As a new yard owner, I found that, following registration to Livery List I was inundated with enquiries and managed to find some new liveries that have helped me establish the yard and helped with the horses when I was away.
Unfortunately, the yard experience didn't work out for me but had I been younger, would have been so grateful for the help received by Livery list.

As a YO this site has been a godsend. It's great to have a central site that clients can look for livery and find my yard, but for me the support that is supplied by Cheryl to YO's is amazing. The advice she has given over the past years has been relevant and needed! Long may it continue

I’ve been a member of LiveryList for quite sometime now and it is absolutely brilliant. You type your post code in and it brings up yards near you. It has a great range of options for yard owners to do a simple in out and their business is advertised correctly. It also offers a huge amount of help and support for yard owners. There is more than likely a whole heap of information I’ve not mentioned, but what I’m basically saying is it definitely worthy of the 5🌟 I’ve given it. Thanks for letting me be part of an amazing community and for helping me gain new great livery owners.

Lots of information and a great number of documents which I’ve found invaluable for starting my new yard. It made it very clear to understand what was needed to be put in place to be professional from day one and to make sure I’m well organised! Also it’s all free which is brilliant and templates too that are really easy and clear to edit. I also get regular enquiries from my listing on their directory even though I only have the lowest type.

To be a useful resource I believe that all reviews should be published so positive and negative experiences on any particular yard can be shown. It seems however that Liverylist only publishes positive reviews which does not give a balanced view of the organisation. It is always the negative reviews that give a true picture although of course some need to be taken with a pinch of salt. In my view one comprehensive negative review is worth 100 sycophantic 5 star reviews from likely friends of the yard manager/owner in question. It is possible to glean from a good negative review whether the yard manager/owner is fair, professional and psychologically stable. In conclusion I do not find LiveryList a useful resource as the reviews appear to be cherry picked.

I am aware of the reasons why only positive reviews are published, LiveryList’s policies etc because I have read the replies to previous reviews which aren’t happy with negative reviews being excluded. However this doesn’t alter the fact that in my opinion LiveryList is not a useful resource to guide horse owners looking for livery.

Seems that you cannot post a less than 5 star review of a yard on this site which kind of negates the whole point of a review. I submitted a review which was, I believe, balanced and thoughtful and described my authentic experience and therefore I believed fell within the strict rules. Reviews are subjective by definition so sending a more negative review to the livery yard owner before publishing it on the yard site page makes a nonsense of the whole process.

In response to the reply below I have again submitted a review of a yard to Livery List.

Now the Livery List page for that yard shows 10 reviews but you can only see 9 reviews all of which are 5 star. My 1 star review is not available to view.

I apologise if the negative review is not sent to the YO before publishing. However it is my understanding that even if a negative review is not published it is still sent to the YO for their information?

Great place for advice and finding the right yard for you across the UK

Amazing website that is the best place to find livery yards when moving to a new area. Lots of small yards that are not advertised elsewhere so this is often the only way to find out about them if you are new to an area.

Excellent support for Livery Yard owners. A lot of hard work by Cheryl Johns - thank you very much.
