Everything was on a high level but the accommodation. Apparantly the school is desperated to find suitable rooms for their students but they sometimes fail. My accomodation was very unhigienic and not at all homy.

Absolutely I do not reccomend. Very very bad school. This concerns ILM - Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo in Pisa, Italy. Boring grammar exercises mostly. No roles plaining, no situational listening, no music, no movies, no board games, no culture context. Teacher disregarding less advanced students. No effort to engage the group. Never again will choose ILM school

Estudio Sampere - A wonderful place to learn Spanish and experience Cuencaa
I spent one week at a homestay while I learned Spanish in the morning at Estudio Sampere in Cuenca. In the afternoons I explored this beautiful city with the most stunning architecture.
This experience was coordinated for me by Ana Carolina at Language Course Net. She did a fabulous job setting up my lessons and homestay. My hostess extended the most wonderful hospitality, fed me delicious meals and we helped each other with our languages. She helped me to get a reasonable Wi-Fi subscription and suggested places to visit.
Mr. Martinez Borrero, the Director, gave me a warm welcome, and Sophie and Elma, my tutors, were so patient with me as I don’t know much Spanish at all. The lessons were well planned and engaging. I would highly recommend Estudio Sampere, although I suggest you try to stay at least 3 weeks or more to get a good grounding in Spanish.
I had no problems walking around Cuenca on my own but didn’t go out at night. I extended compassion to some of the poor by giving them money and when I could not, they were accepting. That was the most emotionally difficult part of my trip.
There are some trustworthy charities that give people a hand-up to a sustainable life, rather than a handout (which perpetuates the cycle of dependency) in Ecuador, and it is worth for visitors to consider contributing to an organization to support, in addition to helping the economy through their tourist dollars.
Ecuador is famous for its delicious “gastronomy” and that proved to be true for me. I loved the different breads, soups (encebollados) and the fruits – taxa, tree tomato, granadilla, chirimoya and more.
These have been turbulent times for Ecuador. I hope that new president can work to steadily make the country secure, peaceful and tackle under- and unemployment even though he has a noticeably brief time before the next election.
Ecuadorians are so warm, kind and extend the most wonderful hospitality. Ecuador is a scenic country with such diverse landscapes and diverse, beautiful and welcoming people. I am so glad I chose Ecuador for my holiday.
