Working with Kent Reliance has been brilliant but am now moving most of my money from the ease access account because you have reduced the interest rate - can get 4.5% elsewhere!

Certain aspects of the website are a little clunky and look a bit dated but overall everything works well and transactions are quick. Responsive communication via text and email is also good.

Good rates but could do with an App and for your savings accounts and ISA accounts to be linked for transfers etc. Have to have 2 seperate log in details, seems unnecessary

I have previously managed two online …

I have previously managed two online ISA accounts with KR with no issues. KR are now moving accounts to 'New Online Services', in the mean time the 'old' online services do not seem to be functioning correctly. I logged onto look at two ISA accounts, and the page became non-functional. I logged in 3 times in total, the 3rd time I could not get to the details of one of the accounts & then got a message to say I had made too many requests!
KR are now going to move accounts to the new platform with new account numbers and sort codes. They also require the account holders to provide a mobile phone number:
"We need you to use a mobile phone because our registration process for the platform uses two-factor authentication and one-time passcodes sent by SMS to verify identity when logging in or completing secure actions"
Well I wish they had informed me of this at an earlier stage, I would not have then transferred an existing fixed rate ISA into a new issue with them in early April
I have no mobile phone (no signal at home). What am I supposed to do? Why can't one time passcodes be sent via the new digital landlines?

A great place to save with

A great place to save with, other than they don't tell you when there are better rates and accounts that you have to manually find and transfer over to.

Don't trust with your money

Was planning to transfer a cash isa in from MoneyFarm, as they annoyingly couldn't do this online I had to post the forms to them via post which I did 1st class on Monday the 18th May. I've repeatedly requested confirmation the forms were received and stated I would cancel the transfer if no confirmation was received. I work in finance myself so I appreciate transfers take time but acknowledging the forms were received or at least getting back to me to say they weren't is the most basic level of customer service when you're planning to send them tens of thousands of pounds. Gotten fed up of waiting so have contacted current provider and instructed them to cancel the transfer to Kent Reliance, great glimpse as to how much of a pain they would be in future if I'd gotten the account open and needed anything. Don't trust them with your money.

Maturity instructions are not tree or human friendly

I've dealt with customer service agents on the phone in the past and been very happy with their help. My only gripe is the reams of paper that they send me prior to fixed rate account maturity. Maturity notification is much later than I'd like. Posting a mass of paperwork to me very close to the maturity date doesn't help. Save the trees, guys! Do everything online via email and the website. I find all the documentation far too wordy and confusing. Just give me simple choices well in advance and let me tick a box. By the way, let me choose ANY new account to transfer maturing funds into, including those shown on your public website.
EDIT: In response, I received the maturity pack THREE DAYS before the maturity date.

Thank you for your feedback David. We're pleased to hear you've had positive experiences with our customer service team. We sent your maturity options approximately 14 days before your account's maturity date. If you find the paperwork too lengthy or inconvenient to complete, you can simply call us on 0345 122 1122 and provide your maturity instructions over the phone. Our team will be happy to assist you and discuss the options available.

No U K phone number. Help desk, no help

Phone me later today on 07913329587

No U K phone number for Kent reliance or OSB.
No company address on the web window.
All phones are directed to India.
No way to contact U K office, I think in Chatham, Kent.
Now, it is'already end of May 2026. No End Of Year interest statements, to 30 April 2026.
On the account web site, not even the April 2026 monthly statement.

Rate of interest are reasonable.

Never again but.....

I have a number of accounts with Kent Reliance. Yesterday I requested to close one of them but did not receive the proceeds within 2 hours as communicated. I went on-line again this morning to find the account status shown as closure pending. I contacted customer service to ask why it remained pending and was told that no closure request had been received, and that the account remained open. I was told I could close the account on-line but of course I can’t because the account has no functionality due to the closure pending status. So my money is stuck with them until the situation is resolved. Such a basic system failure is unacceptable and I will not be doing business with them again. As an update, the response I received from the complaints team was very thorough and extremely helpful. I have increased the experience rating to reflect this.

Be warned of the effects if wanting to register a Lasting Power of Attorney

Want to register a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)? Be warned, you lose online access for ALL accounts. Ask about its effects on account management first (particulalry if you also have a separate/personal KRBS account in addition). While the staff at KRBS strive to help customers, and interest rates can be fairly good, their policy when it comes to LPAs is not in my view, entirely customer friendly, particularly if you do not live near a branch. It smacks of overkill - even where todays security issues are concerned. In my case I was not told when originally enquiring, that registering an LPA on a loved ones account would result in not only losing online access and management for the account in question, but also my own personal, unlinked savings account. I only discovered this by chance when making an unrelated enquiry (credit goes to the member of staff that told me) !! I do not know if this is industry standard practice, but it is extremely unhelpful in this day and age, and of no use when trying to do the best for a loved one in difficult circumstances. I understand security needs, but believe that KRBS should review and rethink its own policy from a customers perspective,to make it far more user friendly to manage accounts with an LPA in place, without alienating people. (With ths in mind I wait to see whether they stop my own LPA process/request in its tracks as requested today, and whether online access remains in place for both the accounts in question).

They should also review their heavy reliance on using the postal service for important documentation, a service which is continuing to rapidly decline and does not delver.

Update - 22/5/26
Credit where it's due, KRBS appear to have acted quickly on my request to stop the registering of the POA, thus allowing online access to the relevant account once more. My original concerns about losing online access and reliance on the postal service, as above, remain however.

So slow and difficult to set up an online ISA

I have been trying to open an ISA account on line for over one week now. I can't believe how difficult it has been.
They couldn't verify by linked account although I've had no trouble doing this with four other banks over the last two years.
I had to post a certified copy of my two forms of ID and print off and send this with a paper copy of my on line bank statement.
These paper documents were returned to me by post today but I still do not have confirmation of my online ISA account! All seems very slow, archaic and unnecessarily bureaucratic.
I have money ready to transfer but can't do this due to the slowness of their processes.
I am now seriously beginning to question whether I actually want this account if it going to be this difficult to do business with Kent Reliance.

HMRC interest

Professional, friendly and quick to respond.
One small problem the advisor was unable to give me the value over the phone (presumably Company policy), but would send me a letter in the post with the value. All the othe.r Building Societies/Banks that I contacted gave me the value over the phone and would also send me a letter as a follow up confirmation

I chose your Easy Access ISA partly because of the rate you were offering and partly because I may occasionally need to make a withdrawal and these are not limited in number during a specified period. I have had an Account with you in the past and so this is a return visit.
