Used my local Johnson’s Self Service Wash facility to launder and dry a Duvet. Very easy to understand and operate. Opted for the stain remover and sanitiser. Quilt came out lovely, clean and fresh... See more

Used the concession in Waitrose, Whetstone in North London.
Terrible experience.
Zero customer service.
They refuse to own up to their errors and mistakes and treat their customers with contempt.
Ruined my 100% cotton shirt, which had been worn a handful of times, and was in perfect condition.
However it was returned from Johnson/Timpson with a clean cut across the arm and stained all over with obvious white bleach type marks.
A £65 shirt ruined.
Disgusting experience with no resolution.
They took no responsibility and tried to blame the shirt brand and myself.
They then did their own in house report which is laughable, as of course it was biased in their favour.
Then they wanted me to pay for an independent report of the shirt, in order for them to consider reimbursement.
Of course, you can see what's coming, because I can guarantee they wouldn't agree with the report, if I did it. Why should I be out of pocket for an independent report, for my shirt, which this company ruined in their care?
Appalling conduct from Johnson/Timpson who took no blame for their failure.
Will never use them again.

Terrible - avoid at all costs!
Made stains on jacket worse and broke button! Their idea of compensation is to send a replacement button! Joke!
Do not use this company!

My coat was dry cleaned and they ruined it - the colour came out and it had shrunk. I had to email them and return the coat for a report but the report was very generic and no compensation or apology was given. I will never use them again.

Up Date on Ugg Boots
Nothing !!!!! offered to refund the cleaning which says they admit they have done a bad job !!! Otherwise why offer to refund the cleaning . They also said they oil and re tint the suede which was not mentioned to us and shouldn’t have done that without mentioning to us that’s the process they use !!! Uggs unwearable and Johnsons and Johnson’s basically saying tough !!! We are not leaving it and I’m taking it further as this company completely wreck high end products and don’t care when they do . So many people complaining about the same issue there star ratings are not genuine . An extremely poor cleaning service and customer service . Avoid them at all costs better cleaning companies out there. Living of a reputation they had back in the day ….. but now owned by Timpsons and certainly not the company they were so so so so bad will never use them again . And since writing this so many friends have said how bad they are at cleaning I wouldn’t give them my socks to clean

To The CEO James Timpson.
Timpson Group
Dear Mr. Timpson
I am writing to you to make a formal complaint about the manner in which one of my Chares Tyrwhitt shirt was returned to me after Johnsons cleaning/washing process.
The Johnsons outlet used was in a Waitrose store in Whetstone Barnet.
There was a clean tear on the sleeve, clearly it had occurred during the pressing process but your company failed to acknowledge the damage but instead attempted to conceal it. Added to which the solvent used by Johnsons has left tide marks all over the shirt.
This occurred before Christmas but the shirt was only returned to me last week, after 3 months, incidentally in a dreadful state, it was dirty, creased and crumpled. I have photos of the shirt should you require to see them.
I am hoping that Johnsons will now compensate me, as the shirt is ruined, for the distress and annoyance this has caused me over many weeks.
The response I received today from H.F. customer services, was uncivil to the point of being offensive and was contrary to the views expressed by Johnsons on Trust pilot. I would like to be compensated for the one shirt ruined by your cleaning process.
I look forward to closing this issue in the very near future,
Yours sincerely,
Ronald T Cress
Yours sincerely
Ronald T Cress.
To Mr. Timpson Johnsons Cleaning company.
04. 03. 2024.
Dear Mr. Timpson,
I feel we have reached a deadlock situation with regard to my shirt ruined by your cleaning company and, as a consequence, I am left with no alternative but to take my complaint to an ombudsman. Therefore I am now requesting a letter of deadlock to be issued to me within 14 days so that I can refer my complaint to the ombudsman. If there is no response from you within the time frame I shall proceed without reference to you.
Yours Faithfully,
R T Cress
On advice I am now requesting a copy of your, that is, Timpson/Johnsons terms and conditions.

