SCAM 100% name of person calling me…
SCAM 100% name of person calling me Calvin Smith, with an accent? (Probably not his real name, also phone number used 762 208 2469. I will report to FTC as bing recommended. He asked me for my bank login info! He wanted to verify my bank account with small deposit. I said No way!. The emails are very convincing, the documents perfect, the reviews from BBB or Forbes, CNBC. They almost got me. Report them! Bing was a big help with tips on what to do!
SKEPTICAL AND NERVOUS
I received a call from someone saying they were from Lightstream a lady with a heavy accent. She said I was approved for 2-10,000 loan. She asked me questions verifying who I was, then she asked for my banking information, and asked if my acct was in the positive or negative. I was skeptical so I made like I was finding my bank info and hungup and blocked the #. Within 15mins someone else called me this time a male with an accent, Went thru the whole thing again, and asked for my bank info, I said why do you need my bank info 1st? I havent even been approved he said"you are already approved, we need the info to deposit the funds. I did give him my bank info(when you are desperate you'll do almost anything, even if you're skeptical) , and also becuz of the difficulty I have been having my credit score has dropped and I do have debt and he said that didnt matter. On their website it says at a least 660 score and good to excellent credit.
He then said someone would call me within 30mins to go over the paperwork so be sure to answer the call. I tried calling the # that showed up on my caller ID. The one thing that gets me with this is the #s they are calling from #s that do not receive calls, so that made me nervous.. A man did call me back, to verify the amount and who I was. Then he asked if I had an online banking with my bank, (still skeptical) I told him no... ... He said I need to call my bank and set up an online acct. and call him back within an hour, or call him tomorrow. I think the # he called from will take incoimg calls, I just called it and it just rang,, They are closed I just wanted to see what would happen. But I did not call my bank. I'm just hoping they are not going to try to take money from my acct... As much as I need this financial help, I dont think I'm going to do it...Just too nervous. I guess to me the way the whole process is done is suspicious. and it seems to good to be true..Although I do see some positive reviews and of course on their website all the reviews are 5 star...

We do not recommend this company at all. Make sure they don't try to sell your information too? 😉
No matter how hard I try or what I do I…
No matter how hard I try or what I do I can’t login to my lightstream account!
I have over an 800 credit score and got…
I have over an 800 credit score and got denied! total B.S. no credit card debt what's so ever! I paid off two loans early from these people early and I guess they can't make money from me so they deny all my applications. What a joke! They want mediocre credit so they can change a higher rate.
First of all, this is not the way legit business people speak to customers!
Some agents called me multiple time in a single day, each one thinking that the more rude, agressive & loudly they spoke, they could bully me into getting my banking information! The first lady had such a heavy accent, she was barely intelligible, (and I'm biracial, so I'm not being a biggot...) and told me to stop wasting any more of her time, and hurry up and tell her my account information! Unbelievable! I wouldn't risk it, if I were you! I'm not really sure if they were actually Lightstream employees, or impersonators, phishing for banking info...
Do not use this company
They said that I needed some kind of insurance on my money that I was borrowing. I had never heard of such a thing. I asked my bank about it and they had never heard of it either. As bad as I needed this money I took a chance on them. They put a check into my account and said the Money I was borrowing would be there the next day. My bank called and said that the check they sent in was bad and had lots of misspellings on it and someone other than myself had signed the back of it. My bank froze my accounts thanks to them. Then they had the nerve to call me at 6:30 AM to find out why they couldn't get into my account. The review I orginally read was real good about this company, now I'm beginning to think just the opposite. If I hadn't needed the money so bad I wouldn't have given them all the information.
Horrific customer service
They deferred our payments for Covid and didn’t tell us that the end date of our loan wasn’t changing so the entire amount came due with two weeks notice. They could not produce any documentation where they informed us of this. They refused to refinance because the remaining amount wasn’t large enough, they refused to let me pay it off with a credit card, then they also refused to change the date of the final draft. I had to pay to put a stop payment at my bank to give me a little more time to get the cash. Will never ever use them again. With all the lending options I really don’t know how they are in business with their extremely poor customer service.
Lightstream sent bad checks to Telhio…
Lightstream sent bad checks to Telhio Credit Union, told me to send money back that overdrafted my bank account $970.00. I called them and told them to replace the money they stole and they said to damn bad.
BEWARE !!!!
