Ridiculous and borderline illegal practices

I'm trying to cancel the internet contract and they say they need to call you to confirm. Well, they've called 3 times and every time they drop off, I kid you not, after 1 second. To the point that I don't have time to take my phone out of my pocket and I'm not exaggerating. Tried to call back to no use because I'm made to wait indefinitely. I don't know if they think people will just give up cancelling or what else their idiotic practices are trying to achieve.

KPN, I know this game very well and I'm already done playing it. I'm cancelling either way and if I you dare charge me one more monthly payment I'm going straight to the regulator as this is obviously not legal.

Wouldn't cancel our subscription

Wouldn't cancel our subscription, even though they weren't able to provide the glasfiber internet we ordered. Stuck with a two year subscription and 75 mb broadband connection even though we ordered 1000mb glasfiber.

They will do anything to make it impossible for you to cancel your subscription. Waiting time on the phone was more than 30 min.

KPN store Almere Centrum

KPN store Almere Centrum: Absolutely unacceptable experience.
The shop staff was outright rude and displayed sheer arrogance. There was zero effort toward customer service or retention. The personnel wasn’t even willing to look into a subscription extension offer and lazily redirected me to the app instead.

After more than 6 years as a KPN customer, this kind of dismissive behavior is shocking. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I seriously doubt I will ever return.

Completely dissatisfied and deeply disappointed.

I had a great experience with KPN so…

I had a great experience with KPN so far. After experiencing the complete dysfunction of Odido, I decided to cancel my contract and sign up for KPN instead. The order process and setup were quite fast, and I was always informed about the next steps and how long it's going to take. Even though the first technician didn't set up the cabling perfectly the first time, KPN called me PROACTIVELY that they still saw issues with the signal and would like to come back for a repair.

Say NO to KPN

Everything is fine till you try canceling their services. And then the company acts like mafia. The ONLY way to cancel the service is by phone (you cannot do it online) and you have to wait for 1 hour to get a representative on the phone and they only work Monday through Friday. I am waiting to make my call as if it's my birthday. They also raise their rates every year and you never know how much you will be paying. I will never ever use KPN for the rest of my life.

Months after we cancelled all our…

Months after we cancelled all our contracts with this terrible company they are still trying to send us invoices. Impossible to find out the reason behind the invoices on their crap website, they obviously have no explanation for why they are trying to steal money from us, because there is no valid explanation for theft.

KPN is the WORST

The most god-awful unresponsive, impractical, incompetent, rude, overcharging group of airheads

I wrote this from a place for experience of attempted to being overcharged month after months them thinking that I would not notice, after that, they denied the perks that came with the packages that I was subscribed to, should say enough.

Go spend your money somewhere else

I do not recommend this company

I do not recommend this company. I pre-ordered a phone from them for €600 plus a subscription. I waited three weeks for it. The delivery confirmation email stated that I would need my bank card and ID. When the courier arrived and I told him that I only had a virtual bank card and had paid for the phone from my account, he said that I would not get the phone. I find this absurd. My order was automatically cancelled, and nowhere in the order process did it say that my credit card would be needed. Now the phone costs twice as much and I will not be buying it.

Charge my account after cancelation

I canceled my account because there was a better deal elsewhere. This is reasonable and normal. I used the overstappen service and canceled my account. They then proceeded to charge me for the next 3 months. I called them after month 2 and they promised I would receive one more bill with the refund but I haven't instead another bill for the service that is cancelled. This is not normal. Charging a customer for a service that they canceled and then you promised to make sure is canceled and stop billing makes me angry.

Misleading roaming bundle & predatory out-of-bundle charges

Recently travelled to Turkey with KPN. As soon as I landed I received an SMS from KPN offering a 15 GB roaming bundle for €24.99. I activated it immediately and then turned on data roaming, assuming my usage would be covered by this bundle.
Shortly after, I got a warning that I was incurring extra costs. Later my invoice showed €54 extra, charged at €2.50 per MB (yes, per MB) — which means roughly 20 MB of data was billed outside the bundle, even though the bundle was active and unused at that moment.
I contacted KPN support to clarify and request a correction. They:
Confirmed the charges.
Refused any refund.
Only advised me (after the fact) to change a setting so that mobile data abroad is blocked unless used via bundles by setting the spending limit from the default €60 down to €0.
So in practice:
KPN actively pushes an attractive roaming bundle by SMS,
Keeps an absurd €2.50/MB default rate,
And leaves a high default limit enabled, so customers can burn tens of euros within seconds before they even realise anything is wrong.
Maybe this is technically in the fine print, but the setup feels misleading and exploitative rather than customer-friendly.
Because of this experience, I will switch from KPN on principle and cannot recommend them for use abroad.

