I am a first time buyer. L &C mortgages took the pressure off of me having to search and search and probably still end up with a mortgage that isn't the best I could get. They did that for me. They were times when staff went quiet and didn't reply to my emails but overall the staff were friendly, understanding and helpful.

I worked with Daleep while porting my mortgage as part of my move to a larger property. He presented me with several mortgage options, clearly explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each, which helped me decide on a Tracker Mortgage.

As the sale progressed, new and more competitive rates became available, and there were also changes to my mortgage requirements. Throughout the entire process, Daleep stayed in regular contact, keeping me informed, providing valuable guidance, and ensuring I understood my options. His proactive approach and ongoing support were instrumental in helping me secure the right mortgage.

Terrible service. I had a very disappointing experience with L&C.

After providing all the requested information, I spent time discussing mortgage options with my adviser. We reviewed suitable products, discussed the fixed-rate term, and agreed that I would think about the options overnight and call back the following day. At no point during that conversation was I told there were any major issues with my application.

Throughout the process, communication was poor. Several of my emails went unanswered, and I often felt that there was little interest in exploring solutions or discussing alternative options for my circumstances.

A few hours after what had seemed like a positive conversation, just before the end of the working day, I received an email stating that L&C were closing my case, would not proceed with my application, and were "not at liberty" to explain how they reached that decision.

I'm not disappointed simply because they decided not to act for me, every firm has the right to decide which cases it takes on. What I found unacceptable was the lack of transparency and the abrupt change in position after what had been a constructive discussion only hours earlier. After spending time gathering documents and already incurring costs in my property purchase, I was left with unnecessary stress and uncertainty.

The overall experience left me with the impression that my case was being brought to a close rather than genuine efforts being made to find a workable solution. If there was a valid reason why my case could not proceed, I would have appreciated an honest and professional explanation instead of a generic email refusing to provide any further information.

I would genuinely recommend to avoid them!

I have used Marcus at L&C Mortgages several times now. He has got me a great deal on two property mortgages and one remortgage. I have used him for several years and he always responds to emails quickly and always answers the phone. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. He always finds me the best deals and his advice is invaluable. He knows the market so well and is a great professional. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I also want to mention Sophie, who works alongside Marcus – she has been just as helpful and responsive, and together they make a brilliant team. Highly recommend them both and L&C Mortgages!

First time buyer here, our advisor, Roy, was incredibly helpful throughout the process and always had time answer our questions and explain how everything works, through either call or email. Very proactive work on their behalf and very happy with the service overall.

Ismail was really knowledgeable and talked us through all of the products. Trying to remortgage when there's a war and a new prime minster, was not great timing but I felt confident in Ismail's ability to secure the best deal!
