We were lead to believe this was a free service (no monthly fee, etc.) Not once were we ever told about the .30 per transaction fee and we asked that the transaction fee be pushed back on the client. While the transaction fee was added to the clients fee, LawPay continued to invoice for a transaction fee that was paid for by the client. This company has show deceitfulness and not forthcoming of additional fees. Very disappointed and will not be recommending them.

Law pay is easy to use with Smokeball, the problem is the reporting and batching of payments is almost impossible to reconcile every day. It seems to be missing some information though. We don't receive reports or notifications regarding certain things our old processor notified us about (for instance, which of the payments from the day it randomly selects to deposit the next day or the day or two after). When we asked about these things we were told they couldn't do it. Most of it is AI driven and sometimes difficult to speak with a person. It is difficult to get questions answered.
Understand, please, that I cannot yet review the product itself. This is only a review of onboarding and customer support. If you are not tech savvy and you need to import your contacts and cases into LawPay, be wary of the product as it may not be for you. I am tech savvy but I need Support to help me with one aspect of my onboarding. However, Support is dreadful. Nonexistent, in fact. They do not help. I have been stuck for weeks unable to even begin to use the system because Support cannot, will not, help me. In fact, one of their agents tried to speak with someone from Support to help me and the person from Support told him no. So I am stuck, wanting to use the system but unable to move forward.

Customer service is top notch! They are so quick and helpful.
lost opportunities because of its failure to complete processing, slow and inadequate customer support to provide relief. Not happy with LawPay.
I love Lawpay! As the youngest member of our team, I had to find a way to make running credit cards at the office more efficient.. and Lawpay is it! The program is so easy to use, and even allows for automatic payments to minimize the time making collection calls. The clients love that I don't have to call them every month to process a credit card, they can just run the payment when they're ready. We have saved countless hours over the past 3 years with Lawpay and I would recommend them 100%. There was a time over the past 3 years when we were given a free program to run payments (given to us when signing up for another type of law program).. We considered transitioning, but quickly saw that not all online CC processors are alike. The free program did not have may of the features that Lawpay offers. I quickly called Lawpay and they offered me a resolution immediately. When looking at our costs to run payments over the years, we spent significantly less to process through Lawpay than our previous provider (NPC). Thank you for building a reliable program, our firm will forever be a client of yours.
We tried the service for a few months. Constant delays in funding & customer service responses can be measured in days, not hours. It appears to be more of a “white label” of a credit card processing firm, and not an actual merchant processor.

LawPay is very user friendly and simple to use and manage! The firm I work for uses it daily and we wouldn't trade it for anything!
Easy to set up. Easy to use. Fast payment. Good platform. I especially like the quick bill option and ability to attach a pdf invoice to request payment.
Our firm has been using LawPay for years and is in the process of switching platforms.
Communication is non-existent - we had an open claim and they didn't bother reaching out to us at all! I had to contact them because I saw the chargeback, i then provided all necessary documentation and again...did not hear from anyone for months!!! I finally reached out and was told they had sided with client. With no explanation.
They are also one of the most expensive platform out there.
If you are considering using them...keep looking!

I've used LawPay sporadically and every time there is an issue. They constantly place invisible holds and limits on your account that you do not know are even in place until you're waiting for your money.
There are many other payment processors. Look at them before this. They do not communicate the actual status of your account and happily hold up payments as a result.
If you’re here for references my only advice to you is: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMERS! They just cover up dishonest lawyers’ backs and scam money from people, then they tell you you’re in the wrong place and they can’t give you any information about your lost money! I was scammed once but no more. I will make sure I tell everyone I know how bad and dishonest these liars are!
LawPay is hands down the best payment processor for law firms. It is 100% compliant with ABA, IOLTA, and state bar regulations, ensuring seamless and ethical transactions. Security, efficiency, and ease of use. It integrates effortlessly with legal software like Clio, MyCase, and PracticePanther, making billing and payments stress-free. Clients love the flexibility of paying via credit cards, e-checks, or ACH transfers through a secure online portal.
The pricing is transparent, with no hidden fees, and their customer support is top-notch—always available and knowledgeable. Since using LawPay, we’ve seen a huge improvement in cash flow and efficiency. If you're a law firm looking for a secure, compliant, and highly efficient payment solution, LawPay is the gold standard. Highly recommended!
My only criticisms of LawPay are the lack of an annual or biannual account review process to ensure all services are being utilized, especially for customers who have multiple accounts, and having click through an email & log into the platform to access the billing statements. Would be much more helpful if the statements were attached to the notification emails.
Fantastic service since signing up. Customer support, on-boarding, web interface all easy to interact with and effective.
Lawpay has been great for us. The only issue we have had is a client disputing a payment which has not been resolved yet despite us having several pieces of evidence showing he is lying. Otherwise it ha been a great asset to our firm. We have taken several clients through lawpay that otherwise would not have been able to afford representation.
I have been with LawPay for most of the 15 years I have been in business. Left once for a few months to go with a cc processor affiliated with my bank, but it was a disaster. LawPay has great customer service, always takes the processing from operating rather than trust, easy website, etc.
Easy enough to use. I’m of the older generation in which any change is big. LawPay Support is always very attainable and helpful with reference of where to find step by step instructions for future.
LawPay has been my #1, and only, payment processor since I began working with them. The customer support is solid and generally has a short wait time. If a client tries to pull a charge-back scam on you after you've provided the agreed-upon services, LawPay handles the dispute process, saving you substantial time. The payment scheduling option is great in conjunction with an initial quick-bill to allow for a larger downpayment then smaller chunks. LawPay helps me close clients, earning me the right to coffee according to 1980s Alec Baldwin. I like coffee, and as a result, I like LawPay.
