Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 171 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many consumers find the platform's product content engaging and well-structured, offering a good range of vocabulary, grammar, and exam-style tasks suitable for various key stages. Teachers appreciate its flexibility for setting homework and its positive impact on vocabulary retention and student engagement through interactive activities. The platform is seen as a valuable tool for reinforcing learning and supporting independent language acquisition. Conversely, a small portion of people felt dissatisfied with widespread issues concerning the website and app, describing them as laggy, slow, and difficult to navigate, with frequent glitches preventing task submission. Users also reported frustration with the user interface, which often breaks and consumes excessive device memory. Additionally, some reviewers noted a lack of variety in exercises, repetitive content, and strict answer validation that doesn't allow for minor deviations, leading to decreased engagement and motivation.

A note about our Trustpilot reviews... Because Languagenut is widely used for school homework, many of the reviews here are written by students immediately after being asked to complete a language assignment. Understandably, not everyone is thrilled about homework! You'll therefore see plenty of tongue-in-cheek, humorous, and occasionally exaggerated reviews that reflect students' feelings about homework rather than the platform itself. OMG it is so bad

OMG it is so bad. i work so hard in my homeworks to get 100% and when i just don't write "la" it counts it as a mistake and all my hard work goes to waste. It's so slow and it's incredibly annoying. Would rate it even lower than one.

Languagenut has completely transformed…

Languagenut has completely transformed the way we approach language learning in our school! From the moment we started using it, both teachers and students were hooked. The platform is vibrant, engaging, and packed with interactive content that brings languages to life in a fun and meaningful way.

With support for a wide range of languages and levels—from beginners in primary school to more advanced learners in secondary—Languagenut offers something for everyone. The games, songs, and activities are a huge hit with students, while the automated marking and built-in progress tracking save teachers hours of work.

We especially love how easy it is to set assignments, monitor class progress, and tailor content to different learners. The platform’s ability to reinforce vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation in such an accessible way is a real win. Plus, everything is beautifully designed and user-friendly, making it a joy to use every day.

Whether you're a seasoned language teacher or completely new to the subject, Languagenut gives you the tools and confidence to deliver effective, engaging lessons. It’s more than just a learning platform—it’s a game-changer!

Highly recommended for any school looking to boost their language provision with a smart, modern solution. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Irritatingly Poor Website

Unhelpful and not useful for it's intended purpose.

Languagenut has the correct ideas and intentions of attempting to get your students to understand the language they are learning - whether it's grammar, spelling, vocab, sentence builder etc.

However, it does this in the complete incorrect way. Students tell us that they find it extremely difficult to navigate the website, the UI constantly breaks, it takes up a lot of memory on their devices (therefore is inefficient), and is laggier than Ticketmaster. The only difference is that Ticketmaster is somewhat fit for purpose.

This ultimately leads to a low uptake of homework set by teachers for their students - they just do not do it. 'Why?', we asked. They told us that it's just a pain to do the homework, the 'games' are boring and the website breaks constantly.

I agree with them that this is completely irritating and annoying. It would put me off doing my homework - wouldn't it you?

To improve, Languagenut must rebuild their website with a new design, but more importantly a completely new backend. This would make it somewhat bearable to use.

Many thanks.

Good tool

My students loved the revisions planned with Languagenut. They enjoyed learning vocabs and grammar using a video-game approach. Very good for SEN students as well

Good but the word pad is hard

Everything else on this app is super easy but the typing thing is soo strict like if I don't put a capital letter when I'm meant to for example I get it wrong. Something that mislead me here is I thought you had to get 100% here but it's actually 90% so I guess this app is pretty good

Too accent/word sensitive, making the website purely frustrating.

Every time I attempt to do my Spanish homework, I will check the words, practice and then do the assignment. However, when I try and submit words eg. Meat-carne, it will say I'm wrong maybe because I didn't put la in it. This frustrates me as I like to do my homework to 100 percent, and having this much character sensitivity makes it extremely annoying.

: Frustrating and Inconsistent – Not Helping Real Learning

I’ve been using LanguageNut for homework, and it’s honestly more frustrating than helpful. The biggest issue is how inconsistent and arbitrary the formatting rules are. Sometimes you have to put words in brackets, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes spaces matter, sometimes they don’t. It feels like you’re being tested on guessing how the site wants you to format an answer, rather than actually learning the language.

