I paid $25 to upgrade and was still listed as a free member. I then went back and paid another $7 and I was still listed as a free member.
I only get automated responses from support which says they'll get back to me in 24 hours, but they never respond.
They have a 7 day refund policy and I have requested a refund twice from the member that received the payments from me, but he appears to be making excuses, so my now I'll have to check out what legal options are
