In summary:
• 🏡 Homes: Nice well-built with decent gardens.
• 😊 Site staff: Fantastic — kind, helpful, and professional.
• 😞 Head office/sales team: Unsympathetic, poor communication, and quick to pressure for money.
As if anyone chooses to delay moving into their new home and live out of boxes! I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was genuinely upsetting. After-reservation service was disappointing — I dread to think what the after-sales experience might be like.
Disgusting Behaviour: We have experienced nothing but stress
We have experienced nothing but stress, damage, lies and complete lack of responsibility from Jelson Homes. On 15th May, when Drainage 2000 were hired to jet the drains on our road, sewage water and used toilet paper burst from all three of our toilets, flooding our home with waste water. This is not the first time—it’s happened multiple times since we moved in, and always to our property.
There was no warning this time, despite similar work being done in February. The drainage team ignored our pleas to stop until we shouted at them, offered no support, and left us to clean up human waste ourselves. After several calls and being passed around, we were handed a bottle of disinfectant and a phone number that led nowhere. No one came to inspect the damage.
We contacted Carl Burnip at Jelson, who asked us to send photos (which we did), and then went silent for over a week. When he finally replied, the contractor’s version of events was completely false, claiming they offered help and access—which they absolutely did not. Worse, we were told we now had to deal directly with the drainage contractor, Drainage 2000.
That led to another appalling experience—the manager at Drainage 2000 was rude, dismissive, and hung up on me mid-call.
We’ve had zero accountability, no meaningful support, and are left with ruined belongings and emotional exhaustion. Jelson’s attitude has been dismissive at best. We are demanding an apology, full explanation of the drainage faults, compensation, and a named contact to actually take responsibility.
This isn’t just a one-off. It’s an ongoing issue that keeps being ignored or passed on. I would not recommend Jelson Homes to anyone. The homes may look nice, but the support and aftercare are absolutely disgraceful.
Today (6th June), I received yet another email from Jelson Homes (Phil O'Mara), repeating the same narrative—that we declined help (we didn’t), and that the system has no structural issues (despite ongoing roadworks).
I didn’t ask for another email—I asked for a phone call. The lack of empathy or ownership is astounding.
This is now the third sewage incident in our home. We've had to throw away furniture, rugs, and personal belongings, clean up hazardous waste ourselves, and repeatedly fight to be taken seriously.
No accountability. No proactive response. No actual resolution.
Enter its luxury deeper its Hell
We visited the Jelson development as we were keen on a new home, beautiful houses as we entered the estate and nice park. Once we turned right, we thought we had entered the scene of shameless Ombersley drive. Cars parked all over the place, aggressive looking people and stares. Jelson set the scene of entering estate luxury to driving down this street to scene of shameless and most dirtiest street covered with tattoos alcohol and cars every where. Needless to say we turned away from this development and swiftly left. A professional company in the lead up to their show home depicts the council street from hell. I feel for anyone who has paid top dollar to live on this development to be showcased by a street of living Hell!!
I wouldn’t bother looking at any if…
I wouldn’t bother looking at any of their houses; prospective buyers look at another developer. Once Jelson has got your money, the aftercare is poor and they do not care. Our front inside door is seeping wood glue from the door frame and despite being a reported issue before, our 24 month warranty has expired. Yes, 24 months is all Jelson provide for its new windows and doors; great confidence in its products. “Built the right way for over 130 years”, they quote; debateable!
Had problems with the house and I live…
Had problems with the house and I live on a little drive and out the front is a few trees and a green space full of weeds and rubbish. I was told this would be landscaped and they aren't touching it. It disgusting how they can leave that as when I get in and out my car in the summer I get stung by nettles and stand in my in winter. All they care about is making money. I was also told the entrance would be blocked aswell which hasn't been done
Jelsons Homes - excellent service
The service provided by Jelson Homes when purchasing my lovely new home in Deeping St. Nicholas has been amazing, particularly Rachel in their Site Office - very helpful, positive and friendly - thank you so very much.
Incompetent and unprofessional
Incompetent and unprofessional. 18 months of inadequate customer service for a whole array of different issues. Whether that’s moving in to mould up the walls, completely dead lawn front and rear, head of ‘customer care’ telling us our house doesn’t come with a front door canopy leaving us to prove that it does… the list goes on and on before we even moved in.
During, the snagging process was painful. We’re 18 months in and things that we highlighted on day one still haven’t been completed. If you do purchase a house then keep all your emails about work that needs to be done. We kept everything fortunately. It didn’t help that the house hadn’t been cleaned or signed off prior to moving in. They didn’t know we were moving in! Site manager/assistant (at that time) were great. However they seem to have moved on and I don’t blame them.
One of the biggest issues was mould and bacteria smell on the landing caused by poorly placed sewage pipes from the bathroom loo. Effectively, all excrement was just sitting in the pipes underneath the bathroom.
Recently as last week a digger damaged our fence during works on a new build adjacent to ours, ‘customer care’ trying to see if they even needed to legally repair it and arguing the fence might not be ours in the first place and they can effectively damage their property. To realising it was joint owned, doing a substandard repair and then 48 hours later doing the same thing to my neighbours fence.
They have made a costly error on their plans and the road has had raised iron works for weeks. To be fair, the road is heavily masked with mud from the lack of street cleaners. So you can barely see them until you hit one with your car.
Prior to this I had a David Wilson Home. Customer care was beyond exemplary. No issues and a lovely home. Customer care is severely lacking with Jelsons. It’s non existent.
Steer clear!
Ombersley Ghetto
Went to visit local builders in Nuneaton, friends of ours have a jelson home recommended we visited a new development. When entering the estate it was like a scene from shameless, rough, cars parked all over the place and people drinking cans and estate for a new estate looking very unkept. Reminded of camp hill in Nuneaton, do your checks on this estate as very rough looking and unkept and very intimidating
We are so disappointed with our Jelson…
We are so disappointed with our Jelson home, and would want to warn people, so they don't experience what we did. It is the first time we have bought a new build, are our expectation where high. We have always lived in older properties, and though in retirement a new build would save alot of maintanence expected with a properties age. However, it has been a nightmare since we moved in 19 months ago. The company do not care about its homeowners, and just about the turnover. We have many snags, and still chasing, so major and some just bad and shoddy workmanship. They really don't care at all about the way their actions impact on the health and well being of their customers. I would never ever buy from them again, and I would strongly recommend people doing the same. The company has changed over the years, and the current level of service, design and quality is very low.
Shower enclosure leaking
The shower tray had dropped due to shrinkage of the flooring below causing a leakage through the tiles.
Stuart removed the tiles corrected all the issues and re-tiled the area.
Stuart was friendly helpful and really took his time to ensure everything was corrected and looked as good as before.