Rigid delivery guy and customer service

I hired glassfiber plus sim card only cellphone internet plan. The modem arrived without problems via post, but today the sim card delivery guy arrived and asked me to come inside his van, once inside he asked for the numbers in the back of my physical bank card and I told him no. He told me that he needed my IBAN bank number and also he needed to see those numbers in my bank card, I shared the number but I didn't showed him that number in my bank card as it is next to the Ccv and exp. date, so I refused. He told me that he was not going to give me the SIM card and I should reschedule another delivery for another day.

Why can't we pay directly at the website instead of having these kind of interactions with rude people?

Horrific experience

Horrific experience, started new service with them for the fibre optics, confirmed a date for cable install but no one bothered to turn up with no communication. Called to ask why and they said they need to reschedule but 3 months from now haha and also said now the need to charge for it when before it was free. Be careful signing up with them, customer support doesn’t exist and hidden costs from nowhere!

Cancellation is a scam.

Hello,

I feel annoyed and scammed by the cancellation system.



I went on KPN website to cancel my subscription the 30th of September. I discovered that day that I couldn't cancel the contract on my own. Sounds fishy but why not, I filled up the cancellation submission and then received a mail confirming my cancellation submission and stating that I will be receiving a call to complete the cancellation.

A call came in at 12 the same day and refused to speak English then hung up. Weird. I tried to callback and ask for English, hang up again. I thought ok, I'll try next week.

Friday 10 of October, no news from KPN, I decide to call again. This time english is available. Although the person on the phone tells me that no, there isn't a cancellation process at my name ?? I tell the person that's not true, that I have the email in front of me stating the opposite. The person keeps telling me I have to pay 2 other months. (It's been 4 years I'm with KPN so I'm way out of the 2 years contract). No solution was found.

Cherry on the cake, the person on the phone told me to rate the call and its service, what a joke.



Highly disappointed, I was praising KPN to most of my friends here, I was so wrong.

KPN is incompetent. If you have a choice, choose anyone but KPN

This company is completely incompetent. While the fibre has been sticking out of the ground at my house, I have waited for 30 months to have it brought inside and connected, all the while suffering from poor connectivity over the antiquated copper. After hours on the phone over the intervening years, complaining to the company of the connectivity problems and lack of progress on connection of the fibre, they finally arrived and installed it on 11 Sep 2025. The personnel they sent were completely incompetent, and should never be employed by any company. They left to this day (9 Oct 20205) a 50 cm drill bit sticking out of my wall that they managed to get stuck while drilling an access hole. They drilled the hole so that it exists outside above ground, and used a flimsy plastic tube to protect it from the elements. To hide their screw up they dug soil from my flower bed and threw it at the fibre so that I might not see it. Clowns. They damaged paintwork in the house drilling the hole. I have complained to KPN regarding what was happened and to date nothing has been remedied. Whenever you call the company you get the run around, telling you tio call another number, often after speaking to 3 to 5 people you end up where you started with the problems still remaining unsolved. If I could move off their fibre I would, but they hold the monopoly in my area. I have paid for a service that was broken for 30 months and their compensation amoun ted to one month free internet! 30 months of suffering does not equate to one month of fees. Countless hours on the telephone does not equate to one month of fees. How they stay in business is beyond me - they are incompetent and should be blacklisted and banned from being able to do business in The Netherlands.

The worst consumer experience

This is the least consumer friendly company I have dealt with in the Netherlands. They sent out an update for their router, totally bricking this and causing unstable internet for me. This happened in Mar 2025. I call them and they send me a new router, still the issue persists. Their engineers come 2 times to my house, each time saying this or that is causing the issue, we will set it differently, but it all works well. I had 2 range extenders in the house, and still an issue with them. At the end, their team advises me to send an email to opzeggen to cancel the contract, and they are now charging me 525 EUR for contract fee. The contract changed in Aug, so for more than 4 months, I struggle with their shitty internet and I pay them 525 EUR for that. The gall this shitty company has!
