The product didn't even last 24 months.
The wood is of poor quality and looks cheap.
The customer service is useless and refuses to take any responsibility. If I didn't have enough to do, I would contact the EU consumer protection.

I have retreat bed. I give it 2 stars because its really pretty...but otherwise design fail at its finest. Did you guys test this bed before launching? The headboard is a pretty nightmare. If its not against 100% straight wall it starts to wobble and creak and squeak at your every turn. Eventually screws come loose and it sqeaks if you move an arm. I am used of wooden beds and i am aware that they all squeak, but trust me...this is different. Its the deisgn. The headboard is a separate peace fixates on top of the frame with few screws and doesnt reach floor or has its own legs for support...So it really needs straight wall. Now i live in a 300 years old house. Walls are nit straight. Did i ever think it will be a problem? No. But this is why a company needs to test it at few different circumstances to see how it works. Especially at this price point....
Now for me...i will probably have to remove headboard. But you know...i bought it because of that. If i would want a frame and 4 legs i could get local carpenter to do it...

This company is arguably the worst furniture manufacturer on the market right now. My experience is identical to the other horror stories posted here.
I ordered and paid for a bed on September 28th, 2025, and to this day, it hasn't arrived. What’s even worse is their constant gaslighting. Karup Design repeatedly claims that "they" don't have a problem and that the fault lies solely with the third-party retailers. This is a blatant lie and total arrogance. It is YOUR factory and YOUR product; therefore, it is YOUR responsibility.
Twice I was told the bed had been dispatched, but it was never actually sent because the delivery was "rejected" at the source. It feels like this company is either a financial black hole or they aren't paying their staff, leading to strikes or a total halt in production. There is no other logical explanation for why an order from months ago still hasn't been fulfilled.
To top it all off, looking at other reviews, even the lucky people who eventually receive their furniture after months of waiting often get it broken or in terrible condition.
Save your money and your sanity—stay far away from Karup Design. They are unprofessional, dishonest, and clearly incapable of running a business. Matej Bloksa

Great customer experience - fast replies, very friendly... and of course: a great product (Japan bed)!

I’ve never seen a service so bad in my entire life. Truly unbelievable. I’ve also never written a review before, so this says a lot. I’ve ordered a bed in JULY! It arrived in November. And as the long wait wasn’t enough, the pieces were SOOOO badly packaged that they were all damaged. Even broken… then they sent new pieces and, of course, they only arrived today (January). Again, all damaged. Unacceptable. I don’t even have more words. I’m so tired of this situation and of writing emails. Never buying from them again and telling everyone how bad their service is.

We received a wrong bedside table. Karup admitted their fault and told us they would solve the problem and give us a new delivery date. After more than 4 weeks - we had still not received a new delivery date. We then contacted the service desk again - and they are not replying to any mails. We have asked for a refund and have had no reaction neither. DO NOT buy here - they do not comply with normal and good business practice - and do not handle errors at all.

I bought the KARUP Roots 90 chair about three years ago, seduced by its minimalist charm and “design” promise. Fast forward to today, and the green fabric has gracefully faded into a soft yellow, not from sun exposure, but seemingly from sheer disappointment.
The cushions? Filled with what I can only describe as shredded moving blankets. Cozy, if you’re a cardboard box. Let’s just say: it’s a chair that dreams of being a bed, but never quite makes it.
Then there’s the zipper. Not YKK (because why use the industry standard when you can be edgy?) and sewn in *inside out*. A bold choice apperantly the goal was to make unzipping a philosophical exercise.
All in all, you could go to IKE* and get something similar if not sturdier for less, or spend a bit more and treat yourself to a chair that doesn’t slowly morph into a sad beanbag.
Nice idea, poor execution. Still, it did teach me patience and how not to judge a chair by its press photos.

Quick delivery, product simple to deploy and with a rather raisonnable confort level (for occasional use as bed). I didn’t hang it up yet (not sure I will do indeed)

Great product. But you do not get a choice for delivery. You receive a mail giving you the delivery date and making it clear that it is not open for discussion. I found the mail not very friendly and not customer orientated. Delivery was at the building door. The truck parked further eventhough there was space in front of the door and was not happy when I ask to have the packages at the door. Would suggest to buy the products through a resaler i/o the brand directly.

