I visited KJB Models on Sunday 1 Feb 2026. I was pleasantly surprised that there is an excellent private carpark beside the shop and things got even better inside the shop,
The owners have created a very welcoming shop with lots of well laid out displays and ranges of models including pre-owned.
The owner was very helpful and I was extremely grateful that she even allowed me to use the newly completed flat-floor toilet. A deservingly 5 star facility, I should add, in the refreshment area under development. What a kind gesture.
There's plenty to browse downstairs and then upstairs there's another room full of stock including some rummage shelves......brilliant. Needless to say I soon found items to come home with at very reasonable prices.
Overall, I was very impressed by the shop and range of models on offer but best of all by the welcoming and helpful staff I met. Thoroughly recommended. They deserve to do very well.

Placed another online order on Wednesday afternoon which arrived Thursday lunchtime. First Class service as always from the KJB Models team!

A well stocked model shop with friendly staff, well worth a visit if you are in the area.

model railway stuff from N gauge to OO etc. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff including the nice lady (Can’t remember her name) who helps her customers to find what they’re looking for. I would definitely recommend this shop to my friends / family and I will be definitely coming back here again to this shop in the near future.

My dad and I recently sold our collection to Katie and Martin. They had travelled half the country to collect, we spoke over the phone instead of emailing and we got what we wanted price wise without negotiation, it was a decent and fair offer. If were down we will look forward to a cup of tea and see the trains passing, hope your customers enjoy the toys as much as we did.

Well after dealing with many Model rail sellers, both eBay and elsewhere , I wanted to give a very Honest review of this business. In my humble opinion, it is simply the best !. Katie and her Husband run the most well run, friendly and brilliant wee shop. I recently bought multiple Hornby , Transport for Wales' , MK4 coaches , these are Brand new from Hornby , a new tooling design, now for this reason other sellers try to charge obscene amounts.

KJB do not do this, the price is fair and the service beyond reproach , it is always very well packaged and swift in transit ( even during these postal strikes !) .
I've been buying from KJB , for years , I remember them first starting , wher they are, and from that first time I had spoken to them , as I'd needed help, with postage arrangements, due to my remote location in SW Scotland, but also personal health,

Katie was so very helpful, despite them trying to get on and finish their then new shop and still serve us all
Move forward to my most recent purchases, as I mentioned I bought a few ' Transport for wales' Coaches plus some minor items for my model 00 gauge layout , and again the service was amazing .

I honestly cannot recommend anyone any more highly or thank them enough, for their kind efforts , great service, knowledge of the various model rail suppliers , but also their honesty in managing expectations, eg I reserved items from Bachman and again , KJB were able to give clear and excellent advice .
So again a massive thank you , a thousand star review .
And may I wish them both a very bright future with their railside store !.

After suffering a family bereavement KJB models were absolutely amazing. Came and talked to us as though we were part of their family. Helped sort out our collection and then gave advice and made a more than fair offer.

A wonderful family run business with amazing customer support which is so refreshing to see within the current Internet age.

I recently wanted to buy plastic roofing for 1/300 war-games models. I have not seen the plastic roofing sheets (Covid to flame on that one), so Katie very kindly told me the actual tile sizes over the phone, so I could check they were what I wanted. I was very pleased with my order when it arrived promptly. Service above and beyond the call of duty!! Happy customer!!

Ordered some items from them via Ebay.
Never arrived and as i type been nearly two weeks. Contacted them and all tehy did was blame covid19 and Royal Mail.
No offer of them re sending or a refund. So PayPal currently dealing with the issue.
Avoid this company as very unprofessional when it comes to issues.

Have spent more money than I care to admit with them over the last few years, and never received anything less than perfect service. On the one occasion an issue did arise it was dealt with perfectly - the joys of dealing with a small family business
