Skilled chefs
I definitely recommend having dinner here. The chefs come out and dazzle you with tricks, flipping things into their hats, spinning spatulas, cutting meat and veggies at the speed of light and lighting a big fire on the cooking surface in the middle of your table. It's a unique experience to be seated along the outside of the cooking surface along with other people that you may not have met -- unless your party is large enough to fill the table, they seat strangers together. Sometimes you get to talking a little bit with them. It's never felt intrusive and the seats aren't really that close together so you feel like you have enough space.
I like the ritual handing out of the warm moist hand towels for cleaning your hands before you eat. The waitresses wear kimonos and always seem respectful with the guests.
The food is amazing. They've always cooked everything exactly the way I ask to perfection and it's hot when you're served because you get to see it scooped right off the grill. Their sauces are really interesting and I love their salad dressing. I've never eaten anything there that wasn't delicious. I love dessert and a hot tea at the end of the meal. It's not like any other restaurant I've been to.
My family has had many birthdays at this restaurant.
They are really expensive, but still worth the five stars. The price of the food no doubt pays for the skilled chefs to perform at your table, a real dramatic treat. The atmosphere is handsome with a separate bar, old Japanese artifacts on display and a fish pond around the lobby.
