no courtesy vehicle during warranty repairs

Turbo failed on Musso pickup after less than 3 years and fewer than 50000 miles... spent more than 5 weeks with KGM franchise garage awaiting parts and repair under warranty. Niether the garage nor KGM would provide a courtesy vehicle for any of the duration the vehicle was off the road, subsequently leaving me with over £2500 in hire car costs.

Complaint raised repeatedly with KGM who, when they did actually deign to reply or answer the phone, simply stated than not their policy to provide courtesy vehicle.

Now raising issue with Motor Industry Ombudsman and considering legal action to recover costs given that they promise ("warrant") that their products will be free of faults, and for 100000 miles/5 years.

I recommend others buy a Hilux or similar from a company that has the capacity and care to provide a replacement vehicle in the case of a major failure.

Total disregard

Reading through all the comments about various problems with KGM i find it totally amazing the way they treat their customers. NOT ONE reply to any of the reviews just total disregard for their customers.
You buy a car and your on your own, no help what so ever

I purchased a Musso 2 years ago with the full warranty and service package. The Vehicle has been into the garage more than 15 times with Blown Turbo, Failed Oil Pump, Auto lights not working, rear cab lock broken 4 times, Auto windscreen not working. The list goes on and the head office are really not interested and never come back to you. I have been on redial for over an hour before anyone takes the call. The senior management will not talk to you. The garage where i bought it from are incompedent. This vehicle has been off the road for over 45 days and have lost a lot of money hiring vehicles as the garage and head office are not interested. I am now forced to go legal against KGM UK.

Failed turbo, but more than once

We have to 23 plate Mussos on our fleet.
Failed turbo on one at 40k miles.
Took 10 weeks for repair and it has since failed again after a further 3 k miles.
Dealership still have the vehicle now, after a further 11 weeks!!!
No replacement vehicle.
No call backs from KGM UK and the Dealership are no better.
Oh, and it will take you an average of 60 calls, calling on repeat, to even get through to someone without it going to answer machine after 60seconds.

Do not buy either new or 2nd hand.
Their warranty means nothing.
They have no customer service.
Their vehicles are not fit for purpose.

Have requested call backs from staff, management and directors.
Nothing.
Do you think it is OK to not fix a vehicle, under warranty, after more than 20 weeks?

UTTER CONTEMPT for customers.

Consuming warning from Australia

Consuming warning from Australia. Also manufacturer direct outlet.

Long story short my Ssangyong Musso had big stalling issues that took the manufacturer 237 days to fix and cost me a big legal battle between them. Check other people’s warranty experience before buying them.

2021 rexton warranty cover
Since January I have hardly had my rexton.
It has been in and out of the garage numerous times to repair it. Gear box pipe corroded, gear box failure, DPF failure, turbo replaced, oil pump replaced. Failure to give me a proper replacement car, which now has left me with a £750 bill for a windscreen crack on the courtesy car which wasn't properly covered by adequate insurance which i wasnt aware of and car was not like for like. Missed two holidays with my caravan with a third shortly due to not being provided with a like for like vehicle. Got the car back still not right. Still dies on an incline,

KGM motors uk

What went wrong! KGM, what a mistake absolutely shocking service. Would not recommend after my dealing’s with their brand over my vehicle for the last twelve weeks.

As a company they clearly have a problems with engine and transmission issues, they then take away your promised warranty with back and forth shenanigans through the dealership.

My vehicle has a leak on the transmission after 37,000 miles, due to the fact the dealership servicing the car at 19,000. I purchased direct form the dealership shop at 23,000 with no warning that they had serviced far to early and failed to make me aware.

Please protect yourself from this brand. This has caused me to be in a position as an essential car user to be dismissed from my employment due to the underhanded and moral practice.

Turbo problem and engine blow up on 23 plate musso blaming a few thousand miles over service to welch on warranty. Am I the only person as I have seen 4 to 5 on same forecourt all with same issue I believe. If anyone else has this let me know as they have a known fault and not recalling trucks. £16k bill I would never touch these crooks again and warn against buying a KGM motor of any type please contact me if the same problems as I’m going to take this as far as I can to expose the fact it’s a known issue.

My problem child car was a mistery but thanks to the technicians and daril at kfm motors in Maidstone he persevered and did everything to check my fault even getting some one to take it home he also found othere fauls and rectified them in total the car was taken apart and tested for voltage as my lights where staying on
But all this testing seemed to rectify the issue
I am so glad to have my car back
The ladies at the desk where lovely especially the main lady at the door who was so helpful and supplied me with drinks all in all I can't fault them so please there job is hard enough I know a car is like a limb but we are all human x

Abysmal Customer Service

The local KGM dealership is unable to fix a fault on the car after three attempts. They have had the vehicle for more than 4 weeks in total and blame the delays with KGM technical (centrally) and suggested I might want to contact them to help push the work along. Absolutely no chance. There is only one number for customer services, which immediately asks you to leave a message and they will get back to you. After leaving three messages and sending an email, no response to anything. In summary, not a bad car but any issues and forget it, so my advice steer well clear.

Operate with impunity

A company that operates with impunity, and morally abhorrent trading strategies that involves selling vehicles with known defects for months and hiding behind a technicality where contracts are between consumers and dealerships to absolve themselves of responsibility with even worse customer service. Many customers left for months with faulty vehicles, dealerships with customers vehicles with faults they can’t resolve. Extremely poor experience and I wouldn’t wish a KGM on my worst enemy.

Without doubt worst customer services ever!

Without doubt, the worst customer services I have ever known.
A truly appalling company who have treated us with utter contempt. Obstructive, unhelpful, dismissive, rude and totally unprofessional leaving us with a vehicle (purchased new 18 months ago) with a serious head unit fault (multiple problems with multimedia system - radio, bluetooth, CarPlay etc) and no prospect of it being resolved any time soon. Not too sure how/why they are failing to fix this problem but 18 months is a long time to be trying to run a business without the specifications we asked for, needed and were promised. Other people have contacted me with the same fault and exactly the same story/experience - it isn't just us.The 7 year warranty is absolutely useless if they fail to honour it and we have been left feeling frustrated, exhausted and betrayed over this entire fiasco. They are now refusing to correspond with us at all such is their total lack of respect for their customers. I cannot emphasise enough how utterly disgraceful this company have been and we will be selling our vehicle as soon as this has been resolved. We want nothing further to do with them.
Shame on you, KGM Motors UK (formerly Ssangyong).