BEWARE !!!!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM !!!!! I UNFORTUNATLEY HAD TO FIND OUT THE HARD WAY!!! MY BANK ACCOUNT GOT CLOSED DUE TO SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY ... THEN CAME TO FIND OUT THAT THEY TRIED TO FILE A CLAIM ON A RECENT TRANSACTION I HAD MADE THROUGH MY BANK ACCOUNT. NOW MY CREDIT IS MESSED UP AND NOW I HAVE NO BANK ACCOUNT . I SERIOSLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
This is my second loan with…
This is my second loan with Lightstream. I got my funds in 24 hours. Zero hassle. I had to end my relationship in a HELOC with Flagstar Bank who was awful and needed funds fast. Lightstream was seamless. I can’t imagine what people are doing wrong to have a bad experience.
TRUE SCAM STAY AWAY ASAP
TRUE SCAM STAY AWAY ASAP! THEY ALMOST HAVE ALL YOUR INFORMATION AND THEN WANT YOU TO REPEAT IT BACK TO THEM AND THEN THEY WANT YOUR LOGIN ID FOR YOUR BANK ACCOUNT (WHY). THIS IS A TRUE SCAM THEY CALL FROM A GEORGIA NUMBER (470) AND NEVADA (725) ALSO TEXAS (903) THATS ALL I HAVE FOR NOW BUT BEWARE.
There are definitely scammers going…
There are definitely scammers going around pretending to be the legit company. They will call you out of nowhere and tell you you’re approved for a loan. They get your information and just as others have stated they will say they need to deposit $200, $900 random amounts into your account to build your credit. They file a claim on your bank account which I’ve never heard of a lending company doing that. If you get a call from them they are a scam do not give your information. I changed all my bank information just to be on the safe side
Good company, victim of illegitimate reviews
Seems to me people are too ignorant to understand that there are scammers impersonating this brand (as is the case with numerous loan companies) and also that LTV/DTI always factors into eligibility. It's unfortunate that these people have caused the rating to be so low when you can see that their actual customers are generally satisfied.
I got approved for a personal loan and funded in 2 days. I have decent credit with a good amount of student loan debt. Funds were sent directly to my bank and got the autopay discount to my rate.
This is a great option for borrowers with good to excellent credit scores without a ton of debt. Online account is easy to use and they have an amortization tool so you can see how increasing your monthly payment will help you pay off your loan faster. Also no prepayment penalties.
I disagree with their decision to not include their phone number on their website as this makes them seem a little sketchy but this is the only complaint i can think of. I would consider using again in the future.
Never do business with this company
Never do business with this company. Paid my loan balance in full and company still tried to auto debit a payment when there was no balance due. Worst customer service ever!
Not what they once were.
Have had two loans with them and both with their best rate. They advertise a low rate, I apply again (credit score of 740), they return a rate 3 points higher. And they did a hard pull which lowers my credit score. I suspect that because I paid off my 2 previous loans early that they don't want my business?
Total scam
Total scam! My husband fell for it and now his bank account is overdrawn by several hundred dollars. There needs to be a class action suit against these people.
They Disable Their Phone After You Call Apparently
I finally figured out who is calling every day at 9:00 am on the dot- Lifestream Loans. Today I called them back and the polite guy that answered told me the name of the company. I said, "Could you please take me off your calling list." Click. I called back twice. Click. Click. Lots of time and money has apparently go into this scam. The guy sounded like he was from India.
Excellent! - I'm not understanding the bad reviews
I'm not understanding the bad reviews. I have excellent credit and signed up and was approved during a lunch break. They deposited the money in my account shortly after. The whole process was seamless and I highly recommend using them. Excellent experience overall!
Approved but they didn't send the money!
I was approved for a LightStream loan quickly. I have excellent credit. I was sent an email saying my loan was approved. I was told the loan proceeds would appear in my bank account on Monday. A week later and no money in my account. I called to ask what was going on and a young man told me I was randomly pulled for an audit. He had no idea if and when I would get the loan money. I was left hanging. I called back again to cancel my loan application and they tried to get me to give them my banking information over the phone. They already had that information on the loan application. I will never never ever do business with this company again and am reporting them every place I can think of. I documented all contact with this company and printed off my approved loan agreement and emails. I'm just waiting to see if they follow through with cancelling my loan after hanging up on me. So peeved.
