Unhelpful after sales - issues with Japanese import
I purchased a BMW 1 series in April and had the NCT done in May. It has taken until yesterday 4th July to receive the refund of my €60 NCT fee (actually not received yet but processed over the phone after several chasers by me, so will take another 3-5 business days). However the more unsatisfactory parts are 1. I specifically asked whether I would have difficulty with insurance given the car is a Japanese import (which wasn’t obvious from the ad for the car) and was assured no it’s exactly the same as buying a European car. This turned out not to be true. My own insurer increased premium by €200 and others didn’t want to insure it at all. 2. The satnav thinks I’m in Tokyo. Kylemore cars had reset the radio stations which gave the impression that the system was set for ireland but after I’d paid for the car and taken it home it became clear that the actual GPS needs to be reset which is an additional cost to me. I called Kylemore Cars but they were not interested in helping. Very disappointing. Make sure you check these two things before buying.
