Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 116 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the customer service to be exceptionally poor, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, leading to prolonged issues and frustration. Reviewers frequently encountered significant problems with their vehicles, including mechanical failures, missing parts, and issues with repairs, often resulting in expensive bills and extended periods without their cars. The quality of the products and services received was consistently criticized, with many feeling that the vehicles were built with cheap parts despite their premium price. Customers also reported being charged for repairs without diagnostic evidence and experiencing a lack of communication regarding their vehicle's status. The pricing for services and repairs was often deemed exorbitant, with many facing unexpected and substantial costs for common failures. However, some people mentioned positive experiences with specific individuals in customer service who were helpful and efficient, and a few appreciated the vehicle's aesthetic appeal and comfortable ride.

We spent £135k on a Range Rover P460e…

We spent £135k on a Range Rover P460e Hybrid autobiography which whilst it drives wonderfully and turns in amazing small spaces for such a large car thanks too it’s 4 wheel steering setup it is badly let down by its InControl app. A better name for it would be the NoControl app. We also have Tesla whose app is extremely easy to use and reliable. Unlike the Landrover app which appears to be the combined effort of 50+ of Landrover’s sub contract parts supplier. Hence the most likely reason only a few features of the app have ever worked. The most annoying thing being the local dealers refuse to accept the car in for service and simply refer you contact the InControl support by phone or email who then treat you like a Landrover engineer asking to delete the app reinstalled press this button in the car for 30 seconds then take the car for 2 Mile run! When we paid so much for a car we expect to be able to return to the dealership for them to fix it not use us as their unpaid employee when we have better things to be doing. We tried everything they said and it still does not work fully on all the features.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. Completely ignored my questions and challenges. I’ve lost a lot of money I could ill afford to loose. I had extended warranty which seems to cover zilch. In the words of Mr Bates v The Post Office “ we’re just skint little people”. I simply don’t understand how a huge company like this gets to continuously receive such terrible reviews and continue without challenge. Disgraceful and dishonourable.
It asks for a date of experience - mine challenge has been going on for the last 6 months.

Worst company to deal with. Service don't reply to e mails or answer phone calls . Select sales and they answer promptly then complain when you ask to be put through to service , which they can't !

Am owner of a Land Rover EVOQUE Diesel
I love this car which runs extremely well. The 4 wheel is exceptional and the inside is well designed.
PROBLEM
My car bumper has been serious ly dammaged by another vehicule
The new Bumper has been on order for now over 9 Weeks and the part has not arrived yet at my Land Rover garage cannot get any supply date from Land Rover system.
For a Luxury Car Company it is NOT ACCEPTABLE
Surprising that they treat current customers in such way. No courtesy vehicule proposed
How can one accept to have his car bloqued for so long from a Luxury Car Company

The JLR vehicles are fabulous to look…

The JLR vehicles are fabulous to look at but that is as far as it goes.
Too many faults many of them being manufacturing issues and JLR do not take responsibility.
My Range Rover Evoque is a 2017 model with less than 50.000 miles on the clock. I have had to replace the door locks due to them being poor quality and failing.
The front panel came off and broke in slight flood water and my Windscreen starting leaking.
JLR were not interested when I contacted them they said I would have to pay for diagnostics!!!!!
Took RR to windscreen specialist who removed, sealed and refitted my screen for £192. JLR wanted £250 an hour just to diagnose.
The windscreen specialist advised me he does on average 6 RR a month with the same issue insufficient bonding along the top of the screen.
JLR - appalling customer service, no accountability and poor quality parts on such expensive cars. SHAME ON YOU.
I will not be buying another one!!!

Land Rover cannot assist. Unbelievable

Given that reviews from owners & media indicate LR are a substantially less reliable brand, might it account for the abysmal availability of spare parts due to demand?
Be very aware if you develop a fault rending the car unusable you may be using the bus a deal longer than anticipated. Currently waiting over 3 weeks for a key.

