FAKE

I applied for the UK citizenship test and paid £80. However, I have not received any confirmation. I attempted to contact them, but my efforts were unsuccessful. The website appears to be identical to the official government website. It seems to be a scam website designed to collect money without providing the promised services.

Indefinite online payment processing issue

Today is day nine of my persistent attempts to book the life in the UK test through lituktestbooking.co.uk website.

On Sunday 13th February I attempted to make a booking through the website for the first time. Initially, the payment processing page seems to had frozen on me but had eventually bounced back with a message advising that my booking has been unsuccessful due to an issue with payment.

I phoned my bank straight away to find out if there is an issue with my account - the bank confirmed that there are no problems from my side. I tried to make another booking on Monday 14th February with no success again.

I phoned the Life in the UK helpline only to be advised that the system is down, indefinitely! I was told that the main issue lies with payments made using Barclays and American Express cards. When I confirmed that my card is not from any of the two mentioned banks, the call operator sounded surprised and said that the bank I used will be added to the list of problematic payment sources. It was suggested that I continue trying to book my test throughout the week and that the issue should be resolved by the end of the week.

Eight days later - the same issue remains, except the error message now reads "We are still waiting for your payment to be authorised. You will receive an email when this booking is confirmed." I have phoned the helpline again, and this time I was advised that my bank has been added to the 'black list' of payment sources which the users are experiencing most problems with. It was suggested that I try to make a payment using an alternative card from another bank. When I explained that I have already tried that, no further solution had been offered.

As it stands, I have made a payment using a Halifax account. The money has been taken off the account, however I have NOT received a confirmation of my booking. Having spoken with a helpline advisor, I was instructed to wait and see what happens over the next couple of days.

There are not enough words to express my frustration with the service. It is extremely upsetting that there are absolutely no solutions offered to resolving a serious issue, other than advising the customers to continue making payments using various bank cards.

Horrible and lying pieces of scum.

Horrible and lying pieces of scum.
Waste of utter time.
I don’t recommend this service at all. I made the booking 2 times and the 2 times they were giving excuses of name not correct date of birth e-mail. Etc. Which was all excuses and lies as I doubled checked and was all correct. They hang up the phone and are rude to you as they no longer know how to lie.
No refund was made and no significant money was given back.this un useful and unreliable team is a scam. They are extremely rude unhelpful and scam artists.
Be aware this team is a total scam.

Horrible user experience which they blame on the customer to justify

Since PSI online, who run the service, are contracted through the Home Office, they can get essentially away with doing whatever they like to their customers and covering it by "Terms & Conditions". Their web form to book a Life in the UK test is largely unusable. I filled in my details CORRECTLY on the top of the form. At the bottom of the form, you are required by them to enter your postcode to find your nearest 5 test centers. Choosing my postcode overrode my place of birth at the top of the form to "LONDON". I didn't notice this (how would I have?) so continued filling out the form & went on to the payment section. There was no place to review my details before submitting the form, and there was no place to review the specific detail which was incorrect after submitting the form. I had no way of knowing that their system had overwritten my place of birth until I turned up for the test and was turned away due to my place of birth not being correct. They made it clear I would not get a refund, and would have to pay the £50 again and book a new test date. After a lot of back and forth via email, I was told not to contact them further as they would not consider issuing a refund, as they take no responsibility for their registration form. Raising a chargeback through my bank was of no help either as they are apparently unable to question companies working with the Home Office. I was able to get a refund on a technicality because American Express actually care about their customers, but that came out of their pockets, with no repercussions for this company. It's not right that they can get away with providing an experience where it's impossible for a customer to verify their details, & then put all the blame on the customer when a detail is incorrect. As far as I'm concerned, they stole £50 from me--nobody would use this system if they weren't forced to by the Home Office. And no other company would get away with treating their customers this way. I hope the Home Office break their contract with this company once their contract is up.

No email or contact form

Can you believe that this website doesn't even provide an email address or contact form? They provide a postal address only (probably because otherwise they will be fined).

My account was reported as blocked and their password reset form does not send any reset email. Tried several times, different days and double checked trash and spam folders.

Yep, this was the entire note, a recursive one. If I dig more I may find even some lorem-ipsum texts.
