Expensive, unfriendly and unhelpful
Your pricing is complicated and could be simpler. I had to make quite few phone calls to understand and then when the bill came i felt it was alot for what i received. The 3 guys that came … 2 seemed very inexperienced and none friendly or approachable. No floor sheets were brought and i was not told i needed to provide floor protection. The stairwell was left with dust from the bags on the stairwell which i had to clean. A suspected slab of asbestos was discovered and work was stopped. I think it could have been handled better. The guys just stopped, i didn’t know why until the office called. My overall impression was of a rather unfriendly, unsupportive and money grabbing company.

Our pricing and scope of works were discussed prior to the booking, and our rates are also published on our website. The charges applied were not for a completed clearance, but for the attendance, labour and work undertaken before the job had to be stopped.
During the clearance, our team identified a material suspected of containing asbestos. As a company, we take health and safety extremely seriously. All of our operatives receive regular asbestos awareness training to help them identify potential risks and work safely in older properties. The team that attended your property has more than 13 years of combined service with Junkwize and followed the correct procedures throughout.
When the suspected asbestos-containing material was identified, work was stopped immediately. This was done in accordance with our legal obligations, our training and industry best practice. Properties of this age can contain asbestos-containing materials and, where there is any suspicion that asbestos may be present, work must cease until the material has been properly assessed.
Our office contacted you as soon as possible to explain the situation and discuss the available options, including arranging for professional asbestos testing and removal if required, and returning to complete the works once the area had been declared safe.
The decision to stop work was made solely to protect the safety of our staff, our customers and anyone else present at the property. We make no apology for following the correct health and safety procedures where asbestos is suspected.
We reject any suggestion that work was stopped for reasons other than compliance with our legal and safety obligations. We also hold photographs and records from the visit which support both the work undertaken and the decisions made on site.
While we appreciate that you were frustrated that the clearance could not be completed on the day, we stand fully behind the actions of our staff. Health and safety will always take priority, and we will always choose to pause a job rather than place anyone at unnecessary risk.

Fantastic customer service and reasonable quote
We booked Junkwize based on previous reviews and found them to be reasonably priced, incredibly fast with their response and quote, not pushy at all and above all else their customer service including that of their drivers is first class. We will definitely use them again and recommend to friends.