I wanted to update my review now that I have had a back and forth response.
I bought in a white company jumper for dry cleaning to Waitrose. It came back with a huge yellow stain on the front, and damage to the arm.
I had to send it back, to which they advised that it had to go for ‘technical reports’ which took a few weeks. No one would tell me what the report was.
I had the report back, “inconclusive” they tried to say that the stain was hidden in the jumper, and their cleaning bought it out. Not surprising due to how awful the company is.
They said if I wanted to be compensated, they could keep my jumper. Obviously I said no, so I got both. It’s in fine print for anyone who chooses to use this company.
It came back worse, completely destroyed. Shrunk, bobbled and the colour is off. They honestly said ‘it wasn’t us, we didn’t clean it’ haha
I’ve had no apology, and only offered the cost of the jumper.
Please don’t use this company if you cared about your items, because they don’t.

I highly recommend the Edinburgh Drumsheugh branch. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and couldn’t be more helpful.

Disgusting experience - might aswell rob you of £400. You will get fobbed off by someone called Vicky.
I took my Uggs to Johnson and Johnson cleaners after they advertised that they can clean them professionally. I took two pairs and paid £80 for the privilege to have my shoes ruined. £400 thrown down the drain and customer care did nothing but say they can’t do anymore, even after there own staff in the Loughborough branch said it was “shocking” what had turned back up. They didn’t even offer to refund the cleaning fee and I still 5 weeks later don’t even have my own shoes back.
I can honestly say the whole experience has been upsetting and actually borderline horrendous. For a company with deep rooted family values I’m shocked but I would NEVER NEVER trust them with your items of clothing or shoes if they are of any value to you.
They just make you sign a waiver- apparently which they don’t even explain is a waiver and then remove all responsibility- simply awful! They may aswell of just taken £400 out of my purse- i will be taking this further and can see others have had the same issue now.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The worst dry cleaning service… Went there to wash my puffer which I washed previously at home but it had some water stains afterwards but I know that is normal due to inappropriate mode of the washing machine it happened before. Then went to dry cleaning service to fix this problem didn’t even worry about it since as I said it happened before and then everything was fine with no stains and fluffy. Paid £35 for literally nothing the stains are the same as well as the feathers inside of puffer weren’t fully dried. Yes I did signed up that form but I think that at least some of the result should be visible for £35. I am a student so for me this is not a small amount to pay just for dry clean with no result. Really dissatisfied…

AVOID!! I look my £155 Ugg boots to be cleaned, there was 1 SMALL MARK at the toe of ONE boot and the state I received them back in left me in tears. They have completely ruined my boots, stitching hanging out everywhere, one boot is a completely different colour to the other one, massive indents and creases, the material of my Uggs are now rough (they were soft before), they are patchy also. They aren’t even wearable they are in such bad condition. I called them and explained that yes, I did sign a disclaimer to say the colour on BOTH boots may change slightly which I was fine with however the state I received them back in is not acceptable and they have said they will clean them again but can’t guarantee that they won’t come out even worse. I was told on the phone “well you’re the only person that has ever come back and said this” as if I was lying!! Why on earth would I want my boots to be in this state, they look about 15 years old. Awful experience, never again. £155 plus the £40 to get them cleaned down the drain. Absolute joke do not trust your shoes here!!!

I have a cream dress that I hadn’t worn for at least 2 years, and when I checked it, it had a few (what looked like) small food stains. When I pointed them out to the lady at Johnson’s (Huddersfield), we also noticed a section of the dress also had faint red dye - presumably from being next to another garment. I didn’t have high hopes for getting the garment clean, but the lady said she would try every method she had, and would try her best for me. The following day she phoned to say after a few attempts it had worked, and I could collect my dress. It looked like new. Very, very pleased and grateful for her efforts.

The help that the lady gave us was outstanding,
Ginnie was calm and informative, and guided us through the photo print procedure, from andriod phone to photo machine.

Had three pairs of curtains shortened and they did a brilliant job. Warned of three to six week wait but it was less than two.

My first time using this company in Guisborough.
Had 5 buttons sewed back onto my winter jacket securely and washed/pressed. When I picked it up on Saturday I was very impressed with the way my jacket looked! Excellent service and will definitely use again. Staff very friendly and helpful too. Thank you!

DO NOT SEND YOUR WEDDING SHOES OR DRESS!!!
What an absolute shambles!! They sent my gorgeous wedding shoes back completely wrecked, and when I sent them back for inspection, they have explained that they will be KEEPING THEM! My wedding shoes!
These shoes are worth over £400 not to mention the sentimental value. If I want MY shoes back that I BOUGHT the compensation is REDUCED?! I am being penalised for something that was no fault of my own and I’m honestly disgusted.
