Not nice

My wife and I decided to have a late lunch or early tea to find the kitchen closed, wasn't even 4pm!
So had sausage roll, pork and apple which was nice.
Bought 2 portions of cake, Lemon cake was horrendous tasted so fake. Had the chocolate too and that wasn'tuch better.
The website for the shop states dog friendly but signs states otherwise

Went for lunch with my two friends

Went for lunch with my two friends, as we do frequently, today and the service and quality of the food was dreadful
All 3 of us ordered lunch at 12.17 when there was only us and two others in the queue , theres arrived in about 10 minutes,no sign of mine, after 25 minutes i approached the young man serving the food, made him aware, he said they were working thro them, no apology, after another 5-10 minutes i spoke to the girl on the counter who served me, she said she'd enquire, she said they were working on it now and it would be the next one out. No it wasnt i watched the boy take others orders out, when he did arrive with my bacon and egg sandwich, he just stared at me, said nothing, no apology, nothing. And the food was inedible, tough chewy thick bacon and a dried up cold egg. As i said earlier my friends and i use the cafe frequently. If this is how the service and food is now going to be i think we will find somewhere else where customer services and their quality is uppermost

Lathams famous discount store is not…

Lathams famous discount store is not really a discount, prices are comparable with normal outlets.
Lathams restaurant is mediocre but the 2 star rating is because the toilet facilities are horrendously dirty with urine on toilet seats and floor, no cleaning of any kind has taken place in a long time. Also the 3 hour limit could catch you out in getting a fine so watch out.

Parking Tickets for Shopping and eating in your store

We have all been shopping at Lathams for many years now and have enjoyed shopping in the store and garden and Christmas department and then going for a meal in their Cafe like we have done on numerous occasions. Untill this time we all get a parking ticket through the post. This was very unexpected as we haven't had this before. Unfortunately if this is how it will be in the future we and other customers who have got the same parking tickets will have to find an alternative place to shop and have something to eat which is now a shame.

Shopper beware. Extremely disappointed.

I have always been a big fan of Lathams but my most recent visit leaves me extremely disappointed. I live locally and I have been shopping here with my parents since I was a child. 35 years.

This summer, 7 of us (3 adults and 4 small children) met for a browse and some lunch, which we have done many, many times before. The other adults being equally as long standing shoppers to Lathams as I am.

Unbeknownst to me, until I received a PARKING CHARGE NOTICE in the post, there are now time restrictions in place. I phone Lathams immediately to learn how long you can park for and was surprised to discover you get an inadequate 3 hours.

Keeping in mind, we have 4 small children with us, one of whom is not much more than a baby and another who has recently potty trained, time diminishes quickly what with shopping, loo visits, just generally shopping with small children and sitting down for 7 of us to eat. It was also a busy time of year (august) so service probably wasn’t at its most prompt.

Due to our locations we met separately that day so we have each received a PCN of £60 each. £180 just for using the car park. (Going up to £100 if not paid in 14 days). Like for many, especially at the moment, money is tighter and it obviously wasn’t an expense this month we had budgeted for.

I hasten to add, we outstayed our welcome by just 33 minutes. Parking for a grand total of 3 hours and 33 minutes which I don’t think is excessive.

Needless to say it’s made me reluctant to return to Lathams and I won’t be in a rush to do so.