I like how the looks, but I have to say that I was expecting a higher quality of the wood, for the price. I wish the pieces were better finished and some of them also needed to be sanded.
Looks good, it's comfy but material quality should be better.

Bed came easely and fast but some legs were missing and it was a long a tiring process to recieve the missing parts, beside that the instructions could have been more detailed and it doesn’t look as a very strong product if, for example, someone would jump on it but in general I think it’s a good quality for the price.

I bought a Karup bed, 160x200m.
The bed frame is very weak so the four legs in corners are not enough and I used the provided centre leg as well.
The centre leg is slim and constantly moves with slightest movement (like turning around in bed).
Within 2 weeks the centre had completely scratched floor under it and a the screw was unusable.
I contacted Karup, not even asking for any refund, but kindly asking if I could separately buy (!) one of the corner legs, to use in centre.
After back and forth, this was their response:
“At this time, we aren’t able to sell individual legs or other spare parts directly through our website. The best next step is to reach out to the retailer or online shop where you originally purchased your bed, as they might be able to provide the specific replacement part you need.“
For real?!
I highly don’t recommend. The bed frames they sell are super weak, and while it looks good, they haven’t really figured out how to make it work. And customer service is super unresponsive!

Quick Delivery 🚚. Great customer service! I ordered the Japan Bed. It is fairly quick to assemble, looks great and is really comfortable ⭐⭐⭐!

The delivery is really smooth and customer service is very nice. However I am not really satisfied with the product for the price i paid. i bought the Japan bed ~4 months ago
Pros:
It looks like what you see in the pictures.
Good delivery and customer service
Cons:
It is super difficult to put together the bed on your own or with 2 people
The bed is kinda loose, not super tight fit and now i am worried to bring my dates home, if my bed will break💔 as funny as it sounds, it's real problem!!

The bedframe itself looks nice; however, the build quality is poor, and it’s definitely overpriced for what it offers. The bed slats are held together by a cheap strip of fabric, and when I tried to attach them to the frame following the manual, one of the strings broke. While I can’t fully assess the long-term durability yet, judging by the construction, I doubt this bedframe will last. The components may start to loosen over time, causing the frame to creak. I was genuinely excited about this purchase and expected more.

We made a mistake when building the bed we ordered and had to contact the customer service for spare parts, and we had the best experience! They ended up sending us the spare part for free and helped us through every step of the way!! We are so thankful to Line🙏🙏
The bed arrived quickly and we got updates on that often aswell, so overall we are very happy with our purchase!

Mattress itself is excellent quality.
Quite happy with the purchase and would recommend.

The worst customer experience ever. If I could give zero stars, I would.
After purchasing a bed, I emailed the company to ask if it could be left at my front door, as I couldn’t take time off work. They assured me this was possible and that I didn’t need to be home. In fact, they explicitly stated:
"We will make sure that your bed is delivered to the entrance of your building. Since you agree to delivery without a signature, we will proceed accordingly."
Sounds clear enough, right? Well, not really.
Then, their Polish logistics partner contacted me and casually informed me that the bed would actually be delivered by DHL. When I asked if my request had been passed on, surprise—no one had a clue. So, I had to start the whole explanation process again. Eventually, they told me they had informed DHL.
Fast forward to today—DHL attempted delivery but didn’t leave the bed because I wasn’t home. So, all those emails and wasted time? Completely useless. Turns out, when you order from Karup Design, their logistics issues become your full-time job.
And the best part? Their so-called “customer support” washes their hands of the situation. Their brilliant solution? Just wait for DHL to email you and figure it out yourself. No apologies, no accountability—just a shrug and an “it’s not our problem.” When I called again, they proudly announced they had emailed DHL and were now… waiting for a response. That’s it. What a proactive approach!
Oh, and let’s talk about the delivery time. 11 days instead of what’s advertised on their website. Not that they care. They also have no clue who will actually deliver their products and zero control over the process. Just fantastic, right?
It’s truly impressive how Karup Design finds the time and budget to flood social media with influencer partnerships and gifted beds but somehow fails at basic logistics and customer service. Maybe if I had 100K followers, my bed would’ve arrived on time—with actual support.
If you enjoy solving a company’s logistics mess for them, I highly recommend Karup Design. Otherwise? Run.
