I’ve been attempting a return for over a month…

I’ve been attempting to return several items to Lightology for over a month. It took over 3 weeks for them to respond. Then they gave me the pitiful excuse they need to wait for the manufacturer to approve the return. I’m still waiting. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this pathetic company. They want your business, but go silent when you need help on a return..

No customer service

Salespeople (Chelle) answer email and voicemail very, very slowly. "Management approval" for an exchange is equally glacial. Expect zero service from these people.

Problems with Lightology!!!

For context, I am a returning customer to Lightology. However, this time, ALL I am trying to do is get a "return label" from them for a fan we can't use. I have it all ready to go back in proper condition, packaging, etc. I keep getting the run around about how they need "prior approval" before they can issue a label. It says nothing about that on the website, and WHY does it take almost 2 weeks now. No excuses really and just ridiculous. So just so you know, as a customer, if something doesn't work out for you, you MAY not get a return label just as I haven't. These fans are $$$ too!

High end products from a real company with wide selection, actual inventory in stock, quick shipment, and great customer service.

We ordered a high-end light fixture from this company because they actually had high-end products in stock with a quick delivery time. Others advertised our desired lamp (a Fontana Arte pinecone of value >$3000), but quoted long delivery times. We contacted them a few days after order to try to change something in the order (a bulb), and their customer service was available, intelligent, and customer-focused (no stupid bot). The system had good order status updates for multiple parts to show when actually shipped. I would order from them again. (I have ordered from them in the past as well, many years ago.)

Wrong dimensions on website and will not refund

We bought a chandelier in October 2024 from the Lightology website. Unfortunately due to delayed construction on our renovation project we weren't able to hang it until March 2025. While reading the instructions on hanging the chandelier it became clear that the Chandelier height is 61.5" instead of the 54.75" as advertised on the Lightology website. The main body of the chandelier is 54.75" but you have to add a 4" rod and 2.75" canopy to that to get the total minimum height of the chandelier. Unfortunately the chandelier will not fit in our space at 61.5"

I contacted Lightology to see if there was any way we could shorten the chandelier which we discovered was not possible. I tried to return the chandelier since the height would not work for us and they refused to take back the chandelier since it's past their 60 day return policy. I explained that their website has the wrong dimensions on it but they still refuse to take it back. They insist their dimensions are correct at 54.75" even though that does not include the needed 4" rod and 2.75" canopy.

I understand we are past their 60 day return policy window but I feel this company should make an exception since their website has erroneous height information which caused us to order the chandelier even though it would not fit in our space. We would not have ordered it if it had the correct height in their dimensions.

I have been going back and forth with them since March trying to see if we could shorten it or return it. Their customer service is terrible! I would very much like them to own their error on their website and do the right thing by allowing us to return the chandelier for a full refund.

Scam drop shippers who will offer no support

Decent sales people, but the customer service is absolutely horrendous. I mean it's just absolutely absurd how bad they are. Once they have your money, they don't care about you. I spent over $10k with them and they sent the wrong items and I've spent the last TWO MONTHS trying to get things sorted with them and they operate as slow as molasses. I've told them that I have a major surgery coming up next week and that I'll be out of commission after that for some time, but that doesn't seem to having hurried them along whatsoever. They tell you they're going to call you back and never call back. They send you emails, they request things, but if you email back asking for an update, they will never respond. Just avoid them. Everything they sell can be bought elsewhere with likely better customer service.

Edit: The claims team has been trying to resolve this for two month.s They've been glacially slow at responding and following up. They have been less than useless; they've been a downright hindrance. I ordered these items from you, not the manufacturer. It's your responsibility to ensure that I either get the items I order, or that the wrong item are taken back and I'm reimbursed. You're team of Liv, Sandra, Fahmia et al have kept me hanging for an entire month. I also sent back the incorrect items sent to me and they were supposed to forward them back to supplier. This was two weeks ago. I called the supplier today to find that they never received the items because THEY ARE STILL SITTING IN THE LIGHTOLOGY WAREHOUSE.

Terrible customer service with zero…

Terrible customer service with zero help, solution and suggestion. I sent Lightology pictures of my existing light fixture because the LED module was burned out. I told them from the very beginning that I didn't purchase the light fixture at Lightology. After waiting for almost a week, they finally got back to me and told me that there isn't much they can do because I didn't purchase through them. Well, they could have told me right away when I called, or if they are good at customer service, they would have suggested other light fixtures to replace my existing one. Very disappointing and their service has gone downhill. Even when the manager returned my call, she didn't offer any suggestion or solution.

We have been trying to get a refund…

We have been trying to get a refund from Lightology for months now as they sold us a defective light fixture. The receptacle does not fit the bulbs both Lightology and the manufacturer (Foscarini) claim are suitable (118mm halogen). The fit is not even close.

We were able to force in a 114mm bulb. Unfortunately, the only bulb in this length is made for European voltage (230v) and gives no light with US voltage (110v).

If the fixture was actually not defective, we would have no issue. It looks great and we paid an electrician to install it. It simply does not provide light because no bulbs fit. Now we are out the cost of the fixture and the electricians fee to install and uninstall this worthless light not to mention almost $100 we spent on bulbs from every manufacturer of 118mm. Not one of these bulbs came close to fitting.

The entire process has entailed endless correspondence with Lightology and Foscarini wasting our time as they continue to claim 118mm bulbs will fit. They simply will not take responsibility.

I would never recommend buying anything from Lightology or Foscarini. They do not stand behind the products they sell.