The site itself can be laggy and glitchy, and it doesn’t give you much guidance when you’re marked wrong for reasons unrelated to language ability. Instead of focusing on learning, I find myself focusing on trying to crack the site’s quirky rules. The website totally has the right ideas, its targets loves games, unfortunately I don't believe the person who made language nut has actually played any games. They are meant to be rewarding- I cant say that about Languagenut at all. If your going to do something, do it properly so people don't need to see a slop. It has great ideas, just cant say they implemented it very well. It fails at what makes languagenut unique.

If you’re looking for a language learning tool that’s user-friendly and encourages actual learning, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

DO NOT USE!!!

My personal opinion is that this website is horrible. The Ui is terrible and super clunky, the website itself is really buggy and has lag spikes all the time. DO NOT USE!! As of this I wouldn't recommend this at all.

Aggrivated review upon Languagenut

Language Nut, in all its creaky, unpolished glory, stumbles forth as a relic of outdated digital mediocrity, an agonizing exercise in patience for any unfortunate soul who dares attempt to extract linguistic wisdom from its molasses-paced abyss. The interface, a cumbersome labyrinth of sluggish response times and antique aesthetics, conjures the feeling of navigating through an archaic system untouched by the march of technological progress. Each click drags on like a torturous eternity, a mockery of modern efficiency, as the user is shackled to a platform that wheezes and sputters with the fervor of an overworked Victorian steam engine. In the grand tapestry of educational tools, Language Nut is the moth-eaten fabric that refuses to unravel, stubbornly clinging to its decaying inefficacy.

The very essence of user engagement is obliterated by its soul-crushing monotony, a barren wasteland of uninspired, mechanical exercises that drain the joy from learning like a vampire feasting on the enthusiasm of the naive. Interactive features? A laughable illusion. Instead, one is subjected to a formulaic drudgery of yawn-inducing, robotic exercises that fail to ignite even the faintest spark of curiosity. The experience is akin to trudging through an interminable mire, where each mind-numbing activity serves only to reinforce the certainty that intellectual growth is best sought elsewhere. The promise of language acquisition, a noble endeavor meant to inspire and invigorate, is ruthlessly reduced to a series of sleep-inducing clicks, leaving only frustration and regret in its wake.

The antiquated technological infrastructure of Language Nut groans under the weight of time, an assembly of lag-ridden inefficiencies that render navigation an excruciating ordeal. Loading screens stretch for what feels like geological epochs, ensnaring users in a timeless void where progress is but a distant mirage. Buttons, sluggish to respond, mock any attempt at seamless interaction, as if reveling in their resistance to human intent. The platform’s outdated engine betrays its creators’ reluctance to evolve, clinging stubbornly to obsolescence while the world races ahead in a symphony of innovation. What could have been a beacon of linguistic empowerment has instead become a monument to stagnation, its flaws woven so intricately into its framework that redemption seems a laughable fantasy.

A tool meant to cultivate knowledge, to bridge linguistic divides, should dance with fluidity, should invigorate the learner with an electrifying enthusiasm. Language Nut, however, serves only as a cautionary tale, a desolate wasteland where ambition crumbles under the weight of tedium and inefficiency. It is a slow, lumbering beast, incapable of adapting to the vibrant demands of modern education, forever shackled to its own archaic mediocrity. One cannot merely use Language Nut—one must endure it, weather its agonizing slowness, and steel themselves against the numbing monotony of its uninspired mechanics. In a universe brimming with boundless technological possibilities, Language Nut exists as a tragic testament to all that digital education should strive to avoid.

Outstanding Platform, Outstanding Support

As Head of Department, I’ve found Languagenut to be an incredibly valuable resource for both staff and students. The platform is intuitive, engaging, and aligns well with our curriculum goals. It provides excellent tools to support language acquisition across all ability levels.

A standout aspect of our experience has been the level of support provided. Our representative, Phill, has been outstanding — always just one click away for any questions or concerns. His responsiveness and knowledge have made the whole process seamless, and it’s reassuring to know that help is readily available whenever needed.

Overall, Languagenut has been a fantastic addition to our department, and I would highly recommend it to other schools looking to enhance their language teaching provision.

Useful tool for language teachers.

I have been using Languagenut for more than 10 years in 3 different primary schools in Perth, Australia and love it. I still have about one quarter of my students who do not use it much. However those who do are improving a lot. I get my students to use it both at home and at school. Languagenut also assists me in my school reports.
