Amazing device. Just wish it has Google Drive sync like Colour and Clara.
Just so easy to use and love the clear screen
I bought a Kobo Libra 2 for myself over two years ago, and it's been an excellent e-reader. My son used to use a Kindle, but we both prefer the Kobo interface and overall experience. Since Kobo no longer makes the Libra 2, I decided to buy a refurbished one for him. It arrived in excellent condition, works perfectly, and performs exactly as expected. We're both very happy with it.
I love that it makes me read more and it allows me to tab into my library's inventory from anywhere in the world!
Like the size of Libra 2 and cover to protect.
Bought two. Working well.
Love the page turn buttons. Battery life is decent. Internet/wifi connection sometimes iffy. Viewing books in kobo store then linking … to overdrive often crashes. Not caused by my wifi, my kobo aura did same so it’s a software or firmware issue.
I am loving this Kobo. I have never used an e-reader before and opted for a refurbished one for the betterment proce point. I will say it feels a bit laggy at times but to be fair, I don't have anything to compare it to because this is my first one. I have absolutely no issue turning the pages and the buttons on the side are great. It just seems a bit slow at times. Nothing to really worry too much about. Functionality wise it is great and I'm reading more now because of this little guy!
Reused but you would hardly know. Great value.
Great ereader
It's a good, if old, reader. Unlike the Libra Colour that replaced it, it's black and white and has great contrast on the screen. On the down side, it is noticeably slower than its replacement and I've had random freezes which appear to be related the chipset it uses. Only the newer devices (Clara BW and Libra Colour) that use the MediaTek chip appear immune to the random freezing affecting older Kobo readers (Libra 2, Libra H20, Forma, even the old Glo HD). They never acknowledged or fixed the issue which affects every other Kobo I've owned, including this one.
easy to set up with overdrive, lightweight and nice to hold. long battery life is a plus.
This Kobo is great! At first I was a bit hesistant about the quality, since it was refurbished and not brand new, but after months of using it I have to admit that the quality is great. The buttons are very responsive and you don't have to push them hard for the page to turn. Also the screen is beautiful, no scratches and very responsive. Sometimes it takes a couple of seconds to go to the next page, but usually after using it for long periods of time. And the battery doesn't drain fast, which was another concern I had. It can last up to a month of really light use, and up to two weeks of constant use and charges fast when using the cable it came with. Overall I'm really happy with my new kobo libra 2 and I'll be waiting when Kobo releases a new kobo with black and white screen and 7 inches.
Great ereader, I use it with Calibre to sideload my own books. I am not using kobo marketplace. Dark mode is not convenient to turn on. Sliding left side of the screen adjusts brightness but its always a miss, the interval size is too much. All of this are minor nitpicks, overall its a great reader.
Bought for manga, and I adore this thing, best purchase
The best black & white e-reader available, supported by the best ebook store that actually sells DRM-free books! Oh, and you can download library books directly from your local library's Libby service via the native Overdrive app. Super easy to get text displaying in a way you're you're happy with and the backlight and text sharpness are excellent. Page turns are snappy and Kobo's user interface is so much easier to use than Kindle's. Just an all round superior experience to Amazon and Kindle. Think I still prefer a buttonless reader (I miss my ancient Kobo Aura H2O) layout but this is easily the best 7" B&W e-reader available. Worth grabbing one next time they drop some more refurbs on the webstore,.
Delighted with my refurbished Kobo Libra 2. It's exactly what I was after to replace my Kindle. The display is crisp, it feels light and comfortable in my hands, and the device is extremely responsive even with my 1500 ebook library copied over (the other device began to chug slowly after a while).
Loved it! Much easier to use for library books. Certified refurbished was just like new.
Great ereader with all the features I wanted. I researched endlessly and this was the best device on the market for what I wanted, particularly with regards to my non-negotiables (easy to sideload, physical buttons). When my ereader arrived, I was surprised with some bad ghosting, but a quick google search indicated that this was only really a problem on the setup screen (and this has been true in my experience). The device is light, thin, and straightforward to use. It auto-orients so that you can hold it with your left or right hand on the buttons. The only mildly irritating quality is the low screen sensitivity: when trying to pull up for the menu and settings, I sometimes need to attempt the manoeuvre multiple times.
