I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO…
I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO FILL UP AT SERVICE STATIONS OWNED BY DECENT OPERATORS - YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK WHEN THINGS GO WRONG FROM THESE CHANCERS.
We filled up with Super unleaded at their filling Station in Stretton on the way to exhibit the Classic car Show further up the A5.
Within a minute of pulling off the forecourt the vehicle started to misfire & luckily we were able to reach a layby on the busy A5 before she died. We immediately called the Garage twice to check if there was a problem or a mix up with the fuel & assured not.
When the AA arrived 90 mins later the Engineer informed us that at least 10 other motorists were stranded in the area having purchased the same fuel from this Garage which had continued to sell the product throughout the morning. He said he had asked them to close the forecourt until investigated.
We were forced to jettison all of our fuel & refill from a Gerry can at a Garage further up the road.
What was left of the day was ruined & after we called in at the Garage to obtain a contact email for the owners in order to claim compensation for the loss & expense, we drove the 50miles back home carefully hoping no damage was done to the Engine & carbs.
We contacted Karan Retail the following Tuesday to report the incident & received a reply from VISNU apologising & also promising to look into the incident with view to advising further.
We have chased this reply on 3 occasions since over the past 11 weeks since as we wanted authorisation to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic before using it again & not had the courtesy of a reply.
I can only assume now that they are not a particularly honourable Retailer & do not feel the need to recompense their unsuspecting customers in circumstances like this.
