VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.
I took my frameless spectacles in because one of the arms needed repairing. I came away with the clear impression that they were not repairable and, more importantly, that there was very little interest in even trying to repair them.
I found this particularly disappointing from an optician, as I would expect a reasonable spectacle repair service to be part of good customer care.
The following day I took the SAME spectacles to Asda Opticians in Swanley.
They looked at them, repaired them there and then, and had them back to me within about 20 minutes — COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE. They didn't even ask whether I had bought the spectacles from them.
What a difference in attitude and customer service.
One optician left me with the impression that there was little that could be done; Asda simply looked at the problem and fixed it.
Based on my experience, I certainly wouldn't recommend this optician. Full marks to Asda Swanley for demonstrating how straightforward and helpful spectacle repair service can be.