Well over a month now & beyond the dealers hoped for delivery date and the last one having involved the Client Relations team. The dealer hasn’t been able to get any thing further from his Regional Account Mgr either. Contacting LR again today via their chat service I met with an apologetic response from ‘Precious’ "We are not responsible for retailers, there is not much we can do in this regard, the manufacturer has no involvement in this regard".

Extra Mile

Had an issue with my Defender whereby I was unable to drive it any further. I had a call with LR assist, very professional wasn't on hold, a location link was sent to me so they knew exactly where I was and Chris the technician was with me in 90 minutes. He was able to get me moving and even came back to my home after doing a few miles to ensure the car was running well. He's just been back to finish the fitting of part. Very professional and great service given the circumstances.
Thank you all.
Matt

Avoid Evoque serious safety issues.

Avoid Evoque and Landrover, I've had my car for 2 years continuously having issues. Biggest one is it emergency breaking whilst I'm driving with me and my family in the car. READING service team are the worst. They've not taken anything seriously, I've had to esclate to Landrover UK. Serious Safety risk noone allowing me to reject the car on safety grounds.

To make matters worst due to Range Rover Sport security issues, despite having an Evoque, my insurance has gone up from £500, to £900 and now £1500. With many insurers refusing to insure my car including Landrover.

Don't waste your money!!!!

Disaster of a company

Disaster of a company. Discover 4 broke down in France under warranty. Took 2 months for the warranty service to recover it to our local dealer, with hire car only provided for 2 weeks. Then told that it has to "join the recovery queue" and will take 4-6 weeks before they can even look at it. Complete joke.

Shocking reliability

There is no doubt the cars are beautiful and make you feel great.
The reliability and the customer service is appalling.
I bought a brand new range rover autobiography 113k and it recently passed the 3 year warranty.
My boot strut pin ball snapped and have been handed a quote for £2500 is not acceptable.
I have only done 25k miles.
You really need to work on reliability and customer service. I will most likey never purchase another landrover.

No accountability

I went to Land Rover Dick Lovett Melksham with a Disco Sport for a steering rack recall.
Because there were "no issues" with the rack, they simply changed 4 nuts.
Exactly one month later, the steering is making an awful noise. Would normally visit my local garage, but since the noise was coming from the only part LR touched recently, i visit them. Only to be told it has nothing to do with them. They didn't replace the whole part, so if it is now buggered, it is just a coincidence.
A quick google search tells you the steering rack in this car is a well-known issue.
In other words, if i had booked this recall just one month later, the noise would be there, and they would have changed the whole part free of charge, knowing very well they built an awful engine with awful parts.
What a difference one month (and a lack of shame and accountability from JLR regarding their infamous Ingenium engine) makes.

Have a 2016 Range Rover Autobiography…

Have a 2016 Range Rover Autobiography LWB with 60k on the clock.
Both steering knuckles are cracked and require urgent replacement at £2,500+
Land Rover already know about this safety concern and refuse to issue a recall. The ministry of transport must be asleep at the wheel for not insisting that JLR get on top of this issue immediately
Interesting that is was at the dealer ship for a completely different problem but was out on the ramps and the areas cleaned back to check for cracks that I suspect they were expecting to find!!!!
JLR for goodness sake do the right thing!!

Worst Service I have ever had

An absolute joke of a company and will never buy a Land Rover again ! DPF has gone with no warning. Tried to book vehicle in for repair and earliest was in 7 weeks time. Can't get the parts either and Land Rover want to charge us a few grand to repair it but can't give us a date as to when and likely to be months not weeks !

Young family marooned in the Scottish Highlands

Our car lost all electric functions and ceased to respond to anything but the wheel. My young family were terrified as we came to a standstill after losing all control over the vehicle.
Still waiting for a replacement car more than 12 hours later. Stuck at the side of the road over 13 hours later! Will never buy another Land Rover