VERY DANGEROUS BUSINESS

VERY DANGEROUS BUSINESS. STAY AWAY. We purchased a pendant light from them and the product was a knockoff. It came with the wrong bulbs and was made of plastic which melted and almost caught fire after installation. They claimed there was nothing wrong with the product and refused to offer a replacement or refund.

Bought 2 chandeliers for $8-10,000

Bought 2 chandeliers for $8-10,000. Both were grossly misrepresented on the website. Our designer called and no mercy was show. No returns over $5000. So they don’t work with their best customers. It took 2 electricians and a contractor 2 full days to provide the best installation they could, but still far inferior to web images. Neither us nor designer will work with them again. Awful company. Avoid them.

Ordered a product

Ordered a product, said that that it would be delivered in 1-3 days....well 3 weeks later and nothing delivered. Called and spoke to many supervisors who said that they would help, they did not...no returned phone calls, not resolution, excuse after excuse. They go with a script and say how sorry they are, but nothing gets done. I think they are a fraud, as they wont cancel the order, but yet they have our money, we have no product, and no resolution. Dont buy from them. Unprofessional, condescending, rude, and dont speak the truth. Take your business elsewhere

should have read the reviews first

should have read the reviews before I bought the second time. Unfortunately they are the only ones that carry my fixture (it's discontinued) . Restocking fee on a product shipped with missing parts??? crazy!! what a customer unfriendly policy!! the cust service agents can't do anything either. They are at the mercy of the policy.

Hidden 25% restocking fee on returns! Beware!

Placed an order for off the mill light fixtures - a bunch of them - for my new house. Accidentally bought more than I needed and started a return, which is when I was slapped with a ridiculous and completely unjustifiable 25% restocking fee and return shipping on top of that. I'm losing 30% of my money for a boxed product which I would be able to return free of charge at any big box store or specialized retailed with non-predatory policilies.
You'd be better off buying what you need elsewhere. Lightology is a scammy business, stay away.

Lightology ripped us off for $1500. Horrible dishonest company.

One of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with. BEWARE! We lost $1500 with Lightology. Terrible company, totally helpful and friendly when you are buying but then crickets when the order is wrong or damaged and you call for help. Was very specific with order. Ordered 96" Tie Stix Linear light fixture in Walnut with adjustable color temp option. Supposed to receive it 4-6 weeks, but finally received it 14 weeks later. That part was not their fault - It was during COVID. Anyway 14 weeks later finally got the shipment and opened the box only to find it not only was damaged but it was wrong color. Lightology did not return my many calls or emails until I disputed on my credit card and tracked them down through their state corporate registration and filed Better Business Bureau complaint. Representative was very rude and accusatory and said I should have contacted them sooner. Really? So was I supposed to to contact them BEFORE we received the wrong fixture? So long story is this very expensive light fixture they sent me with damage and in the wrong color still sits useless in my garage gathering dust. Mistakes happen. It's too bad as I did give them plenty chance to make it right. Even when companies are just less than good I won't bother writing reviews. Dealing with them has to be THAT bad to do so. My purchase experience with Lightology was SO bad that I feel like I would be doing a great disservice to anybody who is considering a purchase with them if I didn't write about my experience. It's too bad they didn't do the right thing because they do have some really nice stuff. Fortunately there are a lot of good companies who also have really nice stuff too.

Wrong item sent and still it took a month to get the label to return the incorrect item they sent. Worst customer service! On the plus side while waiting for Lightology to reply I found the same lamp for 1/3 the price!

Poor customer care, no effort to respolve issues.

Update- The company reached out to try to make this situation right and offered me a different item since mine was damaged when it arrived to their warehouse. I had to pay more then originally but I'm happy that they made an effort to help! I also got my light in perfect condition and very quickly once everything was done! The customer care rep that dealt with me was also very professional and nice. ( I think I got lucky with her as no one else was as helpful as she was from this company!)

2 - stars is being nice... it has been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my order. Every time I speak with a rep they tell me it will be shipped within the next 24hours. day after day goes by and still no lamp. These are the kind of excuses I have gotten : "I apologize but the customer service person may not have had all of the info about the order when they provided this timeline. As I said, I believe there was a delay with this because it may have needed to be converted to US 120V and that takes several days. We also had the Memorial Day which added to the lead time." - this is literally 3 excuses in one reply. I would understand if they owned up to the delay but I hate getting the run around. As you can see by the response above, apparently one holiday has set my shipping date back by 3 weeks, and evidently none of the reps know whats going on,... and my light had to be converted even though this was nowhere in the description of the item. Reply's like this make it very unpleasant to deal with companies and as a first time buyer I don't see why I would recommend this site or repurchase anything from them. ( and I was told that if I wanted expedited shipping I would have to pay extra for fright shipping, which is another off-putting reply to this delayed item, at the very least offer this as compensation for my delayed item or even just a coupon for next time...but no) I don't want to say that this will happen with your order but I do want to point out how they treat customers and issues should they arise with your order. Just something to keep in mind.

Good Company

We hardly write reviews when things go right, so this time these guys deserve applauding for delivering almost on time. They managed to deliver both fixtures that we ordered, one around $1400 and the other one around $400. The estimated delivery time for the more expensive one was correct, and they managed to deliver it sooner than the 4 weeks stated, but the other one had a hiccup. Originally the site said they deliver in 3 days, but we got an email right after placing the order that it was back ordered. We made a complaint to the customer service, and they were very apologetic but said the vendor listed the wrong estimates and offered us to cancel the order. We didn’t, but surprisingly, they shipped the item a couple of days later which was weeks ahead of the backorder estimates. Both items arrived well packed and in brand new condition. We were not offered any discounts or incentives to write this review unlike some other companies. Thank you!
