Great product easy to use.
The device lags, when I press “next,” there’s a noticeable delay.
The dipped screen is a little annoying
Quite expensive compared to buying a tablet and downloading the ap. Would be better if it could be rotated and used by left-handed folk.
I've already made it through several books on here. LOVE that it can connect to Libby as well as allows me to upload books from my computer. Only complaint is that Libby doesn't seem to talk to itself (to sync my progress between devices) but that's pretty small potatoes.
I do really like the Libra Colour, but the colors out-of-the-box leave a lot to be desired, and require unlocking developer mode to change. That said, the fact that you can unlock dev mode, and install your own plugins, and even SSH into the device are a huge plus for me. I would almost certainly suggest other technically minded folks buy one. Anyone who is afraid of tech might have a slightly harder time with this than some of its competitors, as some allow easily sending books from your phone to the reader, but even then, they have a perfectly cromulent ebook store that works right on the device.
Love it! So helpful for reading in bed at night or on the go!
Excellent product. Connects to overdrive so I can borrow from the library. Happy customer
Good product.
Absolutely love my new kobo!
Amazing device and definitely worth the higher cost for all of the features. The easy access to Libby is BIG for me and I am excited to continue using it :)
Everything is great, but the screen is not as sharp as on devices with black and white screen. Other than that, solid device. But I will probably switch to Clara BW.
The ereader is just what I wanted. I wanted a flexible ereader that had a color screen for stuff like manga. The screen is great for that use and ebooks in general. The colors are great considering how new the tech is for commercial use. My only hope for the future is that they pop just a bit more, but the current pallet has a nice almost marker-like feel to it. I am a big fan of the buttons for a slightly more tactile experience as well.
Just amazing!
After having a Kobo Libra for 5 years, I didn't see a need to upgrade to the Kobo Colour Libra. To my surprise, the coloured version is a plus, and works well.
Update accompanying brochure which states the power button is on front of machine. In fact it’s on the back!
Amazing device, pricey but well worth it. Dont fall for the cheap buy in with other companies because they trap you into their books instead of the freedom and clarity of the Libra Colour
One thing people don't talk much about is how thoughtfully designed this device is. It's light in the hand, weighs less than my phone in its case, and feels solid. It's tapered from the outer edge to the side you hold, so the weight is distributed to maximize comfort. Combined with the little lip at the hand edge and the textured back, it never feels tiresome to hold.
I finally replaced my Kindle Paperwhite with the Kobo Libra Color, and I couldn't be more please. First, I am FINALLY free from Amazon! As for the Libra, the screen looks great, the device is incredibly responsive (compared to the cold molasses sluggishness of the Kindle) no matter what format I'm reading (EPUB, KEPUB, MOBI, PDF, CBZ, and CBR tried so far). It works great with Calibre, which I've used to organize my books. The handwriting recognition is quite good. I can't speak too much to how it might work for basic sketching, as I'm not very good at drawing, but using the stylus to draw feels pretty responsive. There is only one very minor inconvenience I've found with the device: when you plug it into a computer, rather than automatically connecting, you have to select "connect to computer" on a pop up on the Libra. I wish there were a setting for "Connect Automatically" & "Connect from Sleep" that you could set in the Libra settings. However, all in all, this is a fantastic e-reader and I am very pleased.
