Best cup ever!

I have been using more "traditional" cups for several years because I wanted a more cost effective way to manage my periods and hated the way pads and tampons made me feel physically. With suction-based cups, I frequently had issues with leaking and had just accepted that leaks were part of the deal. I then discovered discs and loved the leak-free experience, but I didn't like that the options available to me were all disposable. And then...nixit came along! I have used it for several cycles now and am absolutely in love. I almost never have any issues with leaking, and as an extra bonus it is boyfriend approved 😉Highly, highly recommend!

I haven’t been able to get it to stay…

I haven’t been able to get it to stay behind my pubic bone. Not sure how to remedy this. Feeling disappointed that I spent the money and not able to use it.

The Wait for a More Earth Friendly Moon Flow is Over

Just like with the use of any new product, I had some challenges using nixit for the first time. I found the biggest obstacle was allowing my body to relax! Now I just take some deep breaths and move slowly and I’m good to go.
I had a couple missteps with some leaking and making some messes while removing nixit.
In regard to the leaking, I guess I just wasn’t as in tune with my body as I thought. There were times when I should’ve emptied nixit sooner. I decided to wear back-up protection from the first day of my moon flow (in the form of pantyliners) just in case. As the months progress, I think I’ll become more in tune with my flow and how often I’ll have to empty nixit on the heaviest days.
In regard to the messes....don’t, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to remove nixit standing up. Unless of course, you’d like to be cleaning up moon flow spray paint.

Another little trick I learned is that if I’m going to a public toilet somewhere where emptying and then rinsing nixit isn’t an option...I can bear down and empty nixit a bit into the toilet and then push it back up into place.

I bought nixit because I had tried several different menstrual cups and could never get them to stay in place, and believe me I tried...I’m talking years worth of research. I I tried soft cups/flex, but didn’t love that they were disposable. I ended up sticking with tampons since I felt that at least the cotton broke down. Now that I have nixit, my next step is to get washable pantyliners. I’d love to get some thinx panties but they’re a little to expensive for me right now.

The ring portion

The material needs to be a little more rigid to aid with insertion. I have been using a Diva cup for 5 years and also use Soft Cups (soft discs) that are more similar to nixit except disposable. The ring on nixit is too soft and folds in on itself too easily making insertion extremely difficult. And since doesn’t go in properly, getting it in far enough doesn’t happen. This makes it pop right back out. I’ve tried before my cycle and during multiple times.

I love this menstrual cup

I love this menstrual cup. You can empty it without taking it out and just wash it twice a day. Very comfortable, don't feel it. I have leaked with everything - tampons, other menstrual cups. I haven't used nixit enough yet to know for sure but I think I still leak - no big deal because like I said, it's happened with every other product I've used. Highly recommend nixit!!!

Great product!!

My first period using nixit was a bit rocky. I had some leaks, but I loved the idea of it and was determined to get it to work for me. So, during this last period, I checked placement more often during the days. I had zero leaks this time, and felt completely comfortable. Great product!

I was really thrilled about the idea of…

I was really thrilled about the idea of a reusable disc. I have loved the disposable ones in the past - so when I saw this was available I jumped!! I am still 100% behind the product, but for me it was very difficult to use. The nixit has a much less structured rim- and I found it didn’t hold shape as soon as I started to place it- which led to a lot of inserting and reinserting and manipulating the device once it was inside to ensure it was properly set. That being said- it’s very comfortable definitely helps decrease cramping as I feel most discs (not menstrual cups) do. If the outer lip were firmer I’d absolutely give it 5 stars but it’s just a bit of a hassle to insert.

I've used a diva cup for years

I've used a diva cup for years, but always experienced occasional leaks. Nixit was easier to "install", felt more comfortable (I couldn't feel it at all), and I had absolutely zero leaks. I always wore period panties with my cup, but I don't feel like I need to with Nixit. Being able to be intimate with my husband while using it is a plus. The only issue I have is with removal. It's quite a bit messier than it was with my cup, but it's worth it for the other benefits. Since it can be worn for twelve hours and can hold a lot, I'm always at home to empty out anyway. Honestly, this product makes me forget Im even on my period.

Impossible to insert

Impossible to insert. The sides are too soft. I’ve used traditional menstrual cups and soft cups for over ten years. This product is useless. There’s no good way to insert it, and once it’s in, its too soft to pop open.

Hi Lauren - thank you for taking the time to write a review. nixit is not like traditional menstrual cups and does not pop open as it does not sit in the vaginal canal and does not use suction to stay in place. We would love to help make nixit work for you! Please send us an email at hello@letsnixit.com

I have been using the disposable cup…

I have been using the disposable cup for 15+ years, so I was really excited to try one that would be better for the environment and my wallet...and it does work well. But...the outside rim is not as firm as the disposable ones that I am used to and it has been a tougher adjustment than I was hoping for. Overall a great idea, and a good product-but not what I wanted it to be.

A few drops inside, everything else outside

Hello,
Since you asked, I am on my second periods and so far it’s been a nightmare.
A few drops inside the nixit... everything else outside...
not kidding. I am about to give up. I did contact you on Insta. Did follow all your advices. Either I am not formed as the other women or there is something wrong with this product.

I really like it...

I tried nixit for the first time during my last period. I have quite a physically challenging job and nixit performed well. No leaks! Nixit is very comfortable… in fact it feels like nothing at all. I found it much easier to insert than the diva cup. I did experience a bit of spillage when removing it the first few times but that stopped when I got a bit more practice.

I also rode my horse several times with my nixit and it was very comfortable while riding and did not leak.

I really like it.

So i had an ok experience

So i had an ok experience. The reason being the size was too big for parts of my cycle. I believe they should have more than one size. My cervix changes from high to low. When my cervix was low i had to switch to a low cervix cup because the nixit disc/ cup was hanging out of my body. I wasn't able to get it in and behind my pubic bone. I have used menstrual discs for a while now and never had an issue however after having my 2nd baby my cervix rides lower! I love how soft this disc is however i can't always use it because of size. I hope they come out with a smaller size. I think this would help people with lower cervixs

nixit is an AMAZING product and has been a complete life changer for me!
nixit is super soft, comfortable, easy to use and the overall health and environmental benefits are tremendous. With nixit the learning curve was very quick - I couldn't believe how quickly I became comfortable using a menstrual cup and now just regret not trying earlier. It's a really fabulous product!
Highly recommend nixit!

Nixing tampons for good

I'm never going back to another period product! Nixit was my first experience with a menstrual cup, so it took some patience to master my technique, but I was fully confident by my third cycle. I no longer have to dread my period or worry about my heavy days with Nixit, and it's empowering to finally feel like I'm in control of my cycle.
