I am very confused about how this…

I am very confused about how this product is supposed to work. I followed the directions, including soaking the plastic bag full of material in the refrigerator. Then I put it in the box as directed in the direction included. A directed, I began the spraying part but the box is soaked from the bag's time in the water and the bottom is destroyed . And of course the material itself is quite wet, It has only been two days but I am not confident that anything will grow, The directions on line are different than this in the box. Please advise
